¹โมเสสได้เรียกคนอิสราเอลทั้งหมดเข้ามาแล้วกล่าวแก่เขาทั้งหลายว่า "โอ คนอิสราเอลทั้งหลาย จงฟังกฎเกณฑ์และคำตัดสิน ซึ่งข้าพเจ้ากล่าวให้เข้าหูของท่านทั้งหลายในวันนี้ เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะได้เรียนรู้ รักษาไว้และกระทำตาม

¹Moses called to all Israel, and said to them, Hear, Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears this day, that you may learn them, and observe to do them.

²พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเราทรงกระทำพันธสัญญากับเราทั้งหลายที่โฮเรบ

²Yahweh our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.

³มิใช่พระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงกระทำพันธสัญญานี้กับบรรพบุรุษของเราทั้งหลาย แต่ทรงกระทำกับเรา คือเราทั้งหลายผู้มีชีวิตอยู่ที่นี่ในวันนี้

³Yahweh didn’t make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.

⁴พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับท่านทั้งหลายที่ภูเขานั้นจากท่ามกลางเพลิงหน้าต่อหน้า

⁴Yahweh spoke with you face to face on the mountain out of the midst of the fire,

⁵(ครั้งนั้นข้าพเจ้ายืนอยู่ระหว่างพระเยโฮวาห์กับท่านทั้งหลาย เพื่อจะประกาศพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์แก่ท่านทั้งหลาย เพราะท่านทั้งหลายกลัวเพลิง จึงมิได้ขึ้นไปบนภูเขา) พระองค์ตรัสว่า

⁵(I stood between Yahweh and you at that time, to show you the word of Yahweh: for you were afraid because of the fire, and didn’t go up onto the mountain;) saying,

⁶`เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า ผู้ได้นำเจ้าออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ออกจากเรือนทาส

⁶“I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

⁷อย่ามีพระอื่นใดนอกเหนือจากเรา

⁷“You shall have no other gods before me.

⁸อย่าทำรูปเคารพสลักสำหรับตนเป็นรูปสิ่งหนึ่งสิ่งใด ซึ่งมีอยู่ในฟ้าเบื้องบน หรือซึ่งมีอยู่ที่แผ่นดินเบื้องล่าง หรือซึ่งมีอยู่ในน้ำใต้แผ่นดิน

⁸“You shall not make an engraved image for yourself, any likeness of what is in heaven above, or what is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

⁹อย่ากราบไหว้หรือปรนนิบัติรูปเหล่านั้น เพราะเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า เป็นพระเจ้าที่หวงแหน ให้โทษเพราะความชั่วช้าของบิดาตกทอดไปถึงลูกหลานของผู้ที่ชังเราจนถึงสามชั่วสี่ชั่วอายุคน

⁹you shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them; for I, Yahweh, your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me;

¹⁰แต่แสดงความเมตตาต่อคนที่รักเรา และปฏิบัติตามบัญญัติของเรา จนถึงพันชั่วอายุคน

¹⁰and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

¹¹อย่าออกพระนามพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้าอย่างไร้ประโยชน์ เพราะผู้ที่ออกพระนามพระองค์อย่างไร้ประโยชน์นั้น พระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงถือว่าไม่มีโทษก็หามิได้

¹¹“You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain: for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

¹²จงถือวันสะบาโต ถือเป็นวันบริสุทธิ์ ดังที่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้าทรงบัญชาไว้แก่เจ้า

¹²“Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as Yahweh your God commanded you.

¹³จงทำการงานทั้งสิ้นของเจ้าหกวัน

¹³You shall labor six days, and do all your work;

¹⁴แต่วันที่เจ็ดนั้นเป็นสะบาโตของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า ในวันนั้นอย่ากระทำการงานใดๆ ไม่ว่าเจ้าเอง หรือบุตรชาย บุตรสาวของเจ้า หรือทาสทาสีของเจ้า หรือวัวของเจ้า หรือลาของเจ้า หรือสัตว์ใช้งานของเจ้า หรือแขกที่อาศัยอยู่ในประตูเมืองของเจ้า เพื่อทาสทาสีของเจ้าจะได้หยุดพักอย่างเจ้า

¹⁴but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God, in which you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.

¹⁵จงระลึกว่าเจ้าเคยเป็นทาสอยู่ในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ และพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้าได้พาเจ้าออกมาจากที่นั่นด้วยพระหัตถ์อันทรงฤทธิ์ และด้วยพระกรที่เหยียดออก เหตุฉะนี้พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้าได้ทรงบัญชาให้เจ้ารักษาวันสะบาโต

¹⁵You shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and Yahweh your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm: therefore Yahweh your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.

¹⁶จงให้เกียรติแก่บิดามารดาของเจ้า ดังที่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้าทรงบัญชาเจ้าไว้ เพื่อเจ้าจะมีชีวิตยืนนาน และเจ้าจะไปดีมาดีในแผ่นดินซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้าประทานให้แก่เจ้า

¹⁶“Honor your father and your mother, as Yahweh your God commanded you; that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you, in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.

¹⁷อย่ากระทำการฆาตกรรม

¹⁷“You shall not murder.

¹⁸อย่าล่วงประเวณีผัวเมียเขา

¹⁸“Neither shall you commit adultery.

¹⁹อย่าลักทรัพย์

¹⁹“Neither shall you steal.

²⁰อย่าเป็นพยานเท็จใส่ร้ายเพื่อนบ้าน

²⁰“Neither shall you give false testimony against your neighbor.

