¹เพื่อเสรีภาพนั้นเองพระคริสต์จึงได้ทรงโปรดให้เราเป็นไทย เหตุฉะนั้นจงตั้งมั่นและอย่าเข้าเทียมแอกเป็นทาสอีกเลย

¹Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

²ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าเปาโลขอบอกท่านว่า ถ้าท่านรับพิธีเข้าสุหนัตพระคริสต์จะทรงทำประโยชน์อะไรให้แก่ท่านไม่ได้เลย

²Behold, I, Paul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.

³ข้าพเจ้าเป็นพยานให้ทุกคนที่รับพิธีเข้าสุหนัตทราบอีกว่า เขาถูกผูกมัดให้ประพฤติตามพระราชบัญญัติทั้งสิ้น

³Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

⁴ท่านที่ปรารถนาจะเป็นคนชอบธรรมโดยพระราชบัญญัติ ก็ขาดจากพระคริสต์และหลุดพ้นจากพระคุณไปเสียแล้ว

⁴You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.

⁵เพราะว่า โดยพระวิญญาณและความเชื่อ เราก็รอคอยความชอบธรรมที่เราหวังว่าจะได้รับ

⁵For we, through the Spirit, by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.

⁶เพราะว่าในพระเยซูคริสต์นั้น การที่รับพิธีเข้าสุหนัตหรือไม่รับพิธีเข้าสุหนัต ก็หาเกิดประโยชน์อันใดไม่ แต่ความเชื่อต่างหากซึ่งกระทำกิจด้วยความรัก

⁶For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.

⁷ท่านวิ่งแข่งดีอยู่แล้ว ใครเล่าขัดขวางท่านไม่ให้เชื่อฟังความจริง

⁷You were running well! Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth?

⁸การเกลี้ยกล่อมอย่างนี้ไม่ได้มาจากพระองค์ผู้ทรงเรียกท่านทั้งหลาย

⁸This persuasion is not from him who calls you.

⁹เชื้อขนมเพียงนิดหน่อยย่อมทำให้แป้งดิบฟูขึ้นได้ทั้งก้อน

⁹A little yeast grows through the whole lump.

¹⁰ข้าพเจ้าไว้ใจท่านในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าว่า ท่านจะไม่เชื่อถืออย่างอื่นเลย ฝ่ายผู้ที่มารบกวนท่านนั้น จะเป็นใครก็ตามจะต้องได้รับโทษ

¹⁰I have confidence toward you in the Lord that you will think no other way. But he who troubles you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.

¹¹พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ถ้าข้าพเจ้ายังเทศนาชักชวนให้รับพิธีเข้าสุหนัต เหตุใดข้าพเจ้าจึงยังถูกข่มเหงอยู่อีกเล่า ถ้าเช่นนั้นกางเขนก็ไม่ใช่สิ่งที่ให้สะดุดแล้ว

¹¹But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been removed.

¹²ข้าพเจ้าอยากให้คนเหล่านั้นที่รบกวนท่านถูกตัดออกเสียเลย

¹²I wish that those who disturb you would cut themselves off.

¹³พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ที่ทรงเรียกท่านก็เพื่อให้มีเสรีภาพ อย่าเอาเสรีภาพของท่านเป็นช่องทางที่จะปล่อยตัวไปตามเนื้อหนัง แต่จงรับใช้ซึ่งกันและกันด้วยความรักเถิด

¹³For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.

¹⁴เพราะว่า พระราชบัญญัติทั้งสิ้นนั้นสรุปได้เป็นคำเดียว คือว่า `จงรักเพื่อนบ้านเหมือนรักตนเอง'

¹⁴For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Leviticus 19:18

¹⁵แต่ถ้าท่านกัดและกินเนื้อกันและกัน จงระวังให้ดีเกรงว่าท่านจะทำให้กันและกันย่อยยับไป

¹⁵But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you don’t consume one another.

¹⁶แต่ข้าพเจ้าขอบอกว่า จงดำเนินชีวิตตามพระวิญญาณและท่านจะไม่สนองความต้องการของเนื้อหนัง

¹⁶But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.

¹⁷เพราะว่าความต้องการของเนื้อหนังต่อสู้พระวิญญาณ และพระวิญญาณก็ต่อสู้เนื้อหนัง เพราะทั้งสองฝ่ายเป็นศัตรูกัน ดังนั้นสิ่งที่ท่านทั้งหลายปรารถนาทำจึงกระทำไม่ได้

¹⁷For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.

¹⁸แต่ถ้าพระวิญญาณทรงนำท่าน ท่านก็ไม่อยู่ใต้พระราชบัญญัติ

¹⁸But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

¹⁹แล้วการงานของเนื้อหนังนั้นเห็นได้ชัด คือการเล่นชู้ การล่วงประเวณี การโสโครก การลามก

¹⁹Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,

²⁰การนับถือรูปเคารพ การนับถือพ่อมดหมอผี การเป็นศัตรูกัน การวิวาทกัน การริษยากัน การโกรธกัน การทุ่มเถียงกัน การใฝ่สูง การแตกก๊กกัน

²⁰idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies,

²¹การอิจฉากัน การฆ่ากัน การเมาเหล้า การเล่นเป็นพาลเกเร และการอื่นๆในทำนองนี้อีก เหมือนที่ข้าพเจ้าได้เตือนท่านมาก่อน บัดนี้ข้าพเจ้าขอเตือนท่านเหมือนกับที่เคยเตือนมาแล้วว่า คนที่ประพฤติเช่นนั้นจะไม่ได้รับอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าเป็นมรดก

²¹envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

²²ฝ่ายผลของพระวิญญาณนั้นคือ ความรัก ความปลาบปลื้มใจ สันติสุข ความอดกลั้นใจ ความปรานี ความดี ความเชื่อ

²²But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, or, faithfulness

²³ความสุภาพอ่อนน้อม การรู้จักบังคับตน เรื่องอย่างนี้ไม่มีพระราชบัญญัติห้ามไว้เลย

²³gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

²⁴ผู้ที่เป็นของพระคริสต์ได้เอาเนื้อหนังกับความอยากและราคะตัณหาของเนื้อหนังตรึงไว้ที่กางเขนเสียแล้ว

²⁴Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

²⁵ถ้าเรามีชีวิตอยู่โดยพระวิญญาณ ก็จงดำเนินชีวิตตามพระวิญญาณด้วย

²⁵If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.

²⁶เราอย่าถือตัว อย่ายั่วโทสะกัน และอย่าอิจฉาริษยากันเลย

²⁶Let’s not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.
