1А Дух разговетно говори да ће у последња времена одступити неки од вере слушајући лажне духове и науке ђаволске,
1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2У лицемерју лажа, жигосаних на својој савести,
2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3Који забрањују женити се, и заповедају уздржавати се од јела која Бог створи за јело са захвалношћу вернима и онима који познаше истину.
3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4Јер је свако створење Божије добро и ништа није на одмет кад се прима са захвалношћу.
4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5Јер се освећује речју Божијом и молитвом.
5For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
6Ово све казујући браћи бићеш добар слуга Исуса Христа, одгајен речима вере и добром науком коју си примио.
6If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
7А поганих и бапских гаталица клони се; а обучавај се у побожности.
7But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
8Јер телесно обучавање мало је корисно, а побожност је корисна за свашта, имајући обећање живота садашњег и оног који иде.
8For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
9Ово је истинита реч и достојна сваког примања.
9This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
10Јер се зато и трудимо и бивамо срамотни, јер се уздамо у Бога Живог, који је Спаситељ свим људима, а особито вернима.
10For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
11Ово заповедај и учи.
11These things command and teach.
12Нико да не постане немарљив за твоју младост; него буди углед вернима у речи, у живљењу, у љубави, у духу, у вери, у чистоти.
12Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13Докле дођем пази на читање, утешавање и учење.
13Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14Не пусти у немар дар у себи који ти је дан по пророштву метнувши старешине руке на тебе.
14Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
15У овом се поучавај, у овом стој, да се напредак твој покаже у свему.
15Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
16Пази на себе и на науку, и стој у томе; јер ово чинећи спашћеш и самог себе и оне који те слушају.
16Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
