¹La auzul acestor lucruri îmi tremură inima de tot, şi sare din locul ei.

¹“Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.

²Ascultaţi, ascultaţi trăsnetul tunetului Său, bubuitul care iese din gura Lui!

²Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.

³Îl rostogoleşte pe toată întinderea cerurilor, şi fulgerul Lui luminează pînă la marginile pămîntului.

³He sends it forth under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.

⁴Apoi se aude un bubuit, tună cu glasul Lui măreţ; şi nu mai opreşte fulgerul, de îndată ce răsună glasul Lui.

⁴After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.

⁵Dumnezeu tună cu glasul Lui în chip minunat; face lucruri mari pe cari noi nu le înţelegem.

⁵God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.

⁶El zice zăpezii: ,Cazi pe pămînt!` Zice acelaş lucru ploii, chiar şi celor mai puternice ploi.

⁶For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth;’ likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain.

⁷Pecetluieşte mîna tuturor oamenilor, pentruca toţi să se recunoască de făpturi ale Lui.

⁷He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it.

⁸Fiara sălbatică se trage într'o peşteră, şi se culcă în vizuina ei.

⁸Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens.

⁹Vijelia vine dela miazăzi, şi frigul, din vînturile dela miazănoapte.

⁹Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north.

¹⁰Dumnezeu, prin suflarea Lui, face ghiaţa, şi micşorează locul apelor mari.

¹⁰By the breath of God, ice is given, and the breadth of the waters is frozen.

¹¹Încarcă norii cu aburi, şi -i risipeşte schinteietori;

¹¹Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.

¹²mişcarea lor se îndreaptă după planurile Lui, pentru împlinirea a tot ce le porunceşte El pe faţa pămîntului locuit.

¹²It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world,

¹³Îi face să pară ca o nuia cu care loveşte pămîntul, sau ca un semn al dragostei Lui.

¹³Whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.

¹⁴Iov, ia aminte la aceste lucruri! Priveşte liniştit minunile lui Dumnezeu!

¹⁴“Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

¹⁵Ştii cum cîrmuieşte Dumnezeu norii, şi cum face să strălucească din ei fulgerul Său?

¹⁵Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?

¹⁶Înţelegi tu plutirea norilor, minunile Aceluia a cărui ştiinţă este desăvîrşită?

¹⁶Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?

¹⁷Ştii pentruce ţi se încălzesc veşmintele, cînd se odihneşte pămîntul de vîntul de miazăzi?

¹⁷You whose clothing is warm, when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?

¹⁸Poţi tu să întinzi cerurile ca El, tari ca o oglindă turnată?

¹⁸Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?

¹⁹Arată-ne ce trebuie să -I spunem. Căci sîntem prea neştiutori ca să -I putem vorbi.

¹⁹Teach us what we shall tell him, for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness.

²⁰Cine -I va da de veste că Îi voi vorbi? Dar care este omul care-şi doreşte pierderea?

²⁰Shall it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?

²¹Acum, fireşte, nu putem vedea lumina soarelui care străluceşte în dosul norilor, dar va trece un vînt şi -l va curăţi;

²¹Now men don’t see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them.

²²dela miază-noapte ne vine aurora, şi ce înfricoşată este măreţia care înconjoară pe Dumnezeu!

²²Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty.

²³Pe Cel Atotputernic nu -L putem ajunge, căci este mare în tărie, dar dreptul şi dreptatea deplină El nu le frînge.

²³We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.

²⁴De aceea oamenii trebuie să se teamă de El; El nu-Şi îndreaptă privirile spre cei ce se cred înţelepţi.``

²⁴Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”
