1After he had finished speaking in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2Yiwen lqebṭan aṛumani yesɛa aqeddac i gḥemmel aṭas ; aqeddac-agi yuḍen, ițmețțat.
2A certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death.
3Mi gesla s Sidna Ɛisa, iceggeɛ ɣuṛ-es kra seg yimeqqranen n wat Isṛail iwakken a d-yas ad isseḥlu aqeddac-is.
3When he heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and save his servant.
4Mi wwḍen ɣer Sidna Ɛisa, ḥellelen-t nnan-as : A Sidi ! Yuklal a s-txedmeḍ lxiṛ agi,
4When they came to Jesus, they begged him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy for you to do this for him,
5axaṭer iḥemmel agdud nneɣ ; d nețța i gebnan lǧameɛ-nneɣ.
5for he loves our nation, and he built our synagogue for us.”
6Sidna Ɛisa yedda yid-sen. Mi qṛib ad yaweḍ ɣer wexxam, lqebṭan-nni iceggeɛ imdukkal-is a s-inin : A Sidi, ur țɛețțib ara iman-ik, ur uklaleɣ ara a d-tkecmeḍ axxam-iw.
6Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof.
7Nekk s yiman-iw daɣen walaɣ ur uklaleɣ ara a n-aseɣ ɣuṛ-ek ; ini-d kan yiwen wawal, aqeddac-iw ad iḥlu.
7Therefore I didn’t even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8Axaṭer sɛiɣ wid i gṭebbiṛen fell-i, sɛiɣ daɣen lɛeskeṛ seddaw lḥekma-w. Ad iniɣ i yiwen ṛuḥ ad iṛuḥ ; i wayeḍ as-ed, a d-yas ; ad iniɣ i wqeddac-iw xdem ayagi, a t-ixdem.
8For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
9Mi gesla Sidna Ɛisa i yimeslayen-agi, itɛeǧǧeb deg-sen. Yezzi ɣer lɣaci yeddan yid-es, yenna-yasen : A wen-d-iniɣ : di tmurt n wat Isṛail meṛṛa ur ufiɣ ara liman yecban wagi.
9When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude who followed him, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel.”
10Widak-nni i d-ițwaceggɛen, mi uɣalen ɣer wexxam ufan aqeddac-nni yeḥla.
10Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well.
11Azekka-nni, Sidna Ɛisa iṛuḥ ɣer yiwet n taddart isem-is Naɛim. Ddan yid-es inelmaden-is d waṭas n lɣaci.
11It happened soon afterwards, that he went to a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him.
12Mi gewweḍ ɣer tewwurt n taddart, atnaya lɣaci wwin-d lmegget a t-meḍlen, d mmi-s n yiwet n taǧǧalt, anagar nețța i tesɛa. Aṭas n imezdaɣ n taddart-nni i d-iddan yid-es.
12Now when he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.
13Mi ț-iwala Sidna Ɛisa, tɣaḍ-it, yenna-yas : Ur țru ara !
13When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, “Don’t cry.”
14Iqeṛṛeb ɣer usenduq n lmegget nni, iḍleq afus-is innul-it, dɣa widak i t-irefden ḥebsen. Yenna : Ay aqcic ! Ekker !
14He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I tell you, arise!”
15Dɣa lmegget-nni ikker-ed, yebda iheddeṛ. Sidna Ɛisa yerra aqcic-nni i yemma-s.
15He who was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.
16Ikcem-iten akk lxuf, bdan țḥemmiden Ṛebbi qqaṛen : « Sidi Ṛebbi yerra-d ddehn-is ɣer wegdud is, nnbi ameqqran ikker-ed gar-aneɣ. »
16Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and, “God has visited his people!”
17Slan s wannect-agi di tmurt n Yahuda meṛṛa akk ț-țmura i s-d izzin.
17This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea, and in all the surrounding region.
18Inelmaden n Yeḥya xebbṛen-t ɣef wayen akk yedṛan.
18The disciples of John told him about all these things.
19Yeḥya iceggeɛ sin seg yinelmaden-is ɣer Sidna Ɛisa iwakken a s-inin ma d nețța i d win akken ara d-yasen, neɣ ilaq ad ṛǧun wayeḍ.
