1हे परमेश्वर! मेरो कुराहरू सुन्नु होस्। मेरो शत्रुले मलाई धमास दिएको छ। त्यो देखि मेरो जीवन रक्षा गर्नुहोस्!
1To the Overseer. — A Psalm of David. Hear, O God, my voice, in my meditation, From the fear of an enemy Thou keepest my life,
2मेरो शत्रुहरूका षडयन्त्रहरूबाट मलाई रक्षा गर्नुहोस्। ती कुकर्मीहरूबाट मलाई जोगाउनु होस्।
2Hidest me from the secret counsel of evil doers, From the tumult of workers of iniquity.
3तिनीहरूले मेरो विषयमा नाना थरिका अनुचित कुराहरू गरेकाछन्। तिनीहरूका जिब्रोहरू तरवार जस्ता धारिला छन्, तिनीहरूको तीता वचनहरू काँड झैं तिखा छन्।
3Who sharpened as a sword their tongue, They directed their arrow — a bitter word.
4तब अचानक, भयहीन भएर, आफ्ना सुरक्षित र गुप्त ठाउँहरूबाट ईमान्दारी मानिसहरूमाथि तिनीहरू ताख्दछन्।
4To shoot in secret places the perfect, Suddenly they shoot him, and fear not.
5एक-अर्कामा नराम्रो गर्न तिनीहरू उस्काँउदछन्। तिनीहरू पासो बिछाउने कुराहरू गर्दछन्। तिनीहरू परस्परमा भन्छन्, “कसैले पनि ती पासोहरू देख्नेछैन!”
5They strengthen for themselves an evil thing, They recount of the hiding of snares, They have said, `Who doth look at it?`
6तिनीहरूले पासोहरू लुकाएका छन्। तिनीहरूले शिकार खोजीरहेका हुन्छन्। मानिसहरू एकदम चलाक-धूर्त हुन्छन् तिनीहरूले के सोचिरहेका छन् भन्न वा जान्न गाह्रो छ।
6They search out perverse things, `We perfected a searching search,` And the inward part of man, and the heart [are] deep.
7तर परमेश्वरले पनि आफ्ना “काँडहरू” हान्न सक्नु हुन्छ! अनि तिनीहरूले जान्नु भन्दा अघि नै दुष्टहरू घाइते हुँदछन्।
7And God doth shoot them [with] an arrow, Sudden have been their wounds,
8दुष्ट मानिसहरूले उरूलाई नराम्रो काम गर्ने योजनाहरू तयार पार्दछन्। तर परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूको योजनाहरू नष्ट पारी दिन सक्नुहुन्छ, अनि त्यस्ता नराम्रा कार्यहरू उनीहरूमाथि नै घट्दछ। तब सबैले तिनीहरूलाई देखी छक्क परेर आफ्ना टाउकाहरू हालाउने छन्।
8And they cause him to stumble, Against them [is] their own tongue, Every looker on them fleeth away.
9परमेश्वरले गर्नु भएको काम मानिसहरूले देख्नेछन्। अन्य मानिसहरूलाई तिनीहरूले यस विषयमा बताउने छन्। तब प्रत्येकले परमेश्वरको विषयमा अझ बढी जान्नेछ। कसरी डराउनु पर्ने र आदर गर्नु पर्ने भन्ने कुरा सिक्नेछन्।
9And all men fear, and declare the work of God, And His deed they have considered wisely.
10एक असल मानिस परमप्रभुको सेवा गर्न खुशी हुन्छ। ऊ परमेश्वरमा नै आश्रित हुन्छ अनि जब असल ईमान्दारी मानिसहरूले के भयो भनेर देख्दछ, तिनीहरूले परमेश्वरको गुण गाउँदछन्।
10The righteous doth rejoice in Jehovah, And hath trusted in Him, And boast themselves do all the upright of heart!
