¹Mano sūnau, jei priimsi mano žodžius ir paslėpsi širdyje mano įsakymus,

¹My son, if you will receive my words, and store up my commandments within you;

²jei tavo ausis atidžiai klausysis išminties ir širdis sieks supratimo,

²So as to turn your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding;

³jei šauksiesi pažinimo ir pakelsi balsą, prašydamas supratimo,

³Yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding;

⁴jei sieksi jo lyg sidabro ir ieškosi lyg paslėptų lobių,

⁴If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures:

⁵tada tu suprasi Viešpaties baimę ir rasi Dievo pažinimą.

⁵then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” .

⁶Nes Viešpats teikia išmintį, iš Jo burnos ateina pažinimas ir supratimas.

⁶For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

⁷Jis laiko sveiką išmintį teisiesiems, Jis yra skydas doru keliu einantiems.

⁷He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity;

⁸Jis saugo teisingumo takus ir sergi šventųjų kelius.

⁸that he may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of his saints.

⁹Tada tu suprasi teisumą, teisingumą ir bešališkumą bei kiekvieną gerą taką,

⁹Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path.

¹⁰kai išmintis įeis į tavo širdį ir pažinimas bus malonus tavo sielai.

¹⁰For wisdom will enter into your heart. Knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.

¹¹Dėmesingumas sergės tave ir supratimas saugos tave,

¹¹Discretion will watch over you. Understanding will keep you,

¹²kad išgelbėtų nuo pikto kelio, nuo melą kalbančių žmonių,

¹²to deliver you from the way of evil, from the men who speak perverse things;

¹³kurie palieka doros kelią, kad vaikščiotų tamsos keliais,

¹³who forsake the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

¹⁴kurie džiaugiasi, darydami pikta, ir gėrisi nedorėlių iškrypimu,

¹⁴who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perverseness of evil;

¹⁵kurių keliai kreivi ir kurie klaidžioja savo takais;

¹⁵who are crooked in their ways, and wayward in their paths:

¹⁶kad išgelbėtų tave nuo svetimos moters, meilikaujančios savo žodžiais,

¹⁶To deliver you from the strange woman, even from the foreigner who flatters with her words;

¹⁷kuri palieka savo jaunystės vadovą ir užmiršta savo Dievo sandorą.

¹⁷who forsakes the friend of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God:

¹⁸Jos namai veda į mirtį, jos takai­pas mirusiuosius.

¹⁸for her house leads down to death, her paths to the dead.

¹⁹Visi, kurie įeina pas ją, nebegrįžta ir neberanda gyvenimo tako.

¹⁹None who go to her return again, neither do they attain to the paths of life:

²⁰Kad tu vaikščiotum geru keliu ir laikytumeisi teisiųjų tako.

²⁰that you may walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

²¹Nes teisieji gyvens krašte ir nekaltieji pasiliks jame.

²¹For the upright will dwell in the land. The perfect will remain in it.

²²Bet nedorėliai bus pašalinti iš krašto, nusikaltėliai išrauti iš jo.

²²But the wicked will be cut off from the land. The treacherous will be rooted out of it.
