1Solomon paunakte. Tapa pilin pa kipak a bawl: Himahleh tapa hai a nu gikna ahi.
1The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father; but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
2Gitlouhna sumten bangmah a lohtak kei: himahleh diktatnain sihna akipan a tankhia.
2Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death.
3TOUPAN mi diktat kha a kialsih a phal kei ding; himahleh migilou akipan a tankhia.
3Yahweh will not allow the soul of the righteous to go hungry, but he thrusts away the desire of the wicked.
4Khut zeol zanga thilhihmi a honggentheia: himahleh mi thanuam khutin hauhsakna a bawl hi.
4He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth.
5Nipi laia lakhawmpa tapa pil ahi: himahleh pawltak huna ihmupa zumhuaina omsak tapa ahi.
5He who gathers in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during the harvest is a son who causes shame.
6Midiktat lu tungah vualjawlnate a oma: himahleh migilou kam hiamgamna in a tuam hi.
6Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
7Midik theihgigena a nuama: himahleh mi gilou min a muat mang ding.
7The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.
8Lungtanga pilin thupiakte a sang dinga: himahleh mihai haihama puk ding.
8The wise in heart accept commandments, but a chattering fool will fall.
9tang taka pai hoihtakin a paia: himahleh a lampite kilawmlousak theih in a om ding hi.
9He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out.
10Amita chiamtehna bawlin lungkham na a omsaka; himahleh mihai haiham a puk ding.
10One winking with the eye causes sorrow, but a chattering fool will fall.
11Mi diktat kam hinna tuikhuk ahi: himahleh hiamgamna in gilou kam a tuam hi.
11The mouth of the righteous is a spring of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
12Huatna in kidouna a tokthou, himahleh itna in tatlekna tengteng a khuh hi.
12Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all wrongs.
13Theihkak theihna neimi muk ah pilna muhin a om: himahleh chiang theihsiamna neilou mi nungjang a ding ahi.
13Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has discernment, but a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.
14Mi pilten theihna a khol khawm ua: himahleh mihai kamin siatna a neih.
14Wise men lay up knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish is near ruin.
15Mi haisa hauhsakna a khopi muanhuai ahi: mi genthei siatna a gentheih uh ahi.
15The rich man’s wealth is his strong city. The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16Mi diktat sepgimna in hinna a juana; gilou punna in khelhna lam.
16The labor of the righteous leads to life. The increase of the wicked leads to sin.
17Bawlhoihna limsak hinna lampi ah a om a: himahleh salhna donlou a paikhial hi.
17He is in the way of life who heeds correction, but he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.
18Huatna sel juautheimukte a kipan ahia; huan mi gensiatna gen mihai ahi.
18He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool.
19Thu tampite ah tatlekna a omlou keia: himahleh a mikte thuzoh in piltakin a hih ahi.
19In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience, but he who restrains his lips does wisely.
20Mi diktat lei dangka hoihpen bang ahi: migilou lungtang a thamatna neuchik ahi.
20The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked is of little worth.
21Mi diktat mukten mi tampi a vaka: himahleh mihaite theihsiamna taksap jiakin a si uh.
21The lips of the righteous feed many, but the foolish die for lack of understanding.
22Toupa vualjawl na in, hauhsakna a bawl a, huan huaiah lungkham na a behlap kei hi.
22Yahweh’s blessing brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.
23Gitlouhna hih mihai a dingin ki sukhalh na bang ahi: huan huchibang in theisiam mi a dingin pilna ahi.
23It is a fool’s pleasure to do wickedness, but wisdom is a man of understanding’s pleasure.
24Mi gilou launa, amah tungah a hongtung ding: midiktat deih phal in a om ding hi.
24What the wicked fear, will overtake them, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.
25Pingpei in a honkhen chiangin, migilou a om nawn kei: himahleh mi diktat khantawn suangphum ahi.
25When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; but the righteous stand firm forever.
26zuthuk in ha a suksiat bangin meikhu in mit a susia a, huchibang mah in amah sawlte a dingin mi zongjaw tuh a om hi.
26As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him.
27Toupa kihtakin nite a sausaka himahleh mi gilou kumte hihtom ahi ding.
27The fear of Yahweh prolongs days, but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28Mi diktat lametna kipahna ahi ding, himahleh mi gilou lametna a mangthang ding.
28The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hope of the wicked will perish.
29Toupa lampi mi tante a dingin kulh muanhuai ahi; himahleh migilou nasemmite a dingin siatna ahi.
29The way of Yahweh is a stronghold to the upright, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
30Mi diktat suan mang ahi ngeikei ding: himahleh mi gilou gamsungah a teng kei ding hi.
30The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not dwell in the land.
31Mi diktat kamin pilna a hontun a: himahleh lei ginalou satkhiak iin a om ding.Mi diktat mukten laktuak bang ahia a theia, himahleh migilou kamin ginatlouhna a gen hi.
31The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off.
32Mi diktat mukten laktuak bang ahia a theia, himahleh migilou kamin ginatlouhna a gen hi.
32The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse.
