1Now it happened on the second Sabbath after the first, that he was going through the grain fields. His disciples plucked the heads of grain, and ate, rubbing them in their hands.
2Kra n ifariziyen nnan-asen : Acuɣeṛ i txeddmem ayen ur neḥlil deg wass n westeɛfu ?
2But some of the Pharisees said to them, “Why do you do that which is not lawful to do on the Sabbath day?”
3Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yasen : Ur teɣṛim ara ayen yexdem ugellid Dawed asmi yelluẓ nețța d imdukkal-is,
3Jesus, answering them, said, “Haven’t you read what David did when he was hungry, he, and those who were with him;
4d wamek i gekcem ɣer wexxam iqedsen anda keččmen anagar lmuqedmin ! Iddem-ed aɣṛum n lweɛda, yečča yerna yefka i wid yellan yid-es ɣas akken aɣṛum-nni i lmuqedmin kan iwumi yeḥlel !
4 how he entered into God’s house, and took and ate the show bread, and gave also to those who were with him, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests alone?”
5Sidna Ɛisa yerna-yasen-d : Mmi-s n bunadem, d nețța i gḥekkmen ɣef wass n westeɛfu !
5He said to them, “The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”
6Ass n westeɛfu nniḍen, Sidna Ɛisa yekcem ɣer lǧameɛ, yebda yesselmad. Yella dinna yiwen wergaz iwumi yekref ufus ayeffus.
6It also happened on another Sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught. There was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
7Lɛulama n ccariɛa d ifariziyen țɛassan Sidna Ɛisa, ad ẓren ma ad isseḥlu deg wass n westeɛfu iwakken a s-d-afen sebba s wacu ara ccetkin fell-as.
7The scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against him.
8Lameɛna Sidna Ɛisa yessnen ixemmimen-nsen, yekker yenna i wergaz-nni iwumi yekref ufus : Ekker tbeddeḍ dagi di tlemmast n lɣaci. Argaz-nni yekker ibedd.
8But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Rise up, and stand in the middle.” He arose and stood.
9Sidna Ɛisa yenna : A kkun-steqsiɣ : d acu yellan d leḥlal deg wass n westeɛfu, a nexdem lxiṛ neɣ a nexdem cceṛ ? A nsellek amdan neɣ a t-neǧǧ ad immet ?
9Then Jesus said to them, “I will ask you something: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?”
10Yerfed allen-is ɣer wid akk i s-d-yezzin , dɣa yenna i wergaz nni : Eḍleq afus-ik ! Ukrif-nni yeḍleq afus-is, yeḥla.
10He looked around at them all, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did, and his hand was restored as sound as the other.
11Nutni yenɣa-ten lɣecc, bdan țemcawaṛen wway gar-asen amek ara xedmen i Sidna Ɛisa.
11But they were filled with rage, and talked with one another about what they might do to Jesus.
12Deg ussan-nni, Sidna Ɛisa yuli ɣer wedrar akken ad iẓẓall. Yeqqim iḍ kamel nețța ideɛɛu ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi.
12It happened in these days, that he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God.
13Mi yuli wass, yessawel i yinelmaden is, yextaṛ seg-sen tnac iwumi isemma « ṛṛusul» yeɛni « imceggɛen.»
13When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:
14Yella Semɛun iwumi isemma Buṭrus akk-d gma-s Andriyus, Yeɛqub, Yuḥenna, Filbas, Bartelmay,
14Simon, whom he also named Peter; Andrew, his brother; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew;
15Matta, ?uma, Yeɛqub mmi-s n ?alfi, Semɛun iwumi qqaṛen awaṭani,
15Matthew; Thomas; James, the son of Alphaeus; Simon, who was called the Zealot;
16Yahuda mmi-s n Yeɛqub d Yudas n taddart n Qeṛyut win yuɣalen d axeddaɛ.
16Judas the son of James; and Judas Iscariot, who also became a traitor.
17Sidna Ɛisa iṣubb-ed yid-sen seg wedrar, ḥebsen di luḍa anda nnejmaɛen aṭas n yinelmaden-is d waṭas n lɣaci i d-yusan si tmurt n Yahuda, si temdint n Lquds, si temdinin n ?ur akk-d Sidun yellan rrif n lebḥeṛ.
