¹"อย่าให้ใจท่านทั้งหลายวิตกเลย ท่านเชื่อในพระเจ้า จงเชื่อในเราด้วย

¹ “Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me.

²ในพระนิเวศของพระบิดาเรามีคฤหาสน์หลายแห่ง ถ้าไม่มีเราคงได้บอกท่านแล้ว เราไปจัดเตรียมที่ไว้สำหรับท่านทั้งหลาย

² In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.

³และถ้าเราไปจัดเตรียมที่ไว้สำหรับท่านแล้ว เราจะกลับมาอีกรับท่านไปอยู่กับเรา เพื่อว่าเราอยู่ที่ไหนท่านทั้งหลายจะอยู่ที่นั่นด้วย

³ If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.

⁴ท่านทราบว่าเราจะไปที่ไหนและท่านก็รู้จักทางนั้น"

⁴ Where I go, you know, and you know the way.”

⁵โธมัสทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า พวกข้าพระองค์ไม่ทราบว่าพระองค์จะเสด็จไปที่ไหน พวกข้าพระองค์จะรู้จักทางนั้นได้อย่างไร"

⁵Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”

⁶พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราเป็นทางนั้น เป็นความจริง และเป็นชีวิต ไม่มีผู้ใดมาถึงพระบิดาได้นอกจากมาทางเรา

⁶Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

⁷ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายรู้จักเราแล้ว ท่านก็จะรู้จักพระบิดาของเราด้วย และตั้งแต่นี้ไปท่านก็รู้จักพระองค์และได้เห็นพระองค์"

⁷ If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you know him, and have seen him.”

⁸ฟีลิปทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ขอสำแดงพระบิดาให้ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายเห็นและพวกข้าพระองค์จะพอใจ"

⁸Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”

⁹พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า "ฟีลิปเอ๋ย เราได้อยู่กับท่านนานถึงเพียงนี้ และท่านยังไม่รู้จักเราหรือ ผู้ที่ได้เห็นเราก็ได้เห็นพระบิดา และท่านจะพูดได้อย่างไรว่า `ขอสำแดงพระบิดาให้ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายเห็น'

⁹Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you such a long time, and do you not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, ‘Show us the Father?’

¹⁰ท่านไม่เชื่อหรือว่า เราอยู่ในพระบิดาและพระบิดาทรงอยู่ในเรา คำซึ่งเรากล่าวแก่ท่านทั้งหลายนั้น เรามิได้กล่าวตามใจชอบ แต่พระบิดาผู้ทรงสถิตอยู่ในเราได้ทรงกระทำพระราชกิจของพระองค์

¹⁰ Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from myself; but the Father who lives in me does his works.

¹¹จงเชื่อเราเถิดว่าเราอยู่ในพระบิดาและพระบิดาทรงอยู่ในเรา หรือมิฉะนั้นก็จงเชื่อเราเพราะกิจการเหล่านั้นเถิด

¹¹ Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

¹²เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ผู้ที่เชื่อในเราจะกระทำกิจการซึ่งเราได้กระทำนั้นด้วย และเขาจะกระทำกิจการที่ยิ่งใหญ่กว่านั้นอีก เพราะว่าเราจะไปถึงพระบิดาของเรา

¹² Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father.

¹³สิ่งใดที่ท่านทั้งหลายจะขอในนามของเรา เราจะกระทำสิ่งนั้น เพื่อว่าพระบิดาจะทรงได้รับเกียรติทางพระบุตร

¹³ Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

¹⁴ถ้าท่านจะขอสิ่งใดในนามของเรา เราจะกระทำสิ่งนั้น

¹⁴ If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.

¹⁵ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายรักเรา จงประพฤติตามบัญญัติของเรา

¹⁵ If you love me, keep my commandments.

¹⁶เราจะทูลขอพระบิดา และพระองค์จะทรงประทานผู้ปลอบประโลมใจอีกผู้หนึ่งให้แก่ท่าน เพื่อพระองค์จะได้อยู่กับท่านตลอดไป

¹⁶ I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, Greek Parakleton: Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, and Comforter. that he may be with you forever,—

¹⁷คือพระวิญญาณแห่งความจริง ผู้ซึ่งโลกรับไว้ไม่ได้ เพราะแลไม่เห็นพระองค์และไม่รู้จักพระองค์ แต่ท่านทั้งหลายรู้จักพระองค์ เพราะพระองค์ทรงสถิตอยู่กับท่านและจะประทับอยู่ในท่าน

¹⁷ the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive; for it doesn’t see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.

