¹“Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place for gold which they refine.

²Iron is taken out of the earth, and copper is smelted out of the ore.

³มนุษย์กำจัดความมืด และค้นหาไปยังเขตไกลที่สุด ค้นแร่ดิบในที่มืดครึ้มและเงามัจจุราช

³Man sets an end to darkness, and searches out, to the furthest bound, the stones of obscurity and of thick darkness.

⁴เขาขุดปล่องไกลจากที่ฝูงคนอาศัยอยู่ คนสัญจรไปมาลืมเขาแล้ว เขาแขวนอยู่แกว่งไปแกว่งมาไกลจากฝูงคน

⁴He breaks open a shaft away from where people live. They are forgotten by the foot. They hang far from men, they swing back and forth.

⁵ฝ่ายแผ่นดินนั้นมีอาหารออกมา แต่ภายใต้ก็คว่ำอย่างถูกไฟไหม้

⁵As for the earth, out of it comes bread; Underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.

⁶ก้อนหินของที่นั่นเป็นที่อยู่ของพลอยไพทูรย์ และมันมีผงทองคำ

⁶Sapphires come from its rocks. It has dust of gold.

⁷ทางนั้นไม่มีเหยี่ยวรู้ และไม่มีตาเหยี่ยวดำมองเห็น

⁷That path no bird of prey knows, neither has the falcon’s eye seen it.

⁸ลูกสิงโตไม่เคยเดินที่นั่น สิงโตดุร้ายไม่ผ่านมาที่นั่น

⁸The proud animals have not trodden it, nor has the fierce lion passed by there.

⁹คนยื่นมือที่หินแข็ง และทำลายภูเขาลงถึงราก

⁹He puts forth his hand on the flinty rock, and he overturns the mountains by the roots.

¹⁰เขาขุดลำรางไว้ในหิน และตาของเขาเห็นของประเสริฐทุกอย่าง

¹⁰He cuts out channels among the rocks. His eye sees every precious thing.

¹¹เขากันตาน้ำไว้ เพื่อมิให้มีน้ำย้อย และสิ่งที่ปิดบังไว้ เขานำมาให้แจ้ง

¹¹He binds the streams that they don’t trickle. The thing that is hidden he brings forth to light.

¹²แต่จะพบพระปัญญาที่ไหน และที่ของความเข้าใจอยู่ที่ไหน

¹²“But where shall wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding?

¹³มนุษย์ไม่รู้จักค่าของพระปัญญา และในแผ่นดินของคนเป็นก็หาไม่พบ

¹³Man doesn’t know its price; Neither is it found in the land of the living.

¹⁴บาดาลพูดว่า `ที่ข้าไม่มี' และทะเลกล่าวว่า `ไม่อยู่กับข้า'

¹⁴The deep says, ‘It isn’t in me.’ The sea says, ‘It isn’t with me.’

¹⁵จะเอาทองคำซื้อก็ไม่ได้ และจะชั่งเงินให้ตามราคาก็ไม่ได้

¹⁵It can’t be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for its price.

¹⁶จะตีราคาเป็นทองคำโอฟีร์ก็ไม่ได้ หรือเป็นพลอยสีน้ำข้าวประเสริฐหรือพลอยไพทูรย์ก็ไม่ได้

¹⁶It can’t be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire or, lapis lazuli .

¹⁷จะเทียบเท่าทองคำและแก้วผลึกก็ไม่ได้ หรือจะแลกกับเครื่องทองคำเนื้อดีก็ไม่ได้

¹⁷Gold and glass can’t equal it, neither shall it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.

¹⁸อย่าเอ่ยถึงหินปะการังและไข่มุกเลย ค่าของพระปัญญาสูงกว่ามุกดา

¹⁸No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.

¹⁹บุษราคัมแห่งเมืองเอธิโอเปีย ก็เปรียบกับพระปัญญาไม่ได้ หรือจะตีราคาเป็นทองคำบริสุทธิ์ก็ไม่ได้

¹⁹The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, Neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

²⁰ดังนั้นพระปัญญามาจากไหนเล่า และที่ของความเข้าใจอยู่ที่ไหน

²⁰Where then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding?

²¹เป็นสิ่งที่ซ่อนพ้นจากตาของสิ่งที่มีชีวิตทั้งปวง และปิดบังไว้จากนกในอากาศ

²¹Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the birds of the sky.

²²แดนพินาศและมัจจุราชกล่าวว่า `เราได้ยินเสียงลือเรื่องพระปัญญากับหูของเรา'

²²Destruction and Death say, ‘We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’

²³พระเจ้าทรงทราบทางไปหาพระปัญญานั้น และพระองค์ทรงทราบที่อยู่ของพระปัญญาด้วย

²³“God understands its way, and he knows its place.

²⁴เพราะพระองค์ทอดพระเนตรไปถึงที่สุดปลายแผ่นดินโลก และทรงเห็นทุกสิ่งที่ใต้ฟ้าสวรรค์

²⁴For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole sky.

²⁵ในเมื่อพระองค์ทรงกำหนดน้ำหนักให้แก่ลม และทรงกะน้ำด้วยเครื่องตวง

²⁵He establishes the force of the wind. Yes, he measures out the waters by measure.

²⁶เมื่อพระองค์ทรงสร้างกฎให้ฝน และสร้างทางไว้ให้แสงแลบของฟ้าผ่า

²⁶When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder;

²⁷แล้วพระองค์ทอดพระเนตรพระปัญญาและทรงประกาศ ทรงสถาปนาไว้และทรงวิจัย

²⁷then he saw it, and declared it. He established it, yes, and searched it out.

²⁸และพระองค์ตรัสกับมนุษย์ว่า `ดูเถิด ความยำเกรงองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า นั่นแหละคือพระปัญญา และที่จะหันจากความชั่ว คือความเข้าใจ'"

²⁸To man he said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” , that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.’”
