1เมื่อดาวิดเสด็จเลยยอดเขาไปหน่อยหนึ่ง ดูเถิด ศิบามหาดเล็กของเมฟีโบเชทก็เข้ามาเฝ้าพระองค์ มีลาคู่หนึ่งผูกอานพร้อม บรรทุกขนมปังสองร้อยก้อน องุ่นแห้งร้อยพวง และผลไม้ฤดูร้อนอีกร้อยหนึ่ง กับน้ำองุ่นหนึ่งถุงหนัง
1When David was a little past the top, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of donkeys saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and one hundred clusters of raisins, and one hundred summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.
2กษัตริย์ตรัสกับศิบาว่า "เจ้านำสิ่งเหล่านี้มาทำไม" ศิบาทูลตอบว่า "ลาคู่นั้นเพื่อราชวงศ์จะได้ทรง ขนมปังและผลไม้ฤดูร้อนสำหรับชายหนุ่มรับประทาน และน้ำองุ่นเพื่อผู้ที่อ่อนเปลี้ยอยู่กลางถิ่นทุรกันดารจะได้ดื่ม"
2The king said to Ziba, What do you mean by these? Ziba said, The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as are faint in the wilderness may drink.
3กษัตริย์ตรัสว่า "บุตรเจ้านายของเจ้าอยู่ที่ไหนเล่า" ศิบากราบทูลกษัตริย์ว่า "ดูเถิด ท่านพักอยู่ในเยรูซาเล็ม เพราะท่านว่า `วันนี้วงศ์วานอิสราเอลจะคืนราชอาณาจักรบิดาของเราให้แก่เรา'"
3The king said, “Where is your master’s son?” Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is staying in Jerusalem; for he said, ‘Today the house of Israel will restore me the kingdom of my father.’”
4แล้วกษัตริย์ตรัสกับศิบาว่า "ดูเถิด ทรัพย์สมบัติของเมฟีโบเชทก็ตกเป็นของเจ้าทั้งหมด" และศิบากราบทูลว่า "ข้าแต่กษัตริย์เจ้านายของข้าพระองค์ ข้าพระองค์ขอทูลวิงวอนต่อพระองค์ด้วยความถ่อมใจ ขอทรงให้ข้าพระองค์ได้รับพระกรุณาในสายพระเนตรของพระองค์"
4Then the king said to Ziba, “Behold, all that pertains to Mephibosheth is yours.” Ziba said, “I do obeisance. Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, O king.”
5เมื่อกษัตริย์ดาวิดเสด็จมายังตำบลบาฮูริม ดูเถิด มีชายคนหนึ่งอยู่ในครอบครัววงศ์วานซาอูลชื่อชิเมอีบุตรชายเก-รา เขาออกมาเดินพลางด่าพลาง
5When king David came to Bahurim, behold, a man of the family of the house of Saul came out, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera. He came out, and cursed still as he came.
6และเอาหินขว้างดาวิดและขว้างบรรดาข้าราชการของกษัตริย์ดาวิด พวกพลและชายฉกรรจ์ทั้งสิ้นก็อยู่ข้างขวาและข้างซ้ายของพระองค์
6He cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David, and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.
7ชิเมอีร้องด่ามาว่า "จงไปเสียให้พ้น เจ้าคนกระหายโลหิต เจ้าคนอันธพาล จงไปเสียให้พ้น
7Shimei said when he cursed, “Be gone, be gone, you man of blood, and base fellow!
8พระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงสนองเจ้าในเรื่องโลหิตทั้งสิ้นแห่งวงศ์วานของซาอูลผู้ซึ่งเจ้าเข้าครองแทนอยู่นั้น และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงมอบราชอาณาจักรไว้ในมืออับซาโลมบุตรของเจ้า ดูเถิด ความพินาศตกอยู่บนเจ้าแล้ว เพราะเจ้าเป็นคนกระหายโลหิต"
8Yahweh has returned on you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned! Yahweh has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son! Behold, you are caught by your own mischief, because you are a man of blood!”
9อาบีชัยบุตรชายนางเศรุยาห์จึงกราบทูลกษัตริย์ว่า "ทำไมปล่อยให้สุนัขตายตัวนี้มาด่ากษัตริย์เจ้านายของข้าพระองค์ ขออนุญาตให้ข้าพระองค์ข้ามไปตัดหัวมันออกเสีย"
9Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king, “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Please let me go over and take off his head.”
10แต่กษัตริย์ตรัสว่า "บุตรชายทั้งสองของนางเศรุยาห์เอ๋ย เรามีธุระอะไรกับเจ้า ถ้าเขาด่าเพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสสั่งเขาว่า `จงด่าดาวิด' แล้วใครจะพูดว่า `ทำไมเจ้าจึงกระทำเช่นนี้'"
10The king said, “What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses, and because Yahweh has said to him, ‘Curse David;’ who then shall say, ‘Why have you done so?’”