17He came down with them, and stood on a level place, with a crowd of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases;
18Usan-d iwakken ad slen i wawal-is yerna a ten-isseḥlu si lehlakat-nsen ; wid akk zedɣen leǧnun, ḥlan.
18as well as those who were troubled by unclean spirits, and they were being healed.
19Lɣaci meṛṛa țqelliben a t-nalen ( a t-massen ) axaṭer tețțeffeɣ-ed seg-s tezmert i ten-isseḥlayen akk.
19All the multitude sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.
20Sidna Ɛisa yerfed allen-is ɣer inelmaden-is yenna : Amarezg-nwen kunwi yellan d iẓawaliyen, tagelda n Sidi Ṛebbi d ayla-nwen.
20He lifted up his eyes to his disciples, and said, “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God.
21Amarezg-nwen kunwi yelluẓen tura, a d-yas wass i deg ara teṛwum. Amarezg-nwen kunwi yețrun tura, a d-yas wass i deg ara tilim di lfeṛḥ.
21 Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.
22D iseɛdiyen ara tilim m'ara kkun-keṛhen yemdanen, m'ara kkun-qecɛen, m'ara kkun-regmen, ad rren isem-nwen amzun d lɛaṛ ɣef ddemma n Mmi-s n bunadem.
22 Blessed are you when men shall hate you, and when they shall exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.
23Ass-nni ilit di lfeṛḥ, friwset s lfeṛḥ axaṭer d ṛṛezq ameqqran i kkun-ițṛaǧun deg igenni ! Imi akka i xedmen lejdud-nsen i lenbiya.
23 Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for their fathers did the same thing to the prophets.
24Ma d kunwi ay imeṛkantiyen, a tawaɣit-nwen axaṭer rrbeḥ-nwen tesɛam-t tura.
24 “But woe to you who are rich! For you have received your consolation.
25A tawaɣit-nwen kunwi yeṛwan tura, aț-țuɣalem aț-țellaẓem. A tawaɣit-nwen kunwi yețțaḍṣan tura axaṭer aț-țilim di leḥzen d yimeṭṭawen.
25 Woe to you, you who are full now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
26A tawaɣit nwen asm'ara kkun-cekkṛen yemdanen, axaṭer akka i xedmen lejdud-nsen i lenbiya n lekdeb.
26 Woe, TR adds “to you” when TR adds “all” men speak well of you, for their fathers did the same thing to the false prophets.
27Ma d nekk a wen-iniɣ i kunwi i d-ițḥessisen : ḥemmlet iɛdawen-nwen, xedmet lxiṛ i wid i kkun-ikeṛhen.
27 “But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28Barket wid i kkun-ineɛlen, dɛut s lxiṛ i wid i kkun-iḍelmen.
28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.
29Ma yewwet-ik yiwen ɣer lḥenk, sendi-yas lḥenk nniḍen. Ma yekkes-ak yiwen abeṛnus-ik, anef-as ad yernu ula d aqenduṛ-ik.
29 To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, don’t withhold your coat also.
30Efk-as ayen yuḥwaj i win i k-id-yessutren ; win i k-ikksen kra, ur țṛaǧu ara a k-t-id-yerr.
30 Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.
31Xedmet i wiyaḍ ayen i tebɣam a wen-t xedmen i kunwi.
31 “As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them.
32Ma yella tḥemmlem kan wid i kkun-iḥemmlen, d acu n lxiṛ i txedmem ? Ula d imcumen ḥemmlen wid i ten-iḥemmlen.
32 If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
33Ma yella txeddmem lxiṛ i wid kan i wen ixeddmen lxiṛ, d acu n lxiṛ i txedmem ? Ula d imcumen xeddmen akka.
33 If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
34Ma yella tṛeṭṭlem i wid kan i teẓram a wen-d-rren, d acu i trebḥem ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi ? Imcumen daɣen ṛeṭṭlen i imddukal-nsen iwakken ad afen aṛeṭṭal ula d nutni.
34 If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive back as much.
35Lameɛna kunwi : ḥemmlet iɛdawen-nwen, xedmet lxiṛ, ṛeḍlet mbla ṭṭmeɛ, akka ara tesɛum lfayda tameqqrant, ara tilim d arraw n Sidi Ṛebbi ɛlayen. Axaṭer Ṛebbi d aḥnin ula ɣef yemcumen akk-d wid inekkṛen lxiṛ.
