1ต่อมาเมื่อพระองค์ทรงอธิษฐานอยู่ในที่แห่งหนึ่ง พอจบแล้วสาวกของพระองค์คนหนึ่งทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ขอสอนพวกข้าพระองค์ให้อธิษฐาน เหมือนยอห์นได้สอนพวกศิษย์ของตน"
1It happened, that when he finished praying in a certain place, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”
2พระองค์จึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เมื่อท่านอธิษฐานจงว่า `ข้าแต่พระบิดาของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลาย ผู้สถิตในสวรรค์ ขอให้พระนามของพระองค์เป็นที่เคารพสักการะ ขอให้อาณาจักรของพระองค์มาตั้งอยู่ น้ำพระทัยของพระองค์สำเร็จในสวรรค์อย่างไร ก็ให้สำเร็จบนแผ่นดินโลกเหมือนกันอย่างนั้น
2He said to them, “When you pray, say, ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
3ขอทรงโปรดประทานอาหารประจำวันแก่ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายทุกๆวัน
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4ขอทรงโปรดยกบาปผิดของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลาย ด้วยว่าข้าพระองค์ยกความผิดของทุกคนที่ทำผิดต่อข้าพระองค์นั้น ขออย่าทรงนำข้าพระองค์เข้าไปในการทดลอง แต่ขอให้ข้าพระองค์พ้นจากสิ่งชั่วร้าย'"
4 Forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’”
5พระองค์ตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ผู้ใดในพวกท่านมีมิตรสหายคนหนึ่ง และจะไปหามิตรสหายนั้นในเวลาเที่ยงคืนพูดกับเขาว่า `เพื่อนเอ๋ย ขอให้ฉันยืมขนมปังสามก้อนเถิด
5He said to them, “Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight, and tell him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
6เพราะเพื่อนของฉันคนหนึ่งเพิ่งเดินทางมาหาฉัน และฉันไม่มีอะไรจะให้เขารับประทาน'
6 for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’
7ฝ่ายมิตรสหายที่อยู่ข้างในจะตอบว่า `อย่ารบกวนฉันเลย ประตูก็ปิดเสียแล้ว ทั้งพวกลูกก็นอนร่วมเตียงกับฉันแล้ว ฉันจะลุกขึ้นหยิบให้ท่านไม่ได้'
7 and he from within will answer and say, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’?
8เราบอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า แม้เขาจะไม่ลุกขึ้นหยิบให้คนนั้นเพราะเป็นมิตรสหายกัน แต่ว่าเพราะวิงวอนมากเข้า เขาจึงจะลุกขึ้นหยิบให้ตามที่เขาต้องการ
8 I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.
9เราบอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า จงขอแล้วจะได้ จงหาแล้วจะพบ จงเคาะแล้วจะเปิดให้แก่ท่าน
9 “I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.
10เพราะว่าทุกคนที่ขอก็จะได้ ทุกคนที่แสวงหาก็จะพบ และทุกคนที่เคาะก็จะเปิดให้เขา
10 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
11มีผู้ใดในพวกท่านที่เป็นบิดา ถ้าบุตรขอขนมปังจะเอาก้อนหินให้เขาหรือ หรือถ้าขอปลาจะเอางูให้เขาแทนปลาหรือ
11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?
12หรือถ้าเขาขอไข่จะเอาแมงป่องให้เขาหรือ
12 Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he?
13เพราะฉะนั้น ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายเองผู้เป็นคนชั่ว ยังรู้จักให้ของดีแก่บุตรของตน ยิ่งกว่านั้นสักเท่าใด พระบิดาของท่านผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์ จะทรงประทานพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์แก่ผู้ที่ขอต่อพระองค์"
13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”
14พระองค์ทรงกำลังขับผีใบ้ และต่อมาเมื่อผีออกแล้ว คนใบ้จึงพูดได้ และประชาชนก็ประหลาดใจ
14He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. It happened, when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the multitudes marveled.
15แต่บางคนในพวกเขาพูดว่า "คนนี้ขับผีออกได้โดยใช้อำนาจของเบเอลเซบูลนายผีนั้น"
15But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
16คนอื่นๆทดลองพระองค์ โดยขอจากพระองค์ให้เห็นหมายสำคัญจากสวรรค์
16Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven.
