¹Jublen i HERREN, I rättfärdige; lovsång höves de redliga.

¹Exult, ye righteous, in Jehovah: praise is comely for the upright.

²Tacken HERREN på harpa, lovsjungen honom till tiosträngad psaltare.

²Give thanks unto Jehovah with the harp; sing psalms unto him with the ten-stringed lute.

³Sjungen honom en ny sång, spelen skönt med jubelklang.

³Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud sound.

⁴Ty HERRENS ord är rätt, och allt vad han gör är gjort i trofasthet.

⁴For the word of Jehovah is right, and all his work is in faithfulness.

⁵Han älskar rättfärdighet och rätt; jorden är full av HERRENS nåd.

⁵He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the loving-kindness of Jehovah.

⁶Himmelen är gjord genom HERRENS ord och all dess här genom hans muns anda.

⁶By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

⁷Han samlar havets vatten såsom i en hög; han lägger djupen i deras förvaringsrum.

⁷He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap; he layeth up the deeps in storehouses.

⁸Hela jorden frukte HERREN; för honom bäve alla som bo på jordens krets.

⁸Let all the earth fear Jehovah; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

⁹Ty han sade, och det vart; han bjöd, och det stod där.

⁹For *he* spoke, and it was [done]; *he* commanded, and it stood fast.

¹⁰HERREN gjorde hedningarnas råd om intet, han lät folkens tankar komma på skam.

¹⁰Jehovah frustrateth the counsel of the nations; he maketh the thoughts of the peoples of none effect.

¹¹Men HERRENS råd består evinnerligen, hans hjärtas tankar från släkte till släkte.

¹¹The counsel of Jehovah standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.

¹²Saligt är det folk vars Gud HERREN är, det folk som han har utvalt till arvedel åt sig.

¹²Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah, the people that he hath chosen for his inheritance!

¹³Ja, från himmelen skådade HERREN ned, han såg alla människors barn.

¹³Jehovah looketh from the heavens; he beholdeth all the sons of men:

¹⁴Från sin boning blickade han ned till alla dem som bo på jorden,

¹⁴From the place of his habitation he looketh forth upon all the inhabitants of the earth;

¹⁵han som har danat allas deras hjärtan, han som aktar på alla deras verk.

¹⁵He who fashioneth the hearts of them all, who considereth all their works.

¹⁶En konung segrar icke genom sin stora styrka, en hjälte räddas icke genom sin stora kraft.

¹⁶The king is not saved by the multitude of [his] forces; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

¹⁷Förgäves väntar man sig seger genom hästar, med all sin styrka rädda de icke.

¹⁷The horse is a vain thing for safety; neither doth he deliver by his great power.

¹⁸Se, HERRENS öga är vänt till dem som frukta honom, till dem som hoppas på hans nåd;

¹⁸Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his loving-kindness,

¹⁹han vill rädda deras själ från döden och behålla dem vid liv i hungerns tid.

¹⁹To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

²⁰Vår själ väntar efter HERREN; han är vår hjälp och sköld.

²⁰Our soul waiteth for Jehovah: he is our help and our shield.

²¹Ty i honom gläder sig vårt hjärta, vi förtrösta på hans heliga namn.

²¹For in him shall our heart rejoice, because we have confided in his holy name.

²²Din nåd, HERRE, vare över oss, såsom vi hoppas på dig.

²²Let thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, according as we have hoped in thee.
