¹Elihu a urmat şi a zis:

¹Elihu also continued, and said,

²,,Aşteaptă puţin, şi voi urma, căci mai am încă de vorbit pentru Dumnezeu.

²“Bear with me a little, and I will show you; for I still have something to say on God’s behalf.

³Îmi voi lua temeiurile de departe, şi voi dovedi dreptatea Ziditorului meu.

³I will get my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

⁴Fii încredinţat, cuvîntările mele nu sînt minciuni, ci ai a face cu un om cu simţăminte curate.

⁴For truly my words are not false. One who is perfect in knowledge is with you.

⁵Dumnezeu este puternic, dar nu leapădă pe nimeni; şi este puternic prin tăria priceperii Lui.

⁵“Behold, God is mighty, and doesn’t despise anyone. He is mighty in strength of understanding.

⁶El nu lasă pe cel rău să trăiască, şi face dreptate celui nenorocit.

⁶He doesn’t preserve the life of the wicked, but gives to the afflicted their right.

⁷Nu-Şi întoarce ochii de asupra celor fără prihană, şi -i pune pe scaunul de domnie cu împăraţii, îi aşează pentru totdeauna ca să domnească.

⁷He doesn’t withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne, he sets them forever, and they are exalted.

⁸Se întîmplă să cadă în lanţuri, şi să fie prinşi în legăturile nenorocirii?

⁸If they are bound in fetters, and are taken in the cords of afflictions,

⁹Le pune înainte faptele lor, fărădelegile lor, mîndria lor.

⁹then he shows them their work, and their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly.

¹⁰Îi înştiinţează ca să se îndrepte, îi îndeamnă să se întoarcă dela nelegiuire.

¹⁰He also opens their ears to instruction, and commands that they return from iniquity.

¹¹Dacă ascultă şi se supun, îşi sfîrşesc zilele în fericire, şi anii în bucurie.

¹¹If they listen and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

¹²Dacă n'ascultă, pier ucişi de sabie, mor în orbirea lor.

¹²But if they don’t listen, they shall perish by the sword; they shall die without knowledge.

¹³Nelegiuiţii se mînie, nu strigă către Dumnezeu cînd îi înlănţuie;

¹³“But those who are godless in heart lay up anger. They don’t cry for help when he binds them.

¹⁴îşi pierd viaţa în tinereţă, mor ca cei desfrînaţi.

¹⁴They die in youth. Their life perishes among the unclean.

¹⁵Dar Dumnezeu scapă pe cel nenorocit prin nenorocirea lui, şi prin suferinţă îl înştiinţează.

¹⁵He delivers the afflicted by their affliction, and opens their ear in oppression.

¹⁶Şi pe tine te va scoate din strîmtoare, ca să te pună la loc larg, în slobozenie deplină, şi masa ta va fi încărcată cu bucate gustoase.

¹⁶Yes, he would have allured you out of distress, into a broad place, where there is no restriction. That which is set on your table would be full of fatness.

¹⁷Dar dacă-ţi aperi pricina ca un nelegiuit, pedeapsa este nedeslipită de pricina ta.

¹⁷“But you are full of the judgment of the wicked. Judgment and justice take hold of you.

¹⁸Supărarea să nu te împingă la batjocură, şi mărimea preţului răscumpărării să nu te ducă în rătăcire!

¹⁸Don’t let riches entice you to wrath, neither let the great size of a bribe turn you aside.

¹⁹Oare ar ajunge strigătele tale să te scoată din necaz, şi chiar toate puterile pe cari le-ai putea desfăşura?

¹⁹Would your wealth sustain you in distress, or all the might of your strength?

²⁰Nu suspina după noapte, care ia popoarele din locul lor.

²⁰Don’t desire the night, when people are cut off in their place.

²¹Fereşte-te să faci rău, căci suferinţa te îndeamnă la rău.

²¹Take heed, don’t regard iniquity; for you have chosen this rather than affliction.

²²Dumnezeu este mare în puterea Lui; cine ar putea să înveţe pe alţii ca El?

²²Behold, God is exalted in his power. Who is a teacher like him?

²³Cine Îi cere socoteală de căile Lui, şi cine îndrăzneşte să -I spună: ,,Faci rău?``

²³Who has prescribed his way for him? Or who can say, ‘You have committed unrighteousness?’

²⁴Nu uita să lauzi faptele Lui, pe cari toţi oamenii trebuie să le mărească!

²⁴“Remember that you magnify his work, whereof men have sung.

²⁵Orice om le priveşte, fiecare muritor le vede de departe.

²⁵All men have looked thereon. Man sees it afar off.

²⁶Iată ce mare e Dumnezeu! Dar noi nu -L putem pricepe, numărul anilor Lui nimeni nu l -a pătruns.

²⁶Behold, God is great, and we don’t know him. The number of his years is unsearchable.

²⁷Căci El trage la El picăturile de apă, le preface în abur şi dă ploaia,

²⁷For he draws up the drops of water, which distill in rain from his vapor,

²⁸pe care norii o strecoară, şi o picură peste mulţimea oamenilor.

²⁸Which the skies pour down and which drop on man abundantly.

²⁹Şi cine poate pricepe ruperea norului, şi bubuitul cortului Său?

²⁹Yes, can any understand the spreading of the clouds, and the thunderings of his pavilion?

³⁰Iată, El Îşi întinde lumina în jurul Lui, şi acoperă adîncimile mării.

³⁰Behold, he spreads his light around him. He covers the bottom of the sea.

³¹Prin aceste mijloace, El judecă popoarele, şi dă belşug de hrană.

³¹For by these he judges the people. He gives food in abundance.

³²Ia fulgerul în mînă, şi -l aruncă asupra protivnicilor Lui.

³²He covers his hands with the lightning, and commands it to strike the mark.

³³Dă de veste că e de faţă printr'unbubuit, şi pînă şi turmele Îi simt apropierea.

³³Its noise tells about him, and the livestock also concerning the storm that comes up.
