¹(Un psalm al lui Asaf.) Dumnezeu, da, Dumnezeu, Domnul, vorbeşte, şi cheamă pămîntul, dela răsăritul soarelui pînă la asfinţitul lui.

¹The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, speaks, and calls the earth from sunrise to sunset.

²Din Sion, care este întruparea frumuseţei desăvîrşite, de acolo străluceşte Dumnezeu.

²Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.

³Dumnezeul nostru vine şi nu tace. Înaintea Lui merge un foc mistuitor, şi împrejurul Lui o furtună puternică.

³Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him.

⁴El strigă spre ceruri sus, şi spre pămînt, ca să judece pe poporul Său:

⁴He calls to the heavens above, to the earth, that he may judge his people:

⁵,,Strîngeţi-Mi pe credincioşii Mei, care au făcut legămînt cu Mine prin jertfă!`` -

⁵“Gather my saints together to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”

⁶Atunci cerurile vor vesti dreptatea Lui, căci Dumnezeu este cel ce judecă. -

⁶The heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge. Selah.

⁷Ascultă, poporul Meu, şi voi vorbi; ascultă, Israele, şi te voi înştiinţa. Eu sînt Dumnezeu, Dumnezeul tău.

⁷“Hear, my people, and I will speak; Israel, and I will testify against you. I am God, your God.

⁸Nu pentru jertfele tale te mustru: căci arderile tale de tot sînt necurmat înaintea Mea.

⁸I don’t rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me.

⁹Nu voi lua tauri din casa ta, nici ţapi din staulele tale.

⁹I have no need for a bull from your stall, nor male goats from your pens.

¹⁰Căci ale Mele sînt toate dobitoacele pădurilor, toate fiarele munţilor cu miile lor.

¹⁰For every animal of the forest is mine, and the livestock on a thousand hills.

¹¹Eu cunosc toate păsările de pe munţi, şi tot ce se mişcă pe cîmp este al Meu.

¹¹I know all the birds of the mountains. The wild animals of the field are mine.

¹²Dacă Mi-ar fi foame, nu ţi-aş spune ţie, căci a mea este lumea şi tot ce cuprinde ea.

¹²If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.

¹³Oare mănînc Eu carnea taurilor? Oare beau Eu sîngele ţapilor?

¹³Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

¹⁴Adu ca jertfă lui Dumnezeu mulţămiri, şi împlineşte-ţi juruinţele făcute Celui Prea Înalt.

¹⁴Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High.

¹⁵Cheamă-Mă în ziua necazului, şi Eu te voi izbăvi, iar tu Mă vei proslăvi!

¹⁵Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

¹⁶Dumnezeu zice însă celui rău: ,,Ce tot înşiri tu legile Mele, şi ai în gură legămîntul Meu,

¹⁶But to the wicked God says, “What right do you have to declare my statutes, that you have taken my covenant on your lips,

¹⁷cînd tu urăşti mustrările, şi arunci cuvintele Mele înapoia ta?

¹⁷since you hate instruction, and throw my words behind you?

¹⁸Dacă vezi un hoţ, te uneşti cu el, şi te însoţeşti cu preacurvarii.

¹⁸When you saw a thief, you consented with him, and have participated with adulterers.

¹⁹Dai drumul gurii la rău, şi limba ta urzeşte vicleşuguri.

¹⁹“You give your mouth to evil. Your tongue frames deceit.

²⁰Stai şi vorbeşti împotriva fratelui tău, cleveteşti pe fiul mamei tale.

²⁰You sit and speak against your brother. You slander your own mother’s son.

²¹Iată ce ai făcut, şi Eu am tăcut. Ţi-ai închipuit că Eu sînt ca tine. Dar te voi mustra, şi îţi voi pune totul supt ochi!

²¹You have done these things, and I kept silent. You thought that I was just like you. I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes.

²²Luaţi seama dar, voi cari uitaţi pe Dumnezeu, ca nu cumva să vă sfăşii, şi să nu fie nimeni să vă scape.

²²“Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you into pieces, and there be none to deliver.

²³Cine aduce mulţămiri, ca jertfă, acela Mă proslăveşte, şi celui ce veghează asupra căii lui, aceluia îi voi arăta mîntuirea lui Dumnezeu.

²³Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, and prepares his way so that I will show God’s salvation to him.”