19John, calling to himself two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying, “Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for another?”
20Ewwḍen ɣer Sidna Ɛisa nnan-as : Iceggeɛ-aɣ-ed ɣuṛ-ek Yeḥya aɣeṭṭas iwakken a k-nesteqsi ma d kečč i d win akken ara d-yasen neɣ ilaq a neṛǧu wayeḍ.
20When the men had come to him, they said, “John the Baptizer has sent us to you, saying, ‘Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?’”
21Di teswiɛt-nni ufan Sidna Ɛisa isseḥla aṭas n yemdanen si lehlakat nsen d leɛyubat-nsen, issufeɣ leǧnun seg wid yețwamelken, yerra-d iẓri i waṭas n yiderɣalen.
21In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many who were blind he gave sight.
22Sidna Ɛisa yenna i yinelmaden n Yeḥya : Ṛuḥet erret lexbaṛ i Yeḥya ɣef wayen teẓram d wayen teslam : iderɣalen țwalin, wid ikerfen teddun, wid ihelken lbeṛs ṣeffun, iɛeẓẓugen sellen, lmegtin ḥeggun-d, le xbaṛ n lxiṛ ițwabecceṛ i yigellilen .
22Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
23D aseɛdi win iwumi ur țțiliɣ ara d ugur.
23 Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”
24Mi ṛuḥen inelmaden-nni i d-iceggeɛ Yeḥya, Sidna Ɛisa yebda iheddeṛ i lɣaci ɣef Yeḥya yenna : D acu i tṛuḥem a d-teẓrem deg unezṛuf ? D aɣanim yețhuzzu waḍu ?
24When John’s messengers had departed, he began to tell the multitudes about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
25D acu i tṛuḥem a d-teẓrem ? D amdan yelsan llebsa ifazen ? Wid yețlusun llebsa ifazen, yețɛicin di rrbeḥ atnan di lebṛuj n yigelliden !
25 But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Behold, those who are gorgeously dressed, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.
26Anwa i tṛuḥem a t-id-teẓrem ihi ? D nnbi ? A wen-d-iniɣ ... yugar nnbi !
26 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
27Yeḥya d win i ɣef yura di tira iqedsen : Atan ad zzewreɣ amceggeɛ-inu zdat-ek iwakken a k-iheggi abrid.
27 This is he of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’ Malachi 3:1
28Nniɣ-awen, ulac di ddunit amdan yugaren Yeḥya aɣeṭṭas. Lameɛna amecṭuḥ maḍi di tgelda n Sidi Ṛebbi, d ameqqran fell-as.
28 “For I tell you, among those who are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptizer, yet he who is least in the Kingdom of God is greater than he.”
29Lɣaci meṛṛa mi slan i Yeḥya, setɛeṛfen s lḥeqq n Sidi Ṛebbi, qeblen ad țwaɣeḍsen deg waman, llan gar-asen ula d imekkasen n tebzert ( n leɣṛama ).
29When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared God to be just, having been baptized with John’s baptism.
30Ma d ifariziyen d lɛulama n ccariɛa, ur qbilen ara ayen i sen yebɣa Sidi Ṛebbi, ugin a ten yesseɣḍes Yeḥya.
30But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God, not being baptized by him themselves.
31?er wacu ara metleɣ imdanen n lǧil-agi ? ?er wuɣuṛ i țemcabin ?
31 TR adds “But the Lord said,” “To what then will I liken the people of this generation? What are they like?
32?emcabin ɣer warrac yeqqimen di tejmaɛt, țemsawalen wway gar-asen qqaṛen : Newwet-awen-d ajewwaq ur tecḍiḥem ara, nerna newwi-yawen-d acewwiq n leḥzen ur trum ara.
32 They are like children who sit in the marketplace, and call one to another, saying, ‘We piped to you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned, and you didn’t weep.’
33Yeḥya aɣeṭṭas yusa-d ur itețț aɣṛum ur itess ccṛab, teqqaṛem ițwamlek.
33 For John the Baptizer came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’
34Mmi-s n bunadem yusa-d itețț itess, teqqaṛem : ițxemmim kan ad yečč ad isew, d amdakkul n yimekkasen akk-d yemcumen.
