¹Să ştii că în zilele din urmă vor fi vremuri grele.

¹But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come.

²Căci oamenii vor fi iubitori de sine, iubitori de bani, lăudăroşi, trufaşi, hulitori, neascultători de părinţi, nemulţămitori, fără evlavie,

²For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

³fără dragoste firească, neînduplecaţi, clevetitori, neînfrînaţi, neîmblînziţi, neiubitori de bine,

³without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,

⁴vînzători, obraznici, îngîmfaţi; iubitori mai mult de plăceri decît iubitori de Dumnezeu;

⁴traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;

⁵avînd doar o formă de evlavie dar tăgăduindu -i puterea. Depărtează-te de oamenii aceştia.

⁵holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power. Turn away from these, also.

⁶Sînt printre ei unii, cari se vîră prin case, şi momesc pe femeile uşuratice îngreuiate de păcate şi frămîntate de felurite pofte,

⁶For some of these are people who creep into houses, and take captive gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,

⁷cari învaţă întotdeauna şi nu pot ajunge niciodată la deplina cunoştinţă a adevărului.

⁷always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

⁸După cum Iane şi Iambre s'au împotrivit lui Moise, tot aşa şi oamenii aceştia se împotrivesc adevărului, ca unii cari sînt stricaţi la minte şi osîndiţi în ce priveşte credinţa.

⁸Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these also oppose the truth; men corrupted in mind, who concerning the faith, are rejected.

⁹Dar nu vor mai înainta; căci nebunia lor va fi arătată tuturor, cum a fost arătată şi a celor doi oameni.

⁹But they will proceed no further. For their folly will be evident to all men, as theirs also came to be.

¹⁰Tu, însă, ai urmărit de aproape învăţătura mea, purtarea mea, hotărîrea mea, credinţa mea, îndelunga mea răbdare, dragostea mea, răbdarea mea,

¹⁰But you did follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness,

¹¹prigonirile şi suferinţele cari au venit peste mine în Antiohia, în Iconia şi în Listra. Ştii ce prigoniri am răbdat; şi totuş Domnul m'a izbăvit din toate.

¹¹persecutions, and sufferings: those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. Out of them all the Lord delivered me.

¹²De altfel, toţi ceice voiesc să trăiască cu evlavie în Hristos Isus, vor fi prigoniţi.

¹²Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

¹³Dar oamenii răi şi înşelători vor merge din rău în mai rău, vor amăgi pe alţii, şi se vor amăgi şi pe ei înşişi.

¹³But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

¹⁴Tu să rămîi în lucrurile, pe cari le-ai învăţat şi de cari eşti deplin încredinţat, căci ştii dela cine le-ai învăţat:

¹⁴But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.

¹⁵din pruncie cunoşti Sfintele Scripturi, cari pot să-ţi dea înţelepciunea care duce la mîntuire, prin credinţa în Hristos Isus.

¹⁵From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁶Toată Scriptura este însuflată de Dumnezeu şi de folos ca să înveţe, să mustre, să îndrepte, să dea înţelepciune în neprihănire,

¹⁶Every Scripture is God-breathed and or, Every writing inspired by God is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,

¹⁷pentruca omul lui Dumnezeu să fie desăvîrşit şi cu totul destoinic pentru orice lucrare bună.

¹⁷that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
