1The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, speaks, and calls the earth from sunrise to sunset.
2S Siona, najvišje lepote, se je zasvetil Bog.
2Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.
3Pride Bog naš in nikar ne bo molčal; ogenj požirajoč gre pred njim in okrog njega silen vihar.
3Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him.
4Nebesom kliče odzgoraj in zemlji, da sodi ljudstvo svoje:
4He calls to the heavens above, to the earth, that he may judge his people:
5„Zberite mi svetnike moje, ki so storili zavezo z menoj pri daritvi!“
5“Gather my saints together to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”
6In nebesa oznanjajo pravičnost njegovo, kajti Bog je sodnik. (Sela.)
6The heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge. Selah.
7Čuj, ljudstvo moje, in govoril bom, o Izrael, in zoper tebe bom pričal! Bog, tvoj Bog sem jaz.
7“Hear, my people, and I will speak; Israel, and I will testify against you. I am God, your God.
8Nočem te grajati zavoljo daritev tvojih, saj žgalne daritve tvoje so vedno pred menoj.
8I don’t rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me.
9Ni mi treba jemati iz tvoje hiše junca, ne kozličev iz tvojih ograj.
9I have no need for a bull from your stall, nor male goats from your pens.
10Ker moja je vsaka zver v gozdih, živali na tisočerih gorah.
10For every animal of the forest is mine, and the livestock on a thousand hills.
11Vso perutnino gorsko poznam, in kar se poja po polju, je v moji oblasti.
11I know all the birds of the mountains. The wild animals of the field are mine.
12Ko bi bil gladen, ne rekel bi tebi, ker moja je zemlja vesoljna in vse, kar je na njej.
12If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.
13Ali mar jem meso volovsko, ali pijem kozlov kri?
13Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14Hvalne daritve prinašaj Bogu in Najvišjemu opravljaj obljube svoje.
14Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High.
15In kliči me v dan stiske, rešil te bom, in ti me boš častil.
15Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”
16Toda krivičniku pravi Bog: Kaj da naštevaš zapovedi moje in jemlješ zavezo mojo v usta svoja?
16But to the wicked God says, “What right do you have to declare my statutes, that you have taken my covenant on your lips,
17Saj ti sovražiš svarjenje in besede moje si vrgel vzad zase.
17since you hate instruction, and throw my words behind you?
18Kadar vidiš tatú, se ž njim hitro sprijazniš in s prešeštniki se družiš.
18When you saw a thief, you consented with him, and have participated with adulterers.
19Usta svoja rabiš za hudo in z jezikom svojim spletaš zvijačo.
19“You give your mouth to evil. Your tongue frames deceit.
20Sedé obrekuješ svojega brata, matere svoje sina spravljaš v sramoto.
20You sit and speak against your brother. You slander your own mother’s son.
21To si delal, in ker sem molčal, si menil, da sem prav tebi enak. A karal te bom in vse ti postavil pred oči.
21You have done these things, and I kept silent. You thought that I was just like you. I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes.
22Pazite vendar na to vi, ki zabite Boga, da ne zgrabim, in ga ne bode, ki bi rešil.Kdor daruje hvalo, me prav časti, in kdor uravnava pot svojo, mu pokažem zveličanje Božje.
22“Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you into pieces, and there be none to deliver.
23Kdor daruje hvalo, me prav časti, in kdor uravnava pot svojo, mu pokažem zveličanje Božje.
23Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, and prepares his way so that I will show God’s salvation to him.”