17แต่พระองค์ทรงทราบความคิดของเขา จึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "ราชอาณาจักรใดๆซึ่งแตกแยกกันเองก็จะรกร้างไป ครัวเรือนใดๆซึ่งแตกแยกกับครัวเรือนก็จะล่มสลาย
17But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. A house divided against itself falls.
18และถ้าซาตานแก่งแย่งกันระหว่างมันเอง อาณาจักรของมันจะตั้งอยู่อย่างไรได้ เพราะท่านทั้งหลายว่าเราขับผีออกโดยเบเอลเซบูล
18 If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.
19ถ้าเราขับผีออกโดยเบเอลเซบูลนั้น พวกพ้องของท่านทั้งหลายขับมันออกโดยอำนาจของใครเล่า เหตุฉะนั้นพวกพ้องของท่านเองจะเป็นผู้ตัดสินกล่าวโทษพวกท่าน
19 But if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore will they be your judges.
20แต่ถ้าเราขับผีออกด้วยนิ้วพระหัตถ์ของพระเจ้า อาณาจักรของพระเจ้าก็มาถึงท่านแล้ว
20 But if I by the finger of God cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come to you.
21เมื่อผู้มีกำลังมากคนหนึ่งถืออาวุธเฝ้าบ้านของตนอยู่ สิ่งของของเขาก็ปลอดภัย
21 “When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe.
22แต่เมื่อคนมีกำลังมากกว่าเขามาต่อสู้ชนะเขา คนนั้นก็ชิงเอาเครื่องอาวุธที่เขาได้วางใจนั้นไปเสีย แล้วแบ่งปันของที่เขาได้ริบเอาไปนั้น
22 But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.
23ผู้ใดไม่อยู่ฝ่ายเราก็เป็นปฏิปักษ์ต่อเรา และผู้ใดไม่รวบรวมไว้กับเราก็เป็นผู้กระทำให้กระจัดกระจายไป
23 “He that is not with me is against me. He who doesn’t gather with me scatters.
24เมื่อผีโสโครกออกมาจากผู้ใดแล้ว มันก็ท่องเที่ยวไปในที่กันดารเพื่อแสวงหาที่หยุดพัก และเมื่อไม่พบมันจึงกล่าวว่า `ข้าจะกลับไปยังเรือนของข้าที่ได้ออกมานั้น'
24 The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of the man, passes through dry places, seeking rest, and finding none, he says, ‘I will turn back to my house from which I came out.’
25และเมื่อมาถึงก็เห็นเรือนนั้นกวาดและตกแต่งไว้แล้ว
25 When he returns, he finds it swept and put in order.
26มันจึงไปรับเอาผีอื่นอีกเจ็ดผีร้ายกว่ามันเอง แล้วก็เข้าไปอาศัยอยู่ที่นั่น และในที่สุดคนนั้นก็เลวร้ายกว่าตอนแรก"
26 Then he goes, and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”
27ต่อมาเมื่อพระองค์ยังตรัสคำเหล่านั้น มีผู้หญิงคนหนึ่งในหมู่ประชาชนร้องทูลพระองค์ว่า "ครรภ์ซึ่งปฏิสนธิพระองค์และหัวนมที่พระองค์เสวยนั้นก็เป็นสุข"
27It came to pass, as he said these things, a certain woman out of the multitude lifted up her voice, and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts which nursed you!”
28แต่พระองค์ตรัสว่า "มิใช่เช่นนั้น แต่คนทั้งหลายที่ได้ยินพระวจนะของพระเจ้า และได้ถือรักษาพระวจนะนั้นไว้ ก็เป็นสุข"
28But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”
29เมื่อคนทั้งปวงประชุมแน่นขึ้น พระองค์ตั้งต้นตรัสว่า "คนยุคนี้เป็นคนชั่ว มีแต่แสวงหาหมายสำคัญ และจะไม่โปรดให้หมายสำคัญแก่เขา เว้นไว้แต่หมายสำคัญของโยนาห์ศาสดาพยากรณ์เท่านั้น
29When the multitudes were gathering together to him, he began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks after a sign. No sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah, the prophet.
