¹ทูตสวรรค์สององค์มาถึงเมืองโสโดมในเวลาเย็น โลทได้นั่งอยู่ที่ประตูเมืองโสโดม เมื่อโลทเห็นแล้วก็ลุกขึ้นไปพบทูตเหล่านั้นและได้ก้มหน้าของเขาลงถึงดิน

¹The two angels came to Sodom at evening. Lot sat in the gate of Sodom. Lot saw them, and rose up to meet them. He bowed himself with his face to the earth,

²แล้วเขากล่าวว่า "ดูเถิด เจ้านายของข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าขอวิงวอนท่านโปรดกรุณาแวะไปบ้านผู้รับใช้ของท่าน ค้างแรมคืนนี้ ล้างเท้าของท่าน แล้วท่านจะได้ตื่นแต่เช้าเดินทางต่อไป" ทูตเหล่านั้นกล่าวว่า "อย่าเลย แต่พวกเราจะค้างแรมที่ถนนในคืนนี้"

²and he said, “See now, my lords, please turn aside into your servant’s house, stay all night, wash your feet, and you can rise up early, and go on your way.” They said, “No, but we will stay in the street all night.”

³เขาได้รบเร้าทูตเหล่านั้นอย่างมาก ทูตเหล่านั้นจึงแวะเข้าไปในบ้านของเขา และเขาจึงจัดการเลี้ยงทูตเหล่านั้น ทำขนมปังไร้เชื้อและทูตเหล่านั้นจึงรับประทาน

³He urged them greatly, and they came in with him, and entered into his house. He made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

⁴แต่ก่อนที่ทูตเหล่านั้นเข้านอน พวกผู้ชายเมืองนั้นคือพวกผู้ชายชาวเมืองโสโดม ทั้งแก่และหนุ่ม ทุกคนจากทุกสารทิศ มาล้อมเรือนนั้นไว้

⁴But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter.

⁵พวกเขาเรียกโลทและพูดกับเขาว่า "ผู้ชายเหล่านั้นซึ่งมาหาท่านคืนนี้อยู่ที่ไหน จงนำเขาเหล่านั้นออกมาให้พวกเราเพื่อพวกเราจะได้สมสู่กับเขา"

⁵They called to Lot, and said to him, “Where are the men who came in to you this night? Bring them out to us, that we may have sex with them.”

⁶Lot went out to them to the door, and shut the door after him.

⁷และกล่าวว่า "พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ข้าพเจ้าขอวิงวอนท่าน อย่ากระทำชั่วช้าเช่นนี้เลย

⁷He said, “Please, my brothers, don’t act so wickedly.

⁸ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้ามีบุตรสาวสองคนซึ่งไม่เคยสมสู่กับชายเลย ข้าพเจ้าขอวิงวอนท่าน ขอให้ข้าพเจ้านำพวกเธอออกมาให้ท่าน ให้ท่านกระทำแก่พวกเธอตามที่เห็นชอบในสายตาของท่านเถิด เพียงแต่อย่ากระทำอะไรแก่ชายเหล่านี้เลย เพราะเหตุว่าพวกเขาเหล่านี้เข้ามาอยู่ใต้ร่มชายคาของข้าพเจ้า"

⁸See now, I have two virgin daughters. Please let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them what seems good to you. Only don’t do anything to these men, because they have come under the shadow of my roof.”

⁹พวกเขาพูดว่า "ถอยไป" และพวกเขาพูดอีกว่า "คนนี้เข้ามาอาศัยอยู่และเขาจะมาตั้งตัวเป็นผู้พิพากษา บัดนี้เราจะทำการชั่วร้ายกับท่านยิ่งกว่าคนเหล่านั้น" พวกเขาจึงผลักคนนั้นโดยแรงคือโลทนั่นเอง และเข้ามาใกล้เพื่อพังประตู

⁹They said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one fellow came in to live as a foreigner, and he appoints himself a judge. Now will we deal worse with you, than with them!” They pressed hard on the man Lot, and drew near to break the door.

¹⁰แต่ทูตเหล่านั้นจึงยื่นมือออกไปดึงโลทเข้ามาในบ้านและปิดประตู

¹⁰But the men reached out their hand, and brought Lot into the house to them, and shut the door.

¹¹ทูตเหล่านั้นทำให้พวกผู้ชายที่อยู่ประตูบ้านนั้นตาบอดผู้น้อยผู้ใหญ่ ดังนั้นพวกเขาจึงหาประตูจนเหนื่อย

¹¹They struck the men who were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

¹²ทูตเหล่านั้นจึงพูดกับโลทว่า "ที่นี่มีใครอีกไหม จงพาบุตรเขย บุตรชาย บุตรสาว และสิ่งใดๆของเจ้าที่อยู่ในเมืองนี้ออกจากที่นี่

¹²The men said to Lot, “Do you have anybody else here? Sons-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whoever you have in the city, bring them out of the place:

¹³เพราะพวกเราจะทำลายสถานที่แห่งนี้เพราะว่าเสียงร้องของพวกเขาดังมากยิ่งขึ้นต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงส่งพวกเรามาทำลายมันเสีย"

¹³for we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before Yahweh that Yahweh has sent us to destroy it.”