34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man, and a drunkard; a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
35Lameɛna lḥeqq n Sidi Ṛebbi ɛeqlen-t warraw-is, nutni qeblen-t.
35 Wisdom is justified by all her children.”
36Yiwen ufarizi yusa-d ad iɛṛrḍ Sidna Ɛisa ad yečč ɣuṛ-es. Idda yid-es, ikcem ɣer wexxam-is, yeqqim ad yečč.
36One of the Pharisees invited him to eat with him. He entered into the Pharisee’s house, and sat at the table.
37Di taddart-nni tella yiwet n tmeṭṭut yellan d yir tameṭṭut ; mi tesla s Sidna Ɛisa yella deg wexxam n wufarizi-nni, tekcem tewwi yid-es tabuqalt n leɛṭer.
37Behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that he was reclining in the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar of ointment.
38Tekka-d deffir Sidna Ɛisa, teɣli ɣer idaṛṛen-is tețru. Tessebzeg (tesselxes) iḍaṛṛen n Sidna Ɛisa s yimeṭṭawen-is, tesfeḍ-iten s ucebbub-is, tessudun-iten yerna tdehhin-iten s leɛṭeṛ-nni.
38Standing behind at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39Afarizi-nni mi gwala annect-nni, ixemmem deg iman-is yenna : Lemmer argaz-agi d nnbi i gella, yili yeɛqel belli tameṭṭut-agi i t-ițnalen d yir tameṭṭut i tella.
39Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, “This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, that she is a sinner.”
40Sidna Ɛisa yenna i ufarizi-nni : A Semɛun ! Bɣiɣ a k-d-iniɣ yiwen wawal ! Afarizi yerra-yas-d : Ini-d a Sidi !
40Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” He said, “Teacher, say on.”
41Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Illa yiwen umeṛkanti issekray idrimen. Ițțalas i sin yergazen, yiwen yețțalas-as xemsmeyyat alef, wayeḍ xemsin.
41 “A certain lender had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42Imi ur sɛin ara i sin s wacu ara xelṣen, isemmeḥ-asen. Anwa deg-sen ara t-iḥemmlen akteṛ ?
42 When they couldn’t pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?”
43Semɛun afarizi yerra-yas : Ahat d win iwumi i gsumeḥ ṭṭlaba tameqqrant. Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Tesɛiḍ lḥeqq !
43Simon answered, “He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most.” He said to him, “You have judged correctly.”
44Dɣa iwehha ɣer tmeṭṭut-nni, yenna i Semɛun : Twalaḍ tameṭṭut-agi ? Kecmeɣ-d ɣer wexxam-ik, ur iyi-d-tefkiḍ ara aman ad ssirdeɣ iḍaṛṛen-iw, nețțat tessared-iten s yimeṭṭawen-is terna tesfeḍ-iten s ucebbub-is.
44Turning to the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head.
45Kečč ur d-tselmeḍ ara fell-i, nețțat segmi i d-tekcem tessudun deg iḍaṛṛen-iw.
45 You gave me no kiss, but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss my feet.
46Kečč ur tedhineḍ ara aqeṛṛuy-iw ula s zzit, ma d nețțat tesmar-ed leɛṭeṛ ɣef yiḍaṛṛen-iw.
46 You didn’t anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.
47A k-iniɣ : ddnubat-is meṛṛa țwaɛfan as daymi i d-tbeggen leḥmala tameqqrant. Ma d win iwumi yețwaɛfa ciṭuḥ, leḥmala-ines ț-țamecṭuḥt.
47 Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
48Sidna Ɛisa yenna i tmeṭṭut-nni : Atan țwaɛeffan-am ddnubat-im !
48He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49Inebgawen nniḍen bdan qqaṛen deg yiman-nsen : « d acu-t wergaz-agi i gessawḍen iman-is ad yeɛfu ula d ddnubat ? »
49Those who sat at the table with him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50Sidna Ɛisa yenna i tmeṭṭut-nni : Imi tumneḍ yis-i tețțusellkeḍ, ṛuḥ di lehna.
50He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