¹⁸เราจะไม่ละทิ้งท่านทั้งหลายไว้ให้เปล่าเปลี่ยว เราจะมาหาท่าน

¹⁸ I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.

¹⁹อีกหน่อยหนึ่งโลกก็จะไม่เห็นเราอีกเลย แต่ท่านทั้งหลายจะเห็นเรา เพราะเราเป็นอยู่ ท่านทั้งหลายจะเป็นอยู่ด้วย

¹⁹ Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me. Because I live, you will live also.

²⁰ในวันนั้นท่านทั้งหลายจะรู้ว่า เราอยู่ในพระบิดาของเรา และท่านอยู่ในเรา และเราอยู่ในท่าน

²⁰ In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.

²¹ผู้ใดที่มีบัญญัติของเราและประพฤติตามบัญญัตินั้น ผู้นั้นแหละเป็นผู้ที่รักเรา และผู้ที่รักเรานั้น พระบิดาของเราจะทรงรักเขา และเราจะรักเขา และจะสำแดงตัวของเราเองให้ปรากฏแก่เขา"

²¹ One who has my commandments, and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.”

²²ยูดาส มิใช่อิสคาริโอท ทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า เหตุใดพระองค์จึงจะสำแดงพระองค์แก่พวกข้าพระองค์ และไม่ทรงสำแดงแก่โลก"

²²Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, what has happened that you are about to reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?”

²³พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "ถ้าผู้ใดรักเรา ผู้นั้นจะประพฤติตามคำของเรา และพระบิดาของเราจะทรงรักเขา แล้วพระบิดากับเราจะมาหาเขาและจะอยู่กับเขา

²³Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him.

²⁴ผู้ที่ไม่รักเรา ก็ไม่ประพฤติตามคำของเรา และคำซึ่งท่านได้ยินนี้ไม่ใช่คำของเรา แต่เป็นของพระบิดาผู้ทรงใช้เรามา

²⁴ He who doesn’t love me doesn’t keep my words. The word which you hear isn’t mine, but the Father’s who sent me.

²⁵เราได้กล่าวคำเหล่านี้แก่ท่านทั้งหลายเมื่อเรายังอยู่กับท่าน

²⁵ I have said these things to you, while still living with you.

²⁶แต่พระองค์ผู้ปลอบประโลมใจนั้นคือพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ ผู้ซึ่งพระบิดาจะทรงใช้มาในนามของเรา พระองค์นั้นจะทรงสอนท่านทั้งหลายทุกสิ่ง และจะให้ท่านระลึกถึงทุกสิ่งที่เราได้กล่าวไว้แก่ท่านแล้ว

²⁶ But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.

²⁷เรามอบสันติสุขไว้ให้แก่ท่านแล้ว สันติสุขของเราที่ให้แก่ท่านนั้น เราให้ท่านไม่เหมือนโลกให้ อย่าให้ใจของท่านวิตกและอย่ากลัวเลย

²⁷ Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

²⁸ท่านได้ยินเรากล่าวแก่ท่านว่า `เราจะจากไปและจะกลับมาหาท่านอีก' ถ้าท่านรักเรา ท่านก็จะชื่นชมยินดีที่เราว่า `เราจะไปหาพระบิดา' เพราะพระบิดาของเราทรงเป็นใหญ่กว่าเรา

²⁸ You heard how I told you, ‘I go away, and I come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I said ‘I am going to my Father;’ for the Father is greater than I.

²⁹และบัดนี้เราได้บอกท่านทั้งหลายก่อนที่เหตุการณ์นั้นจะเกิดขึ้น เพื่อว่าเมื่อเหตุการณ์นั้นเกิดขึ้นแล้ว ท่านทั้งหลายจะได้เชื่อ

²⁹ Now I have told you before it happens so that, when it happens, you may believe.

³⁰แต่นี้ไปเราจะไม่สนทนากับท่านทั้งหลายมากนัก เพราะว่าผู้ครองโลกนี้จะมาและไม่มีสิทธิอำนาจอะไรเหนือเรา

³⁰ I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world comes, and he has nothing in me.

³¹แต่เราได้กระทำตามที่พระบิดาได้ทรงบัญชาเรา เพื่อโลกจะได้รู้ว่าเรารักพระบิดา จงลุกขึ้น ให้เราทั้งหลายไปกันเถิด"

³¹ But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father commanded me, even so I do. Arise, let us go from here.
