1¶ Korero mai ano a Ihowa ki a Hopa, i mea,
1Also antwortete der HERR dem Hiob und sprach:
2E tohe ana ranei ki te Kaha Rawa te tangata whakatohutohu? Ma te tangata e whakatupehupehu ana ki te Atua, mana e korero mai.
2Will der Tadler mit dem Allmächtigen hadern? Wer Gott zurechtweisen will, antworte nun!
3Ano ra ko Hopa ki a Ihowa; i mea ia,
3Da antwortete Hiob dem HERRN und sprach:
4Nana, ehara noa iho ahau. Ko te aha taku e whakahoki atu ai ki a koe? Ka kopania toku ringa ki toku mangai.
4Siehe, ich bin zu gering; was soll ich Dir antworten? Ich will meine Hand auf meinen Mund legen!
5Kua kotahi taku koreotanga, a e kore ahau e whakahoki kupu atu; a tuarua rawa, otira kahore atu aku.
5Ich habe einmal geredet und kann es nicht verantworten, und zum zweitenmal will ich es nicht mehr tun!
6¶ Katahi ka whakahokia mai e Ihowa ki a Hopa i roto i te tukauati, ka mea,
6Und der HERR antwortete dem Hiob aus dem Wetter und sprach:
7Tena ra, whakatane, whitikiria tou hope, a ka ui atu ahau ki a koe, mau ano e whakaatu mai ki ahau.
7Gürte doch deine Lenden wie ein Mann; ich will dich fragen; sage her!
8Me whakakahore ano ranei e koe taku whakawa? Me whakahe ki ahau kia whakatikaia ai tau?
8Willst du mir mein Recht absprechen, mir Ungerechtigkeit nachweisen, damit du gerecht seiest?
9He ringa pera ranei tou i to te Atua? He reo whatitiri ranei tou, he pera i tona?
9Ist denn dein Arm dem Arme Gottes gleich, oder sprichst du mit Donnerstimme wie er?
10Tena ra, rakai i a koe inaianei ki te rangatiratanga, ki te kororia; tatai i a koe ki te honore, ki te mana.
10Bekleide dich doch mit Macht und Majestät und umgib dich mit Herrlichkeit und Glanz!
11Ringihia atu te puhaketanga o tou riri; tirohia atu nga mea whakakake katoa, whakaititia iho.
11Ergieße deines Zornes Fluten, siehe an jeden Stolzen und demütige ihn!
12Titiro atu ki nga mea whakakake katoa, whakapikoa iho; takahia iho ano hoki te hunga kino i te wahi e tu na ratou.
12Siehe an jeden Stolzen, erniedrige ihn und reiß die Gottlosen herunter!
13Huihuia atu ratou, huna ki te puehu, herea o ratou mata ki te wahi ngaro.
13Begrabe sie miteinander im Staub, umhülle ihre Angesichter mit Finsternis!
14Na ko reira ahau whakaae ai ki a koe, ma tou ringa matau ano koe e whakaora.
14Dann will auch ich dich preisen, daß deine Rechte dir geholfen hat.
15¶ Na whakaaroa a Pehemoto, he mea hanga ngatahi korua naku; e kai ra i te tarutaru, ano he kau.
15Siehe doch das Flußpferd, das ich gemacht habe wie dich: Gras frißt es wie ein Ochs!
16Nana, ko tona kaha kei tona hope, ko tona pakaritanga kei nga uaua o tona kopu.
16Siehe doch, welche Kraft in seinen Lenden liegt und welche Stärke in den Sehnen seines Bauches!
17Ko tona hiawero, ano he hita e tawhiria ana e ia: powhiwhiwhi tonu nga uaua o tona huha.
17Es biegt seinen Schweif wie eine Zeder; die Sehnen seiner Lenden sind fest verschlungen.
18Ko ona wheua, ano he korere parahi; ko ona rara, he poro rino.
18Seine Knochen sind wie eiserne Röhren, seine Schenkel wie geschmiedete Stäbe.
19Ko ia te tino mea nui o nga ara o te Atua: ko tona kaihanga anake hei whakapa i tana hoari ki a ia.
19Es ist der Erstling der Wege Gottes; der es gemacht hat, reichte ihm sein Schwert.

20Denn Futter tragen ihm die Berge, wo alle Tiere des Feldes spielen.

21Unter Lotosgebüschen liegt es, versteckt im Rohr und Sumpf.

22Lotosgebüsche decken es mit ihrem Schatten, die Weiden des Baches umgeben es.
