1लोक त्यांच्या योजना तयार करतात. पण परमेश्वरच त्या योजना प्रत्यक्षात आणतो.
1Of man [are] arrangements of the heart, And from Jehovah an answer of the tongue.
2माणसाला तो जे करतो ते बरोबर आहे असे वाटते. पण माणसाने केलेल्या गोष्टी मागच्या खऱ्या कारणांचा न्यायनिवाडा परमेश्वरच करतो.
2All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, And Jehovah is pondering the spirits.
3तुम्ही जे जे करता त्या सगळ्याच्या मदतीसाठी परमेश्वराकडे वळा म्हणजे तुम्ही यशस्वी व्हाल.
3Roll unto Jehovah thy works, And established are thy purposes,
4परमेश्वराकडे सगळ्यासाठी योजना आहेत. आणि परमेश्वराच्या योजनेत दुष्ट माणसांचा नाश होईल.
4All things hath Jehovah wrought for Himself, And also the wicked [worketh] for a day of evil.
5जो माणूस आपण इतरांपेक्षा चांगले आहोत, असा विचार करतो त्याचा परमेश्वर तिरस्कार करतो. परमेश्वर त्या सर्व गर्विष्ठ लोकांना नक्कीच शिक्षा करील.
5An abomination to Jehovah [is] every proud one of heart, Hand to hand he is not acquitted.
6खरे प्रेम आणि इमानदारी तुम्हाला शुध्द करील. परमेश्वराचा आदर करा म्हणजे तुम्ही वाईटापासून खूप दूर राहाल.
6In kindness and truth pardoned is iniquity, And in the fear of Jehovah Turn thou aside from evil.
7जर एखादा माणूस चांगले आयुष्य जगत असेल, परमेश्वराला खुष करत असेल तर त्या माणसाचे शत्रूदेखील त्याच्याबरोबर शांतता राखतील.
7When a man`s ways please Jehovah, even his enemies, He causeth to be at peace with him.
8योग्य मार्गाने थोडेसे मिळवणे हे फसवणूक करुन खूप मिळवण्यापेक्षा चांगले आहे.
8Better [is] a little with righteousness, Than abundance of increase without justice.
9माणूस त्याला ज्या गोष्टी करायच्या आहेत त्याबद्दलच्या योजना करु शकतो. पण काय घडेल ते मात्र परमेश्वरच ठरवतो.
9The heart of man deviseth his way, And Jehovah establisheth his step.
10राजा बोलतो तेव्हा त्याचे म्हणजे कायदा असतो. त्याचे निर्णय नेहमी योग्य असायला हवेत
10An oath [is] on the lips of a king, In judgment his mouth trespasseth not.
11परमेश्वराला सर्व काटे आणि तराजू योग्य असायला हवे असतात. त्याला सर्व व्यापारातील करार न्यायी असायला हवे असतात.
11A just beam and balances [are] Jehovah`s, His work [are] all the stones of the bag.
12राजे लोक वाईट गोष्टी करणाऱ्यांचा तिरस्कार करतात. चांगुलपणा त्याच्या राज्याला मजबूत करील.
12An abomination to kings [is] doing wickedness, For by righteousness is a throne established.
13राजाला सत्य ऐकायचे असते. राजांना खोटे ने बोलणारे लोक आवडतात.
13The delight of kings [are] righteous lips, And whoso is speaking uprightly he loveth,
14जेव्हा राजा रागावतो तेव्हा तो कुणालाही ठार मारु शकतो. आणि शहाणा माणूस राजाला आनंदी ठेवायचा प्रयत्न करतो.
14The fury of a king [is] messengers of death, And a wise man pacifieth it.
15राजा जेव्हा आनंदी असतो तेव्हा जीवन सगळ्यांसाठी चांगले असते. राजा जर तुमच्यावर खुष असला तर ते वसंतात ढगातून पडणाऱ्या पावसासारखे असते.
15In the light of a king`s face [is] life, And his good-will [is] as a cloud of the latter rain.
16ज्ञान हे सोन्यापेक्षा अधिक किंमती आहे. समजुतदारपणा चांदीपेक्षा अधिक मौल्यवान आहे.
16To get wisdom — how much better than gold, And to get understanding to be chosen than silver!
17चांगले लोक वाईटापासून दूर राहाण्याचा प्रयत्न करीत आपले आयुष्य जगतात. जो माणूस जीवनात काळजी घेतो तो आपल्या आत्म्याचे रक्षण करतो.