11ดาวิดตรัสกับอาบีชัยและข้าราชการทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์ว่า "ดูเถิด ลูกของเราเองที่จะออกมาจากบั้นเอวของเรายังแสวงหาชีวิตของเรา ยิ่งกว่านั้น ทำไมกับคนเบนยามินคนนี้จะไม่กระทำเล่า ช่างเขาเถิด ให้เขาด่าไป เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงบอกเขาแล้ว
11David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, “Behold, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for Yahweh has invited him.
12บางทีพระเยโฮวาห์จะทอดพระเนตรความทุกข์ใจของเรา และพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงสนองเราด้วยความดีเพราะเขาด่าเราในวันนี้"
12It may be that Yahweh will look on the wrong done to me, and that Yahweh will repay me good for the cursing of me today.”
13ดาวิดจึงทรงดำเนินไปตามทางพร้อมกับพลของพระองค์ ฝ่ายชิเมอีก็เดินไปตามเนินเขาตรงข้าม เขาเดินพลางด่าพลาง เอาก้อนหินปาและเอาฝุ่นซัดใส่
13So David and his men went by the way; and Shimei went along on the hillside opposite him, and cursed as he went, threw stones at him, and threw dust.
14กษัตริย์กับพลทั้งปวงที่อยู่กับพระองค์ก็มารู้สึกเหนื่อยอ่อน จึงทรงพักผ่อนเอาแรง ณ ที่นั่น
14The king, and all the people who were with him, came weary; and he refreshed himself there.
15ฝ่ายอับซาโลมกับประชาชนทั้งสิ้น คือคนอิสราเอลก็มาถึงกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และอาหิโธเฟลก็มาด้วย
15Absalom, and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.
16และอยู่มาเมื่อหุชัยชาวอารคี สหายของดาวิดเข้าเฝ้าอับซาโลม หุชัยกราบทูลอับซาโลมว่า "ขอกษัตริย์ทรงพระเจริญ ขอกษัตริย์ทรงพระเจริญ"
16It happened, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, had come to Absalom, that Hushai said to Absalom, “Long live the king! Long live the king!”
17และอับซาโลมตรัสกับหุชัยว่า "นี่หรือความเมตตาต่อสหายของท่าน ทำไมท่านไม่ไปกับสหายของท่านเล่า"
17Absalom said to Hushai, “Is this your kindness to your friend? Why didn’t you go with your friend?”
18หุชัยกราบทูลอับซาโลมว่า "มิใช่พ่ะย่ะค่ะ พระเยโฮวาห์กับประชาชนเหล่านี้กับคนอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้นเลือกตั้งผู้ใดไว้ ข้าพระองค์ขอเป็นฝ่ายผู้นั้น ข้าพระองค์จะขออยู่กับผู้นั้น
18Hushai said to Absalom, “No; but whomever Yahweh, and this people, and all the men of Israel have chosen, his will I be, and with him I will stay.
19อีกประการหนึ่งข้าพระองค์ควรจะปรนนิบัติผู้ใด มิใช่โอรสของท่านผู้นั้นดอกหรือ ข้าพระองค์ได้ปรนนิบัติต่อพระพักตร์เสด็จพ่อของพระองค์มาแล้วฉันใด ก็ขอปรนนิบัติต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ฉันนั้น"
19Again, whom should I serve? Shouldn’t I serve in the presence of his son? As I have served in your father’s presence, so will I be in your presence.”
20อับซาโลมตรัสถามอาหิโธเฟลว่า "เราจะทำอย่างไรดี จงให้คำปรึกษาของท่าน"
20Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Give your counsel what we shall do.”
21อาหิโธเฟลกราบทูลอับซาโลมว่า "จงเข้าหานางสนมของเสด็จพ่อของพระองค์ซึ่งเสด็จพ่อทิ้งไว้ให้เฝ้าพระราชวัง เมื่อคนอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้นได้ยินว่าพระองค์เป็นที่เกลียดชังของเสด็จพ่อแล้ว บรรดามือเหล่านั้นที่อยู่ฝ่ายพระองค์ก็จะเข้มแข็งขึ้น"
21Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Go in to your father’s concubines, that he has left to keep the house. Then all Israel will hear that you are abhorred by your father. Then the hands of all who are with you will be strong.”
22เขาจึงกางเต็นท์ให้อับซาโลมไว้ที่บนดาดฟ้าหลังคา และอับซาโลมก็ทรงเข้าหานางสนมของพระราชบิดาของพระองค์ท่ามกลางสายตาของอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้น
22So they spread Absalom a tent on the top of the house; and Absalom went in to his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.
23ในครั้งนั้นคำปรึกษาของอาหิโธเฟลที่ทูลถวายก็เหมือนกับว่าคนได้ทูลถามจากพระดำรัสของพระเจ้า คำปรึกษาทั้งสิ้นที่อาหิโธเฟลทูลถวายต่อดาวิดและอับซาโลมเป็นดังนั้น
23The counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man inquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.
