1พระเยโฮวาห์จึงตรัสกับโมเสสว่า "จงเข้าไปหาฟาโรห์ เพราะเราได้ทำให้ใจของฟาโรห์ และใจของข้าราชการแข็งกระด้าง เพื่อเราจะได้แสดงหมายสำคัญเหล่านี้ของเราต่อหน้าพวกเขา
1Yahweh said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I may show these my signs in their midst,
2เพื่อเจ้าจะได้เล่าเหตุการณ์ที่เราได้กระทำแก่ชาวอียิปต์ให้ลูกหลานฟัง รวมทั้งหมายสำคัญซึ่งเราได้กระทำท่ามกลางพวกเขา เพื่อพวกเจ้าจะได้รู้ว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์"
2and that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your son’s son, what things I have done to Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that you may know that I am Yahweh.”
3โมเสสและอาโรนจึงเข้าไปเฝ้าฟาโรห์ทูลฟาโรห์ว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของคนฮีบรูตรัสดังนี้ว่า `เจ้าจะขัดขืนไม่ยอมอ่อนน้อมต่อเรานานสักเท่าใด จงปล่อยพลไพร่ของเราเพื่อเขาจะไปปรนนิบัติเรา
3Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and said to him, “This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.
4มิฉะนั้นถ้าเจ้าไม่ยอมปล่อยพลไพร่ของเราไป ดูเถิด พรุ่งนี้เราจะให้ตั๊กแตนเข้ามาในเขตแดนของเจ้า
4Or else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country,
5ฝูงตั๊กแตนนั้นจะปกคลุมพื้นแผ่นดินจนแลไม่เห็นพื้นดิน และสิ่งที่เหลือจากลูกเห็บทำลาย มันจะกิน และต้นไม้ทุกต้นซึ่งงอกขึ้นให้เจ้าในทุ่งนานั้น มันจะกินเสียหมด
5and they shall cover the surface of the earth, so that one won’t be able to see the earth. They shall eat the residue of that which has escaped, which remains to you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which grows for you out of the field.
6มันจะเข้าไปในราชสำนัก ในบ้านเรือนของข้าราชการ และในบ้านเรือนของบรรดาชาวอียิปต์จนเต็มหมด อย่างที่บิดาและปู่ทวด ตั้งแต่เกิดมาจนทุกวันนี้ ไม่เคยเห็นเช่นนี้เลย'" แล้วโมเสสก็กลับออกไปจากฟาโรห์
6Your houses shall be filled, and the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; as neither your fathers nor your fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.’” He turned, and went out from Pharaoh.
7บรรดาข้าราชการของฟาโรห์ทูลฟาโรห์ว่า "คนนี้จะเป็นบ่วงแร้วดักเราไปนานสักเท่าใด ขอทรงพระกรุณาปลดปล่อยคนเหล่านั้นให้ไปปรนนิบัติพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเขาเถิด พระองค์ยังไม่ทรงทราบหรือว่าอียิปต์กำลังพินาศแล้ว"
7Pharaoh’s servants said to him, “How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve Yahweh, their God. Don’t you yet know that Egypt is destroyed?”
8โมเสสและอาโรนถูกนำตัวเข้ามาเฝ้าฟาโรห์อีก พระองค์จึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ไปปรนนิบัติพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า แต่ใครจะไปบ้าง"
8Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, “Go, serve Yahweh your God; but who are those who will go?”
9โมเสสทูลว่า "ข้าพระองค์จะต้องพากันไปทั้งคนหนุ่มและคนแก่ บุตรชายและบุตรสาวและฝูงแพะแกะ และฝูงวัว เพราะข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายต้องมีเทศกาลเลี้ยงถวายพระเยโฮวาห์"
9Moses said, “We will go with our young and with our old; with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast to Yahweh.”
10ฟาโรห์ตรัสกับเขาทั้งสองว่า "ถ้าเรายอมให้เจ้าไปกับบุตรด้วย ก็ให้พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสถิตอยู่กับพวกเจ้าเถิด ระวังตัวให้ดีเถิด เจ้ากำลังมุ่งไปในทางทุจริตเสียแล้ว
10He said to them, “Yahweh be with you if I will let you go with your little ones! See, evil is clearly before your faces.
11อนุญาตไม่ได้ จงพาเฉพาะแต่ผู้ชายไปปรนนิบัติพระเยโฮวาห์ เพราะเจ้าปรารถนาเช่นนี้เท่านั้น" แล้วโมเสสกับอาโรนก็ถูกขับไล่ออกไปเสียจากพระพักตร์ของฟาโรห์
11Not so! Go now you who are men, and serve Yahweh; for that is what you desire!” They were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
12พระเยโฮวาห์จึงตรัสกับโมเสสว่า "จงเหยียดมือออกเหนือประเทศอียิปต์ให้ฝูงตั๊กแตนมาเหนือแผ่นดินอียิปต์ ให้กินผักทั่วไปของแผ่นดินซึ่งเหลือจากลูกเห็บทำลาย"
12Yahweh said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up on the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail has left.”
