¹Celce stă supt ocrotirea Celui Prea Înalt, şi se odihneşte la umbra Celui Atoputernic,

¹He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

²zice despre Domnul: ,,El este locul meu de scăpare, şi cetăţuia mea, Dumnezeul meu în care mă încred!``

²I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”

³Da, El te scapă de laţul vînătorului, de ciumă şi de pustiirile ei.

³For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.

⁴El te va acoperi cu penele Lui, şi te vei ascunde supt aripile Lui. Căci scut şi pavăză este credincioşia Lui!

⁴He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.

⁵Nu trebuie să te temi nici de groaza din timpul nopţii, nici de săgeata care sboară ziua,

⁵You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day;

⁶nici de ciuma, care umblă în întunerec, nici de molima, care bîntuie ziua nameaza mare.

⁶nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday.

⁷O mie să cadă alături de tine, şi zece mii la dreapta ta, dar de tine nu se va apropia.

⁷A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you.

⁸Doar vei privi cu ochii, şi vei vedea răsplătirea celor răi.

⁸You will only look with your eyes, and see the recompense of the wicked.

⁹Pentrucă zici: ,,Domnul este locul meu de adăpost!`` şi faci din Cel Prea Înalt turnul tău de scăpare,

⁹Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,

¹⁰de aceea nici o nenorocire nu te va ajunge, nici o urgie nu se va apropia de cortul tău.

¹⁰no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.

¹¹Căci El va porunci îngerilor Săi să te păzească în toate căile tale;

¹¹For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.

¹²şi ei te vor duce pe mîni, ca nu cumva să-ţi loveşti piciorul de vreo piatră.

¹²They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone.

¹³Vei păşi peste lei şi peste năpîrci, şi vei călca peste pui de lei şi peste şerpi. -

¹³You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot.

¹⁴,,Fiindcă Mă iubeşte-zice Domnul-deaceea îl voi izbăvi; îl voi ocroti, căci cunoaşte Numele Meu.

¹⁴“Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name.

¹⁵Cînd Mă va chema, îi voi răspunde; voi fi cu el în strîmtorare, îl voi izbăvi şi -l voi proslăvi.

¹⁵He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.

¹⁶Îl voi sătura cu viaţă lungă, şi -i voi arăta mîntuirea Mea``.

¹⁶I will satisfy him with long life, and show him my salvation.”