¹⁴โลทจึงออกไปพูดกับบุตรเขยของเขาซึ่งได้แต่งงานกับบุตรสาวของเขาว่า "ลุกขึ้น เจ้าจงออกไปจากสถานที่นี้ เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงทำลายเมืองนี้" แต่เขากลับดูเหมือนอย่างผู้ที่ล้อเล่นบุตรเขยของเขา

¹⁴Lot went out, and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters, and said, “Get up! Get out of this place, for Yahweh will destroy the city.” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be joking.

¹⁵เมื่อรุ่งเช้าทูตสวรรค์เหล่านั้นจึงเร่งเร้าโลทว่า "จงลุกขึ้น พาภรรยาของเจ้า และบุตรสาวทั้งสองของเจ้า ซึ่งอยู่ที่นี่ไปเสีย เกรงว่าพวกเจ้าจะถูกทำลายพร้อมกับความชั่วช้าของเมืองนี้"

¹⁵When the morning came, then the angels hurried Lot, saying, “Get up! Take your wife, and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the iniquity of the city.”

¹⁶ขณะที่เขายังรีรออยู่ ทูตเหล่านั้นจึงคว้าจับมือเขา มือภรรยาของเขาและมือบุตรสาวทั้งสองของเขา พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงมีความเมตตาต่อเขา ทูตเหล่านั้นจึงนำเขาออกมาและให้เขาอยู่ที่นอกเมือง

¹⁶But he lingered; and the men grabbed his hand, his wife’s hand, and his two daughters’ hands, Yahweh being merciful to him; and they took him out, and set him outside of the city.

¹⁷ต่อมาเมื่อทูตเหล่านั้นนำพวกเขาออกมาภายนอกแล้ว ทูตพูดว่า "จงหนีเอาชีวิตรอด อย่าได้เหลียวหลังมาดูหรือพักอยู่ที่ราบลุ่มทั้งหลาย จงหนีไปที่ภูเขาเกรงว่าเจ้าจะถูกทำลาย"

¹⁷It came to pass, when they had taken them out, that he said, “Escape for your life! Don’t look behind you, and don’t stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be consumed!”

¹⁸โลทจึงกล่าวแก่ทูตเหล่านั้นว่า "โอ เจ้านายของข้าพเจ้า อย่าให้เป็นอย่างนั้นเลย

¹⁸Lot said to them, “Oh, not so, my lord.

¹⁹ดูเถิด ผู้รับใช้ของท่านได้รับพระกรุณาในสายตาของท่านและท่านมีความเมตตาอย่างยิ่ง ซึ่งท่านได้สำแดงต่อข้าพเจ้าในการช่วยชีวิตข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าไม่สามารถหนีไปยังภูเขาได้ เกรงว่าสิ่งชั่วร้ายจะมาถึงตัวข้าพเจ้าและข้าพเจ้าจะตายเสีย

¹⁹See now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your loving kindness, which you have shown to me in saving my life. I can’t escape to the mountain, lest evil overtake me, and I die.

²⁰ดูเถิด กรุณาเถิด เมืองนี้อยู่ใกล้ที่จะหนีไปถึงได้และเป็นเมืองเล็ก โอ โปรดให้ข้าพเจ้าหนีไปที่นั่น (เป็นเมืองเล็กๆมิใช่หรือ) และชีวิตของข้าพเจ้าจะรอด"

²⁰See now, this city is near to flee to, and it is a little one. Oh let me escape there (isn’t it a little one?), and my soul will live.”

²¹ทูตกล่าวแก่เขาว่า "ดูเถิด เรายอมรับเจ้าเกี่ยวกับเรื่องนี้ด้วยว่าเราจะไม่ทำลายล้างเมืองนี้ซึ่งเจ้าได้กล่าวถึง

²¹He said to him, “Behold, I have granted your request concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken.

²²เจ้าจงรีบหนีไปที่นั่น เพราะเราไม่สามารถกระทำอะไรได้จนกว่าเจ้าไปถึงที่นั่น" เหตุฉะนั้นจึงเรียกชื่อเมืองนั้นว่าโศอาร์

²²Hurry, escape there, for I can’t do anything until you get there.” Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar. Zoar means “little.”

²³เมื่อโลทเข้าไปยังเมืองโศอาร์ ตะวันก็ขึ้นมาเหนือแผ่นดินโลกแล้ว

²³The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar.

²⁴ดังนั้นพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงให้กำมะถันและไฟจากพระเยโฮวาห์ตกมาจากฟ้าสวรรค์ลงมาบนเมืองโสโดมและเมืองโกโมราห์

²⁴Then Yahweh rained on Sodom and on Gomorrah sulfur and fire from Yahweh out of the sky.

