1Ale Duch hovorí výslovne, že v neskorších časoch odstúpia niektorí od viery, ktorí budú počúvať bludných duchov a učenia démonov,
1And the Spirit expressly speaketh, that in latter times shall certain fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons,
2hovoriacich v pokrytstve lož, majúci žhavo poznačené vlastné svedomie,
2in hypocrisy speaking lies, being seared in their own conscience,
3ktorí budú zbraňovať ženiť sa a prikazovať zdržovať sa pokrmov, ktoré Bôh stvoril na požívanie s ďakovaním pre veriacich a poznavších pravdu.
3forbidding to marry — to abstain from meats that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those believing and acknowledging the truth,
4Lebo každé stvorenie Božie je dobré, a nič nie je na zahodenie, čo sa prijíma z ruky Božej s ďakovaním,
4because every creature of God [is] good, and nothing [is] to be rejected, with thanksgiving being received,
5lebo sa posväcuje slovom Božím a modlitbou.
5for it is sanctified through the word of God and intercession.
6Keď budeš toto predkladať bratom, budeš dobrým služobníkom Ježiša Krista, kŕmeným slovami viery a dobrého učenia, ktoré si doteraz nasledoval.
6These things placing before the brethren, thou shalt be a good ministrant of Jesus Christ, being nourished by the words of the faith, and of the good teaching, which thou didst follow after,
7Ale obecné a babské bájky odmietni a cvič sa v pobožnosti.
7and the profane and old women`s fables reject thou, and exercise thyself unto piety,
8Lebo telesné cvičenie je na málo čo užitočné, ale pobožnosť je na všetko užitočná majúc zasľúbenie terajšieho i budúceho života.
8for the bodily exercise is unto little profit, and the piety is to all things profitable, a promise having of the life that now is, and of that which is coming;
9Verné je to slovo a hodno každého prijatia.
9stedfast [is] the word, and of all acceptation worthy;
10Lebo nato i pracujeme i zápasíme i pohanenia nesieme, že sa nadejeme na živého Boha, ktorý je spasiteľom všetkých ľudí a najmä verných.
10for for this we both labour and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is Saviour of all men — especially of those believing.
11Prikazuj to a uč!
11Charge these things, and teach;
12Nech nikto nepohŕda tvojou mladosťou, ale buď príkladom verných v slove, obcovaní, v láske, v duchu, vo viere, mravnej čistote.
12let no one despise thy youth, but a pattern become thou of those believing in word, in behaviour, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity;
13Dokiaľ neprijdem, buď bedlivý čítania, napomínania, učenia.
13till I come, give heed to the reading, to the exhortation, to the teaching;
14Nezanedbávaj daru milosti, ktorý je v tebe a ktorý ti je daný proroctvom so vzkladaním rúk starších sboru.
14be not careless of the gift in thee, that was given thee through prophecy, with laying on of the hands of the eldership;
15Na to maj starosť, v tom buď, aby tvoj pokrok bol zrejmý vo všetkom.
15of these things be careful; in these things be, that thy advancement may be manifest in all things;
16Maj pozor na seba i na učenie, zotrvávaj v tom. Lebo keď to budeš robiť, zachrániš aj seba aj tých, ktorí ťa počúvajú.
16take heed to thyself, and to the teaching; remain in them, for this thing doing, both thyself thou shalt save, and those hearing thee.