35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
36Iḥninet, sɛut ṛṛeḥma akken i ț-isɛa Baba-twen.
36 Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is also merciful.
37Ur țḥasabet ara wiyaḍ iwakken Sidi Ṛebbi ur kkun-ițḥasab ara. Ur ḥekkmet ara ɣef wiyaḍ iwakken Sidi Ṛebbi ur iḥekkem ara fell-awen. Semmḥet i wiyaḍ iwakken a wen isameḥ Sidi Ṛebbi.
37 Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged. Don’t condemn, and you won’t be condemned. Set free, and you will be set free.
38Seddqet, a wen d-yuɣal s ɣuṛ Ṛebbi. Ma tseddqem mbla lkil, a wen-d yuɣal s ɣuṛ Ṛebbi mbla lkil ; axaṭer a wen-d-ițwaktal s lkil s wacu tektalem.
38 “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. literally, into your bosom. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you.”
39Yewwi-yasen-d lemtel nniḍen, yenna-yasen : Aderɣal ur izmir ara ad iṭṭef afus i uderɣal nniḍen, neɣ m'ulac ad grirben i sin ɣer yeɣzeṛ ;
39He spoke a parable to them. “Can the blind guide the blind? Won’t they both fall into a pit?
40anelmad werǧin yugar ccix-is, lameɛna anelmad ara yawḍen am ccix-is di tmusni, ad yili am nețța.
40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.
41Acuɣeṛ tețwaliḍ axeclaw yellan di tiṭ n gma-k ur tețwaliḍ ara tigejdit yellan di tiṭ-ik ?
41 Why do you see the speck of chaff that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?
42Amek ara tiniḍ i gma-k : eǧǧ-iyi ad kkseɣ axeclaw yellan di tiṭ-ik kečč ur neẓri tigejdit yellan di tiṭ-ik ? A bu sin wudmawen, ekkes uqbel tigejdit yellan di tiṭ-ik, imiren aț-țwaliḍ amek ara tekkseḍ axeclaw yellan di tiṭ n gma-k.
42 Or how can you tell your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck of chaff that is in your eye,’ when you yourself don’t see the beam that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck of chaff that is in your brother’s eye.
43Ulac ttejṛa lɛali i d-ițțaken lfakya n diri. Ulac daɣen ttejṛa n diri i d-ițțaken lfakya lɛali.
43 For there is no good tree that brings forth rotten fruit; nor again a rotten tree that brings forth good fruit.
44Ihi mkul ttejṛa, tețwaɛqal s lfakya-ines. Ur d-ntekkes ara lexṛif seg isennanen, ur d-ntekkes ara daɣen tiẓurin seg inijel.
44 For each tree is known by its own fruit. For people don’t gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.
45Argaz yelhan issufuɣ-ed ayen yelhan seg wugerruj yellan deg wul-is, ma d amcum d ayen n diri yellan deg ul-is i d-issufuɣ. Axaṭer d ayen yellan deg wul n wemdan i d-ițeffɣen seg imi-s.
45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.
46Acuɣer i yi-d-tessawalem « A Sidi, a Sidi », ur txeddmem ara ayen i wen-d-qqaṛeɣ ?
46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things which I say?
47A wen-d-iniɣ ar wuɣuṛ ițemcabi wemdan i d-ițțasen ɣuṛ-i, isellen i wawal-iw yerna yeṭṭafaṛ-it :
47 Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I will show you who he is like.
48ițemcabi ɣer yiwen n wemdan yebnan axxam. Yeɣza, yeɣza deg wakal iwakken ad issers lsas-is ɣef wezṛu ; iḥmel-ed wasif, infel-ed ɣef wexxam-nni, meɛna ur t-issenhezz ara imi lsas-is yerṣa, yebna ɣef wezṛu akken ilaq.
48 He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock.
49Ma d win isellen i wawal-iw ur netbiɛ ara ayen i d-nniɣ, ițemcabi ɣer wemdan yebnan axxam ɣef ṛṛmel mbla lsas : iḥmel-ed wasif, infel-ed ɣef wexxam-nni, imiren kan yeɣli , lexsaṛa-s ț-țameqqrant !
49 But he who hears, and doesn’t do, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”
