1The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
2Шта, сине мој, шта, сине утробе моје, и шта, сине завета мојих?
2What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
3Не дај крепост своју женама, ни путеве своје онима што сатиру цареве.
3Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
4Није за цареве, Лемуило, није за цареве да пију вино, ни за кнезове да пију силовито пиће,
4It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
5Да не би пијући заборавио уредбе, и изменио правицу коме невољнику.
5Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
6Подајте силовито пиће ономе који хоће да пропадне, и вино онима који су тужног срца;
6Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
7Нека се напије и заборави своје сиромаштво, и да се више не сећа своје муке.
7Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8Отварај уста своја за немога, за ствар свих намењених смрти.
8Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
9Отварај уста своја, суди право, дај правицу невољноме и убогоме.
9Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
10Ко ће наћи врсну жену? Јер вреди више него бисер.
10Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11Ослања се на њу срце мужа њеног, и добитка неће недостајати.
11The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12Чини му добро, а не зло, свега века свог.
12She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13Тражи вуне и лана, и ради по вољи рукама својим.
13She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14Она је као лађа трговачка, из далека доноси храну своју.
14She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15Устаје док је још ноћ, даје храну чељади својој и посао девојкама својим.
15She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16Мисли о њиви, и узме је, од рада руку својих сади виноград.
16She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17Опасује снагом бедра своја и крепи мишице своје.
17She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18Види како јој је добра радња, не гаси јој се ноћу жижак.
18She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19Рукама својим маша се преслице, и прстима својим држи вретено.
19She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20Руку своју отвара сиромаху, и пружа руке убогоме.
20She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21Не боји се снега за своју чељад, јер сва чељад њена има по двоје хаљине.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22Покриваче сама себи гради, тако платно и скерлет одело јој је
22She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23Зна се муж њен на вратима кад седи са старешинама земаљским.
23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24Кошуље гради и продаје, и појасе даје трговцу.
24She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25Одело јој је крепост и лепота, и осмева се на време које иде.
25Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26Уста своја отвара мудро и на језику јој је наука блага.
26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27Пази на владање чељади своје, и хлеба у лењости не једе.
27She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28Синови њени подижу се и благосиљају је; муж њен такође хвали је;
28Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29Многе су жене биле врсне, али ти их надвишујеш све.
29Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30Љупкост је преварна и лепота ташта; жена која се боји Господа, она заслужује похвалу.
30Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31Подајте јој од плода руку њених, и нека је хвале на вратима дела њена.
31Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