17A highway of the upright [is], `Turn from evil,` Whoso is preserving his soul is watching his way.
18जर माणूस गर्विष्ठ असला तर तो सर्वनाशाच्या संकटात असतो. जर एखादा माणूस आपण इतरांपेक्षा चांगले आहोत, असा विचार करत असला तर तो पराभवाच्या संकटात असतो.
18Before destruction [is] pride, And before stumbling — a haughty spirit.`
19विनम्र राहून गरीब लोकांबरोबर राहणे हे जे लोक स्वत:ला इतरांपेक्षा चांगले समजतात, त्यांच्याबरोबर राहून श्रीमंतीचे वाटेकरी होण्यापेक्षा चांगले असते.
19Better is humility of spirit with the poor, Than to apportion spoil with the proud.
20जर एखादा माणूस लोकांच्या शिकवण्याकडे लक्ष देईल तर त्याचा फायदा होईल. आणि जो माणूस परमेश्वरावर विश्वास ठेवतो त्याला आशीर्वाद मिळतो.
20The wise in any matter findeth good, And whoso is trusting in Jehovah, O his happiness.
21माणूस शहाणा आहे की नाही ते लोकांना कळेल. आणि जो माणूस अतिशय काळजीपूर्वक आपले शब्द निवडतो तो ज्ञानात भर घालतो.
21To the wise in heart is called, `Intelligent,` And sweetness of lips increaseth learning.
22ज्यांच्याकडे ज्ञान आहे त्या लोकांना ते खरेखरे आयुष्य देते. पण मूर्ख अधिक मूर्ख व्हायला शिकतात.
22A fountain of life [is] understanding to its possessors, The instruction of fools is folly.
23शहाणा माणूस नेहमी बोलण्याआधी विचार करतो आणि तो जे शब्द बोलतो ते चांगले आणि ऐकण्यायोग्य असतात.
23The heart of the wise causeth his mouth to act wisely, And by his lips he increaseth learning,
24मायेच शब्द मद्यासारखे असतात. त्यांचा स्वीकार करणे सोपे असते आणि ते प्रकृतीसाठी चांगले असतात.
24Sayings of pleasantness [are] a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul, and healing to the bone.
25एखादा मार्ग लोकांना योग्य वाटतो. पण तो मार्ग मृत्यूकडे नेतो.
25There is a way right before a man, And its latter end — ways of death.
26कामगाराची भूक त्याला काम करायला लावते. त्याची भूक त्याला खाण्यासाठी काम करायला लावते.
26A labouring man hath laboured for himself, For his mouth hath caused [him] to bend over it.
27कवडीमोल माणूस वाईट गोष्टींच्या योजना आखतो. त्याचा उपदेश आगीप्रमाणे नाश करतो.
27A worthless man is preparing evil, And on his lips — as a burning fire.
28संकट आणणारे लोक नेहमी समस्या निर्माण करतात. आणि जो माणूस अफवा पसरवतो तो जवळच्या मित्रात समस्या निर्माण करतो.
28A froward man sendeth forth contention, A tale-bearer is separating a familiar friend.
29जो माणूस लवकर रागावतो तो त्याच्या शेजाऱ्याला आमिष दाखवून वळवतो. तो त्यांना वाईट मार्गाने नेतो.
29A violent man enticeth his neighbour, And hath causeth him to go in a way not good.
30जो माणूस डोळे मिचकावतो आणि हसतो तो चुकीच्या आणि वाईट गोष्टींच्या योजना आखतो.
30Consulting his eyes to devise froward things, Moving his lips he hath accomplished evil.
31जी माणसे चांगले आयुष्य जगली त्यांचे पांढरे केस म्हणजे वैभवाचा मुकुट आहे.
31A crown of beauty [are] grey hairs, In the way of righteousness it is found.
32सहनशील असणे हे शक्तिमान सैनिक असण्यापेक्षा चांगले आहे. स्वत:च्या रागाला काबूत ठेवणे हे सबंध शहर आपल्या काबूत आणण्यापेक्षा चांगले आहे.
32Better [is] the slow to anger than the mighty, And the ruler over his spirit than he who is taking a city.
33लोक निर्णय घेण्यासाठी फासे टाकतात. पण निर्णय नेहमी देवाकडून येतात.
33Into the centre is the lot cast, And from Jehovah [is] all its judgment!
