1Huchiin Elipha Teman miin a dawng a, hichiin a chi a;
1Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,
2Mihing Pathian adingin a phatuam thei diam? Kuapeuh a pil amah mah adingin a phatuam ngeia.
2“Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.
3Na diktat, Thilbangkimhihthei adinga kipahna ahi himhim hia? ahihkeileh na lampite na hoihkim sak, amah dia punna hia?
3Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that you are righteous? Or does it benefit him, that you make your ways perfect?
4Nang a honsalha, vaihawmnaa nang toh a lut, amah na kihtak jiak hia?
4Is it for your piety that he reproves you, that he enters with you into judgment?
5Na gitlouhna a lian kei maw? Na thulimlouhna ah leng tawpna a om sam kei hi.
5Isn’t your wickedness great? Neither is there any end to your iniquities.
6Bangmahlou dingin na unau thuchiamte na lata ngala, huan vuaktangte a puansilh uh na suahsaka.
6For you have taken pledges from your brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
7Gim adin dawn dingin tui na pe kei a, huan gilkial adin tanghou na it hi.
7You haven’t given water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry.
8Himahleh mi hat in gam a neia; mi deihthoh a sungah a teng hi.
8But as for the mighty man, he had the earth. The honorable man, he lived in it.
9Khutvuakin meithaite na sawl manga, huan pabeite khutte hihtanin a om hi.
9You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
10Huaijiakin thangte na kim ah a om ua, huan lau guihnain nang honhihbuai hi.
10Therefore snares are around you. Sudden fear troubles you,
11Ahihkeileh khomial, na muh theihlouh, leh tui tampiin nang a honkhuh hi.
11or darkness, so that you can not see, and floods of waters cover you.
12Van sangah Pathian a om ka hia? huan aksite sandan en in, sang hina tel uh e;
12“Isn’t God in the heights of heaven? See the height of the stars, how high they are!
13Huan nang, Pathianin bang a theia? khomial bikbek lakah vai a hawm thei dia hia?
13You say, ‘What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?
14Amaha dingin meipi sahte, a muhlouhna din, khuhna ahi a; huan van kum sungah a vak ahi, na chi.
14Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he doesn’t see. He walks on the vault of the sky.’
15Mi giloute totsa lampi lui na kem ding hia?
15Will you keep the old way, which wicked men have trodden,
16A hun ma ua lak manga oma, a kingakna ua tuiluang banga butkhiak a omte:
16who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream,
17Pathian kianga, Hon pai mangsanin; huan eia dingin Thilbangkimhihtheiin bang a hih theia? chite.
17who said to God, ‘Depart from us;’ and, ‘What can the Almighty do for us?’
18Himahleh a inte uh thil hoihin a dimsak ua: himahleh migiloute thugen kei akipan a gamla hi.
18Yet he filled their houses with good things, but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
19Mi diktatten a mu ua, a kipak ua; huan mihoihten amau a nuihsan ua,
19The righteous see it, and are glad. The innocent ridicule them,
20Chihtaktakin ei dou dinga thoute sat khiakin a om ua, huan amaute laka omlai meiin a hulgaita, chiin.
20saying, ‘Surely those who rose up against us are cut off. The fire has consumed their remnant.’
21Tuin amah kimeltheihpih inla, muang takin omin: Huaiah hoih na kiangah a hongpai ding hi.
21“Acquaint yourself with him, now, and be at peace. Thereby good shall come to you.
22A kam akipanin dan tuh sangin, ka honngen hi, huan na lungtang ah a thute khol khawmin.
22Please receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.
23Thilbangkimhihthei kianga na kik nawn leh, lam kipin na om ding hi; na puaninte akipana gamla pia diktatlouhna na koih mang leh.
23If you return to the Almighty, you shall be built up, if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents.
24Huan na gou leivui ah koih inla, huan luite suangte lakah Ophir dang kaeng;
24Lay your treasure in the dust, the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks.
25Huchiin Thilbangkimhihthei na gou ahi dia, nanga dingin manpha dangka.
25The Almighty will be your treasure, and precious silver to you.
26Huchiin Thilbangkimhihthei ah na kipakin, Pathian kiangah na dak tou ding a hih jiakin.
26For then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and shall lift up your face to God.
27Amah kiangah na thumna na gen dia, aman a honza ding.
27You shall make your prayer to him, and he will hear you. You shall pay your vows.
28Thil khat tungah thupukna bawlin thu na pe dia, huan nanga dia hihkipin a om ding hi; huan na lampite ah khovak a tang ding.
28You shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established to you. Light shall shine on your ways.
29A honsawnpuk chiang un, Thoh touhna a om, na chi ding; huan mi niamkhiak aman a hondam ding hi.Amah a hoihlou nasan a suaktasak dinga: ahi, na khutte sianna jiakin amah suangtaksakin a om ding.
29When they cast down, you shall say, ‘be lifted up.’ He will save the humble person.
30Amah a hoihlou nasan a suaktasak dinga: ahi, na khutte sianna jiakin amah suangtaksakin a om ding.
30He will even deliver him who is not innocent. Yes, he shall be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.”