²¹อย่าอยากได้ภรรยาของเพื่อนบ้าน และอย่าโลภครัวเรือนของเพื่อนบ้าน คือไร่นาของเขา หรือทาสทาสีของเขา หรือวัว ลาของเขา หรือสิ่งใดๆซึ่งเป็นของของเพื่อนบ้าน'

²¹“Neither shall you covet your neighbor’s wife; neither shall you desire your neighbor’s house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”

²²พระวจนะเหล่านี้พระเยโฮวาห์ได้ตรัสแก่ชุมนุมชนทั้งปวงของท่านที่ภูเขาออกมาจากท่ามกลางเพลิง เมฆและความมืดคลุ้มหนาทึบ ด้วยพระสุรเสียงอันดัง และมิได้ทรงเพิ่มเติมสิ่งใดอีก และพระองค์ทรงจารึกไว้บนแผ่นศิลาสองแผ่นและประทานแก่ข้าพเจ้า

²²These words Yahweh spoke to all your assembly on the mountain out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. He wrote them on two tables of stone, and gave them to me.

²³ต่อมาเมื่อท่านทั้งหลายได้ยินพระสุรเสียงออกมาจากท่ามกลางความมืดนั้น (ขณะเมื่อภูเขานั้นมีเพลิงลุกอยู่) ท่านทั้งหลายเข้ามาใกล้ข้าพเจ้า คือหัวหน้าตระกูลของท่านทั้งหมด และพวกผู้ใหญ่ของท่าน

²³It happened, when you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, that you came near to me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;

²⁴และท่านทั้งหลายกล่าวว่า `ดูเถิด พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเราได้ทรงสำแดงสง่าราศีและความใหญ่ยิ่งของพระองค์ และเราได้ยินพระสุรเสียงของพระองค์จากท่ามกลางเพลิง ในวันนี้เราได้เห็นพระเจ้าตรัสกับมนุษย์ และมนุษย์ยังคงชีวิตอยู่ได้

²⁴and you said, “Behold, Yahweh our God has shown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God does speak with man, and he lives.

²⁵เหตุฉะนี้เราทั้งหลายจะต้องตายเสียทำไม เพราะเพลิงใหญ่ยิ่งนี้จะเผาผลาญเรา ถ้าเราได้ยินพระสุรเสียงของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเราอีก เราก็จะต้องตาย

²⁵Now therefore why should we die? For this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of Yahweh our God any more, then we shall die.

²⁶เพราะในบรรดามนุษย์ทั้งหลายใครเล่า ผู้ได้ยินพระสุรเสียงของพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์ ตรัสออกมาจากท่ามกลางเพลิงอย่างที่เราได้ยินและยังมีชีวิตอยู่ได้

²⁶For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?

²⁷ท่านจงเข้าไปใกล้ และฟังทุกสิ่งซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเราตรัส และนำพระวจนะทั้งสิ้นที่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเราตรัสแก่ท่านนั้นมากล่าวแก่เราทั้งหลาย และเราทั้งหลายจะฟังและกระทำตาม'

²⁷Go near, and hear all that Yahweh our God shall say: and tell us all that Yahweh our God shall tell you; and we will hear it, and do it.”

²⁸เมื่อท่านทั้งหลายพูดกับข้าพเจ้านั้น พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสดับเสียงแห่งถ้อยคำของท่านทั้งหลาย และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าว่า `เราได้ยินเสียงแห่งถ้อยคำของชนชาติซึ่งเขาพูดกับเจ้าแล้ว สารพัดซึ่งเขาพูดกับเจ้าเช่นนั้นก็ดีอยู่

²⁸Yahweh heard the voice of your words, when you spoke to me; and Yahweh said to me, “I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken to you: they have well said all that they have spoken.

²⁹โอ อยากให้มีจิตใจเช่นนี้อยู่เสมอไปหนอ คือที่จะยำเกรงเราและรักษาบัญญัติทั้งสิ้นของเรา เขาทั้งหลายก็จะสุขเจริญอยู่ตลอดชั่วลูกหลานของเขาเป็นนิตย์

²⁹Oh that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever!

³⁰จงกลับไปบอกแก่เขาว่า "เจ้าจงกลับไปเต็นท์ของเจ้าทุกคนเถิด"

³⁰“Go tell them, Return to your tents.

³¹แต่ตัวเจ้าจงยืนอยู่ที่นี่ใกล้เรา และเราจะบอกข้อบัญญัติและกฎเกณฑ์และคำตัดสินทั้งสิ้นแก่เจ้า ซึ่งเจ้าจะต้องสอนเขาทั้งหลายเพื่อเขาทั้งหลายจะกระทำตามในแผ่นดินซึ่งเราให้เขายึดครองนั้น'

³¹But as for you, stand here by me, and I will tell you all the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.”

³²เหตุฉะนั้นท่านทั้งหลายจงระวังที่จะกระทำดังที่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทั้งหลายได้ทรงบัญชาไว้นั้น ท่านทั้งหลายอย่าหันไปทางขวามือหรือทางซ้ายเลย

³²You shall observe to do therefore as Yahweh your God has commanded you: you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

³³ท่านจงดำเนินตามวิถีทางทั้งสิ้นซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านได้ทรงบัญชาท่านไว้ เพื่อท่านจะมีชีวิตอยู่และเพื่อท่านจะไปดีมาดี และมีชีวิตยืนนานอยู่ในแผ่นดินซึ่งท่านจะยึดครองนั้น"

³³You shall walk in all the way which Yahweh your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.
