²And Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children; and Eleazar and Ithamar exercised the priesthood.

³Och David jämte Sadok, av Eleasars söner, och Ahimelek, av Itamars söner, indelade dem och bestämde den ordning i vilken de skulle göra tjänst.

³And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their office in their service.

⁴Då nu Eleasars söner befunnos hava flera huvudmän än Itamars söner, indelade man dem så, att Eleasars söner fingo sexton huvudmän för sina familjer och Itamars söner åtta huvudmän för sina familjer.

⁴And there were more head-men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar, and [thus] were they divided: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen heads of fathers' houses, and eight of the sons of Ithamar according to their fathers' houses.

⁵Man indelade dem genom lottkastning, de förra såväl som de senare, ty helgedomens furstar och Guds furstar togos både av Eleasars söner och av Itamars söner.

⁵And they were divided by lot, one with another; for the princes of the sanctuary and the princes of God were of the sons of Eleazar and of the sons of Ithamar.

¹⁸den tjugutredje for Delaja, den tjugufjärde för Maasja.

¹⁸the twenty-third for Delaiah, the twenty-fourth for Maaziah.

¹⁹Detta blev den ordning i vilken de skulle göra tjänst, när de gingo in i HERRENS hus, såsom det var föreskrivet för dem genom deras fader Aron, i enlighet med vad HERREN, Israels Gud, hade bjudit honom.

¹⁹This is their ordering in their service to come into the house of Jehovah, according to their ordinance, through Aaron their father, as Jehovah the God of Israel had commanded him.

²⁵Mikas broder var Jissia; till Jissias barn hörde Sakarja.

²⁵the brother of Micah was Jishijah; of the sons of Jishijah, Zechariah.

²⁶Meraris barn voro Maheli och Musi, Jaasia-Benos söner.

²⁶The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; the sons of Jaaziah, his son.

²⁷Meraris barn voro dessa av Jaasia-Beno, och vidare Soham, Sackur och Ibri.

²⁷The sons of Merari by Jaaziah his son: Shoham, and Zaccur, and Ibri.

²⁸Mahelis son var Eleasar, men denne hade inga söner.

²⁸Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.

²⁹Till Kis, det är Kis' barn, hörde Jerameel.

²⁹Of Kish, the sons of Kish: Jerahmeel.

³⁰Men Musis barn voro Maheli, Eder och Jerimot. Dessa voro leviternas barn, efter deras familjer.

³⁰And the sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.

³¹Också dessa kastade lott likasåväl som deras bröder, Arons söner, i närvaro av konung David, Sadok, Ahimelek och huvudmännen för prästernas och leviternas familjer, huvudmännen för familjerna likasåväl som deras yngsta bröder.

³¹These likewise cast lots just as their brethren the sons of Aaron before David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief fathers of the priests and Levites, -- the chief fathers just as the youngest of their brethren.
