¹Domnul, a vorbit lui Iov, şi a zis:

¹Moreover Yahweh answered Job,

²,,Eşti încredinţat acum tu, care vorbeşti împotriva Celui Atotputernic? Tu care mustri pe Dumnezeu, mai ai vreun răspuns de dat?``

²“Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.”

³Iov a răspuns Domnului, şi a zis:

³Then Job answered Yahweh,

⁴,,Iată, eu sînt prea mic; ce să-Ţi răspund? Îmi pun mîna la gură.

⁴“Behold, I am of small account. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.

⁵Am vorbit odată, şi nu voi mai răspunde; de două ori, şi nu voi mai adăuga nimic.``

⁵I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”

⁶Domnul a răspuns lui Iov din mijlocul furtunii, şi a zis:

⁶Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind,

⁷,,Încinge-ţi mijlocul ca un viteaz; ca Eu să te întreb, şi tu să Mă înveţi.

⁷“Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.

⁸Vrei să nimiceşti pînă şi dreptatea Mea? Şi să Mă osîndeşti, ca să-ţi scoţi dreptatea?

⁸Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?

⁹Ai tu un braţ ca al lui Dumnezeu, şi un glas de tunet ca al Lui?

⁹Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?

¹⁰Împodobeşte-te cu măreţie şi mărime, îmbracă-te cu strălucire şi cu slavă!

¹⁰“Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.

¹¹Varsă-ţi valurile mîniei tale, şi doboară cu o privire pe cei trufaşi!

¹¹Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.

¹²Smereşte cu o privire pe cei trufaşi, zdrobeşte pe loc pe cei răi,

¹²Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place.

¹³ascunde -i pe toţi împreună în ţărînă, înveleşte-le faţa în întunerec!

¹³Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place.

¹⁴Şi atunci voi aduce şi Eu lauda puterii dreptei tale.

¹⁴Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.

¹⁵Uită-te la ipopotamul, căruia i-am dat viaţă ca şi ţie! El mănîncă iarbă ca boul.

¹⁵“See now, behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.

¹⁶Uită-te ce tărie are în coapse, şi ce putere are în muşchii pîntecelui său!

¹⁶Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly.

¹⁷Îşi îndoaie coada tare ca un cedru, şi vinele coapselor lui sînt întreţăsute.

¹⁷He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together.

¹⁸Oasele lui sînt ca nişte ţevi de aramă, mădularele lui sînt ca nişte drugi de fer.

¹⁸His bones are like tubes of brass. His limbs are like bars of iron.

¹⁹El este cea mai mare dintre lucrările lui Dumnezeu. Cel ce l -a făcut l -a înzestrat cu o suliţă..

¹⁹He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword.

²⁰El îşi găseşte hrana în munţi, unde se joacă toate fiarele cîmpului.

²⁰Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play.

²¹Se culcă supt lotus, în mijlocul trestiilor şi mlaştinilor.

²¹He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the marsh.

²²Desişul lotusului îl acopere cu umbra lui, sălciile pîrîului îl înconjoară.

²²The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him.

²³Dacă se întîmplă ca rîul să iasă din matcă, el nu fuge: chiar de s'ar năpusti Iordanul în gîtlejul lui, el ar rămînea liniştit.

²³Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn’t tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.

²⁴Crezi că -l poţi prinde lovindu -l în faţă? Sau crezi că -i vei putea străpunge nasul cu ajutorul laţurilor?

²⁴Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?
