1D acu ara d-nini ihi ɣef Sidna Ibṛahim, jeddi-tneɣ ? Amek i tedṛa yid-es ?
1What shall we say then that Abraham our father according to flesh has found?
2Lemmer yețwaḥseb d aḥeqqi s lxiṛ yexdem, tili yesɛa sebba s wayes ara izuxx, meɛna ur yezmir ara ad izuxx zdat Sidi Ṛebbi.
2For if Abraham has been justified on the principle of works, he has whereof to boast: but not before God;
3Akken yura di tira iqedsen : Sidna Ibṛahim yețkel ɣef Ṛebbi, daymi i gețwaḥseb d aḥeqqi .
3for what does the scripture say? And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.
4Axeddam yuklal lexlaṣ-is, lexlaṣ ines ur s-ițwaḥseb ara d lemziya meɛna d lḥeqq-is.
4Now to him that works the reward is not reckoned as of grace, but of debt:
5Akken daɣen win ur nețkil ara ɣef lxiṛ i gxeddem, meɛna yețkel ɣef Ṛebbi i gețțarran amednub d aḥeqqi, ad yețwaḥseb d aḥeqqi ɣef ddemma n liman-is.
5but to him who does not work, but believes on him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness.
6Akka i gessefra Sidna Dawed ɣef wemdan i gḥețțeb Sidi Ṛebbi d aḥeqqi mbla ma yemmuqel ɣer lefɛayel-is :
6Even as David also declares the blessedness of the man to whom God reckons righteousness without works:
7 D iseɛdiyen wid iwumi țwasemḥent seyyat-nsen, iwumi țwamḥan ddnubat -nsen !
7Blessed [they] whose lawlessnesses have been forgiven, and whose sins have been covered:
8 D aseɛdi wemdan iwumi ur iḥsib ara Sidi Ṛebbi ddnub-is !
8blessed [the] man to whom [the] Lord shall not at all reckon sin.
9Lfeṛḥ-agi, yella i wid iḍehṛen kan neɣ yella daɣen i wid ur neḍhiṛ-ara ? Nenna-d belli : Ṛebbi iḥseb Sidna Ibṛahim d aḥeqqi ɣef ddemma n liman-ines.
9[Does] this blessedness then [rest] on the circumcision, or also on the uncircumcision? For we say that faith has been reckoned to Abraham as righteousness.
10Melmi ițwaḥseb Sidna Ibṛahim d aḥeqqi, uqbel ad yeḍheṛ neɣ armi geḍheṛ ? Mačči armi geḍheṛ meɛna uqbel !
10How then has it been reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
11?ṭhaṛa tusa-yas-ed d țbut, d ccama i d-isbeggnen belli Sidi Ṛebbi yerra-t d aḥeqqi ɣef ddemma n liman-ines uqbel ad yeḍheṛ. S wakka Sidna Ibṛahim yuɣal d jedd n wid akk yumnen, i gețwaḥesben d iḥeqqiyen ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi ɣas ur ḍhiṛen ara.
11And he received [the] sign of circumcision [as] seal of the righteousness of faith which [he had] being in uncircumcision, that he might be [the] father of all them that believe being in uncircumcision, that righteousness might be reckoned to them also;
12Yella daɣen d jedd n wid akk iḍehṛen, ur nețkil ara ɣef ṭṭhaṛa-nsen kan meɛna tebɛen lateṛ-is, sɛan liman i gesɛa uqbel ad yeḍheṛ.
12and father of circumcision, not only to those who are of [the] circumcision, but to those also who walk in the steps of the faith, during uncircumcision, of our father Abraham.
13Ayen akk i gewɛed Sidi Ṛebbi d lweṛt di ddunit i Sidna Ibṛahim akk-d dderya n dderya-s, ur s-t-iwɛid ara imi i getbeɛ ccariɛa, meɛna imi i gețkel fell-as. Daymi i t-yeḥseb Sidi Ṛebbi d aḥeqqi.
13For [it was] not by law that the promise was to Abraham, or to his seed, that he should be heir of [the] world, but by righteousness of faith.
14Lemmer d wid ittabaɛen ccariɛa ara iweṛten, iwumi ihi liman, iwumi lweɛd n Sidi Ṛebbi.
14For if they which [are] of law be heirs, faith is made vain, and the promise made of no effect.
15Axaṭer d ccariɛa i d-ițawin urrif n Ṛebbi, lemmer ulac ccariɛa ur d-tețțili ara tṛuẓi n ccariɛa.
15For law works wrath; but where no law is neither [is there] transgression.
16Lweɛd i d-yefka Sidi Ṛebbi i Sidna Ibṛahim, yebna ɣef liman iwakken ad yili d lemziya, ad țekkin deg-s dderya n dderya-s mačči d wid kan yessnen ccariɛa lameɛna wid akk yumnen am nețța, yuɣal d jeddi-tneɣ nukni akk s wid yumnen.
16Therefore [it is] on the principle of faith, that [it might be] according to grace, in order to the promise being sure to all the seed, not to that only which [is] of the law, but to that also which [is] of Abraham's faith, who is father of us all,
17Am akken yura di Tawṛat n Sidna Musa : Sbeddeɣ-k iwakken aț-țiliḍ d jedd n waṭas n leǧnas. Yuɣal d jeddi-tneɣ zdat Ṛebbi s wayes i gumen, i d-iḥeggun lmegtin, i d-ixelqen ayen ur nelli ara.
17(according as it is written, I have made thee father of many nations,) before the God whom he believed, who quickens the dead, and calls the things which be not as being;
18?as akken ur d-iqqim usirem, Sidna Ibṛahim yuṛǧa s lețkal d ameqqran armi yuɣal d jedd n waṭas n yegduden akken i s-yenna Sidi Ṛebbi : Akka ara tili dderya n dderya-k.
18who against hope believed in hope to his becoming father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be:
19Liman n Sidna Ibṛahim ur yenqis ara ɣas akken qṛib ad issiweḍ meyya iseggasen, iwala iman-is dayen ur yezmir ara ad isɛu dderya, yerna tameṭṭut-is Saṛa teǧǧa-ț dderya.
19and not being weak in faith, he considered not his own body already become dead, being about a hundred years old, and the deadening of Sarah's womb,
20Yețkel ɣef Sidi Ṛebbi, ur t-yekcim ara ccekk ɣef wayen i s-yewɛed. D liman yesɛa i t-isǧehden, s wakka i gețḥemmid Sidi Ṛebbi Bab n tezmert.
20and hesitated not at the promise of God through unbelief; but found strength in faith, giving glory to God;
21Yețkel belli Sidi Ṛebbi yezmer a s-d-yefk ayen i s-yewɛed.
21and being fully persuaded that what he has promised he is able also to do;
22?ef wannect-agi i t-yeḥseb Sidi Ṛebbi d aḥeqqi.
22wherefore also it was reckoned to him as righteousness.
23Mačči fell-as kan i gura di tira iqedsen : Yețwaḥseb d aḥeqqi,
23Now it was not written on his account alone that it was reckoned to him,
24lameɛna fell-aɣ ula d nukni, imi numen s win i d-isseḥyan Ɛisa Ssid nneɣ si ger lmegtin.
24but on ours also, to whom, believing on him who has raised from among [the] dead Jesus our Lord,
25Yețțunefk ad immet ɣef ddemma n ddnubat nneɣ, isseḥya-t-id Sidi Ṛebbi si ger lmegtin iwakken a nuɣal d iḥeqqiyen.
25who has been delivered for our offences and has been raised for our justification, it will be reckoned.