²⁵พระองค์ทรงทำลายล้างเมืองทั้งหลายเหล่านั้น บรรดาที่ราบลุ่ม ชาวเมืองทั้งปวงและสิ่งที่งอกขึ้นมาบนแผ่นดิน

²⁵He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew on the ground.

²⁶แต่ภรรยาของเขาผู้ตามข้างหลังเขาเหลียวกลับไปมองดูและนางจึงกลายเป็นเสาเกลือ

²⁶But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

²⁷อับราฮัมลุกขึ้นตั้งแต่เช้าตรู่ไปยังสถานที่ที่ท่านเคยยืนต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์

²⁷Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he had stood before Yahweh.

²⁸ท่านมองไปทางเมืองโสโดม เมืองโกโมราห์และดินแดนที่ราบลุ่มทั้งหลาย และดูเถิด ก็เห็นควันจากแผ่นดินนั้นพลุ่งขึ้นเหมือนควันจากเตาไฟใหญ่

²⁸He looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and looked, and saw that the smoke of the land went up as the smoke of a furnace.

²⁹ต่อมาเมื่อพระเจ้าทรงทำลายเมืองทั้งหลายในที่ราบลุ่มแล้วนั้น พระเจ้าทรงระลึกถึงอับราฮัม และส่งโลทออกไปจากท่ามกลางการทำลายล้าง เมื่อพระองค์ทรงทำลายล้างเมืองทั้งหลายซึ่งโลทอาศัยอยู่

²⁹It happened, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the middle of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot lived.

³⁰โลทขึ้นไปจากเมืองโศอาร์ไปอาศัยอยู่บนภูเขาพร้อมกับบุตรสาวสองคนของเขา เพราะเขากลัวที่อาศัยในเมืองโศอาร์ เขาจึงไปอาศัยอยู่ในถ้ำทั้งเขากับบุตรสาวสองคนของเขา

³⁰Lot went up out of Zoar, and lived in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he was afraid to live in Zoar. He lived in a cave with his two daughters.

³¹บุตรสาวหัวปีพูดกับน้องสาวว่า "บิดาของเราแก่แล้วและไม่มีชายใดในแผ่นดินโลกเข้ามาหาพวกเราตามธรรมเนียมของทั่วโลก

³¹The firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in to us in the way of all the earth.

³²มาเถิด พวกเราจงให้บิดาของพวกเราดื่มเหล้าองุ่น และพวกเราจะนอนกับท่าน เพื่อพวกเราจะสงวนเชื้อสายของบิดาพวกเรา"

³²Come, let’s make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve our father’s seed.”

³³ในคืนวันนั้นพวกเธอจึงให้บิดาของพวกเธอดื่มเหล้าองุ่น บุตรสาวหัวปีเข้าไปนอนกับบิดาของเธอ และเขาไม่สังเกตว่าเธอมานอนด้วยเมื่อไรและเธอลุกขึ้นไปเมื่อไร

³³They made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father. He didn’t know when she lay down, nor when she arose.

³⁴ต่อมาวันรุ่งขึ้นบุตรสาวหัวปีพูดกับน้องสาวว่า "ดูเถิด เมื่อคืนนี้เราได้นอนกับบิดาของเรา พวกเราจงให้ท่านดื่มเหล้าองุ่นในคืนนี้อีก และเจ้าจงเข้าไปนอนกับท่านเพื่อพวกเราจะสงวนเชื้อสายของบิดาพวกเรา"

³⁴It came to pass on the next day, that the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father. Let us make him drink wine again, tonight. You go in, and lie with him, that we may preserve our father’s seed.”

³⁵พวกเธอจึงให้บิดาของพวกเธอดื่มเหล้าองุ่นในคืนวันนั้นด้วย น้องสาวก็ลุกขึ้นไปนอนกับเขา และเขาไม่สังเกตว่าเธอมานอนด้วยเมื่อไรและเธอลุกขึ้นไปเมื่อไร

³⁵They made their father drink wine that night also. The younger went and lay with him. He didn’t know when she lay down, nor when she got up.

³⁶ดังนั้น บุตรสาวทั้งสองของโลทก็ตั้งครรภ์กับบิดาของพวกเธอ

³⁶Thus both of Lot’s daughters were with child by their father.

³⁷บุตรสาวหัวปีคลอดบุตรชายคนหนึ่งและเรียกชื่อของเขาว่า โมอับ เขาเป็นบรรพบุรุษของคนโมอับมาจนถึงทุกวันนี้

³⁷The firstborn bore a son, and named him Moab. He is the father of the Moabites to this day.

³⁸ส่วนน้องสาว เธอคลอดบุตรชายคนหนึ่งด้วยและเรียกชื่อของเขาว่า เบน-อัมมี เขาเป็นบรรพบุรุษของคนอัมโมนมาจนถึงทุกวันนี้

³⁸The younger also bore a son, and called his name Ben Ammi. He is the father of the children of Ammon to this day.
