¹Job pa odgovori in reče:

¹Then Job answered,

²Kako lepo si podprl šibkega, kako si pomagal rami slabotnega,

²“How have you helped him who is without power! How have you saved the arm that has no strength!

³kako si izvrstno svetoval njemu, ki nima modrosti, in temeljitega znanja obilo pokazal!

³How have you counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!

⁴Komu si govoril besede, in čigav duh je šel iz tebe?

⁴To whom have you uttered words? Whose spirit came forth from you?

⁵Mrtvi strepetavajo pred Bogom globoko pod vodami in njih prebivalci.

⁵“Those who are deceased tremble, those beneath the waters and all that live in them.

⁶Smrtna država je odkrita pred Njim in peklenska globočina nima pokrova.

⁶ Sheol Sheol is the lower world or the grave. is naked before God, and Abaddon Abaddon means Destroyer. has no covering.

⁷On razteza severno nebo čez praznino in zemljo obeša na ničemer.

⁷He stretches out the north over empty space, and hangs the earth on nothing.

⁸Vkup veže vode v oblakih svojih, in oblačje se pod njimi ne razdere.

⁸He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not burst under them.

⁹Zastira lice prestola svojega, ko ob njem razgrinja oblake svoje.

⁹He encloses the face of his throne, and spreads his cloud on it.

¹⁰Zakrožil je mejo na površju vodá do zadnjega kraja, kjer mejita svetloba in tema.

¹⁰He has described a boundary on the surface of the waters, and to the confines of light and darkness.

¹¹Stebrovi neba se stresajo in se groze od njegovega karanja.

¹¹The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his rebuke.

¹²Po svoji moči razburja morje in po svoji previdnosti razbija morsko pošast.

¹²He stirs up the sea with his power, and by his understanding he strikes through Rahab.

¹³Duh njegov razvedruje nebo, roka njegova je prebodla bežečega zmaja.Glej, to je majhen obris dejanja Njegovega; in kako rahlo šepetanje, ki ga slišimo o Njem! A grmenje Njegove vsemogočnosti kdo more razumeti?

¹³By his Spirit the heavens are garnished. His hand has pierced the swift serpent.

¹⁴Glej, to je majhen obris dejanja Njegovega; in kako rahlo šepetanje, ki ga slišimo o Njem! A grmenje Njegove vsemogočnosti kdo more razumeti?

¹⁴Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways. How small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?”