13โมเสสจึงยื่นไม้เท้าออกเหนือแผ่นดินอียิปต์ พระเยโฮวาห์ก็ทรงบันดาลให้ลมตะวันออกพัดมาเหนือพื้นแผ่นดินทั้งกลางวันและกลางคืนตลอดวันนั้น ครั้นเวลารุ่งเช้า ลมตะวันออกก็พัดหอบฝูงตั๊กแตนมา
13Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and Yahweh brought an east wind on the land all that day, and all the night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14ฝูงตั๊กแตนลงทั่วแผ่นดินอียิปต์ และจับอยู่ทั่วเขตแดนอียิปต์ทั้งหมด มันรุนแรงมาก แต่ก่อนไม่เคยมีตั๊กแตนอย่างนี้เลย และต่อไปข้างหน้าจะหามีอย่างนั้นอีกไม่
14The locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the borders of Egypt. They were very grievous. Before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
15เพราะมันปกคลุมพื้นแผ่นดินจนแลมืดไป มันกินผักในแผ่นดินทุกอย่าง และผลไม้ทุกอย่างซึ่งเหลือจากลูกเห็บทำลาย ไม่มีพืชใบเขียวเหลือเลย ไม่ว่าต้นไม้หรือผักในทุ่ง ทั่วแผ่นดินอียิปต์
15For they covered the surface of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened, and they ate every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. There remained nothing green, either tree or herb of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
16ฟาโรห์จึงรีบให้คนไปตามโมเสสและอาโรนเข้าเฝ้า แล้วฟาโรห์ตรัสว่า "เราได้ทำบาปต่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า และต่อเจ้าทั้งสองด้วย
16Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste, and he said, “I have sinned against Yahweh your God, and against you.
17เหตุฉะนั้นบัดนี้ขอเจ้ายกโทษบาปให้เราครั้งนี้สักครั้งเถิด และวิงวอนขอพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า เพื่อพระองค์จะได้ทรงโปรดให้ความตายนี้พ้นไปจากเรา"
17Now therefore please forgive my sin again, and pray to Yahweh your God, that he may also take away from me this death.”
18โมเสสก็ไปจากฟาโรห์ และทูลวิงวอนพระเยโฮวาห์
18He went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Yahweh.
19พระเยโฮวาห์จึงทรงบันดาลให้ลมพายุพัดกลับมาจากทิศตะวันตกหอบฝูงตั๊กแตนไปตกในทะเลแดง จนไม่มีตั๊กแตนเหลือเลยสักตัวเดียวตลอดเขตแดนอียิปต์
19Yahweh turned an exceeding strong west wind, which took up the locusts, and drove them into the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds . There remained not one locust in all the borders of Egypt.
20แต่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงทำให้พระทัยของฟาโรห์แข็งกระด้างเพื่อพระองค์จะไม่ยอมปล่อยชนชาติอิสราเอลไป
20But Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go.
21พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า "จงชูมือของเจ้าขึ้นสู่ท้องฟ้า เพื่อจะให้มีความมืดทั่วแผ่นดินอียิปต์ เป็นความมืดจนจับคลำได้"
21Yahweh said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.”
22โมเสสจึงชูมือขึ้นสู่ท้องฟ้า แล้วก็เกิดมีความมืดทึบทั่วไปในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ตลอดสามวัน
22Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.
23เขามองกันไม่เห็น ไม่มีใครลุกไปจากที่ของเขาสามวัน แต่บรรดาชนชาติอิสราเอลนั้นมีแสงสว่างอยู่ในที่อาศัยของเขา
23They didn’t see one another, neither did anyone rise from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
24ฟาโรห์จึงให้ตามตัวโมเสสเข้าเฝ้า ตรัสว่า "พวกเจ้าจงไปปรนนิบัติพระเยโฮวาห์เถิด เพียงแต่ให้ฝูงแกะและฝูงวัวอยู่ ส่วนเด็กไปกับเจ้าได้ด้วย"
24Pharaoh called to Moses, and said, “Go, serve Yahweh. Only let your flocks and your herds stay behind. Let your little ones also go with you.”
25ฝ่ายโมเสสจึงทูลว่า "พระองค์ต้องให้เรามีเครื่องบูชาและเครื่องเผาบูชาไปด้วย เพื่อพวกข้าพระองค์จะได้บูชาต่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์
25Moses said, “You must also give into our hand sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to Yahweh our God.
26ข้าพระองค์ต้องนำฝูงสัตว์ไปด้วย ขาดไม่ได้สักกีบเดียว เพราะว่าจะต้องเอาสัตว์จากฝูงเหล่านั้นไปถวายพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ และข้าพระองค์ยังไม่ทราบว่าจะต้องการสัตว์ตัวใดถวายพระเยโฮวาห์ จนกว่าเราจะถึงที่นั่น"
26Our livestock also shall go with us. Not a hoof shall be left behind, for of it we must take to serve Yahweh our God; and we don’t know with what we must serve Yahweh, until we come there.”
27แต่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงทำให้พระทัยฟาโรห์แข็งกระด้าง พระองค์จึงไม่ยอมปล่อยเขาไป
27But Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he wouldn’t let them go.
28ฟาโรห์รับสั่งแก่โมเสสว่า "ไปให้พ้นจากเรา ระวังตัวให้ดีเถอะ อย่ามาเห็นหน้าเราอีกเลยเพราะถ้าเจ้าเห็นหน้าเราวันใด เจ้าจะต้องตายวันนั้น"
28Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me! Be careful to see my face no more; for in the day you see my face you shall die!”
29โมเสสจึงทูลว่า "พระองค์ตรัสถูกแล้ว ข้าพระองค์จะไม่มาเห็นพระพักตร์ของพระองค์อีกเลย"
29Moses said, “You have spoken well. I will see your face again no more.”