30ด้วยว่าโยนาห์ได้เป็นหมายสำคัญแก่ชาวนีนะเวห์ฉันใด บุตรมนุษย์จะเป็นหมายสำคัญแก่คนยุคนี้ฉันนั้น
30 For even as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will also the Son of Man be to this generation.
31นางกษัตริย์ฝ่ายทิศใต้จะลุกขึ้นในวันพิพากษาพร้อมกับคนยุคนี้ และจะกล่าวโทษคนในยุคนี้ ด้วยว่าพระนางนั้นได้มาจากที่สุดปลายแผ่นดินโลกเพื่อจะฟังสติปัญญาของซาโลมอน และดูเถิด ซึ่งใหญ่กว่าซาโลมอนก็มีอยู่ที่นี่
31 The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and will condemn them: for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, one greater than Solomon is here.
32ชนชาวนีนะเวห์จะลุกขึ้นในวันพิพากษาพร้อมกับคนยุคนี้ และจะกล่าวโทษคนในยุคนี้ ด้วยว่าชาวนีนะเวห์ได้กลับใจใหม่เพราะคำประกาศของโยนาห์ และดูเถิด ซึ่งใหญ่กว่าโยนาห์มีอยู่ที่นี่
32 The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, one greater than Jonah is here.
33ไม่มีผู้ใดเมื่อจุดเทียนแล้วจะตั้งไว้ในที่กำบัง หรือเอาถังครอบไว้ แต่ตั้งไว้บนเชิงเทียน เพื่อคนทั้งหลายที่เข้ามาจะเห็นแสงสว่างได้
33 “No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light.
34ตาเป็นประทีปของร่างกาย เหตุฉะนั้นเมื่อตาของท่านดี ทั้งตัวก็พลอยสว่างไปด้วย แต่เมื่อตาของท่านชั่ว ทั้งตัวของท่านก็พลอยมืดไปด้วย
34 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
35เหตุฉะนั้น จงระวังให้ดีไม่ให้ความสว่างซึ่งอยู่ในท่านเป็นความมืดนั่นเอง
35 Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness.
36เหตุฉะนั้น ถ้ากายทั้งสิ้นของท่านเต็มด้วยความสว่าง ไม่มีที่มืดเลย ก็จะสว่างตลอด เหมือนอย่างแสงสว่างของเทียนที่ส่องมาให้ท่าน"
36 If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light.”
37เมื่อพระองค์ยังตรัสอยู่ คนหนึ่งในพวกฟาริสีอ้อนวอนพระองค์ให้เสวยกับเขา พระองค์จึงเสด็จเข้าไปทรงเอนพระกายลง
37Now as he spoke, a certain Pharisee asked him to dine with him. He went in, and sat at the table.
38ฝ่ายคนฟาริสีเมื่อเห็นพระองค์มิได้ทรงล้างก่อนเสวยก็ประหลาดใจ
38When the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that he had not first washed himself before dinner.
39องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสกับเขาว่า "เจ้าพวกฟาริสีย่อมชำระถ้วยชามภายนอก แต่ภายในของเจ้าเต็มไปด้วยความโลภและความชั่วร้าย
39The Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.
40คนโฉดเขลา ผู้ที่ได้สร้างภายนอกก็ได้สร้างภายในด้วยมิใช่หรือ
40 You foolish ones, didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also?
41แต่จงให้ทานตามซึ่งเจ้ามีอยู่ภายใน และดูเถิด สิ่งสารพัดก็บริสุทธิ์แก่เจ้าทั้งหลาย
41 But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.
42แต่วิบัติแก่เจ้า พวกฟาริสี ด้วยว่าพวกเจ้าถวายสิบชักหนึ่งของสะระแหน่และขมิ้นและผักทุกอย่าง และได้ละเว้นการพิพากษาและความรักของพระเจ้าเสีย สิ่งเหล่านั้นพวกเจ้าควรได้กระทำอยู่แล้ว แต่สิ่งอื่นนั้นก็ไม่ควรละเว้นด้วย
42 But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you bypass justice and the love of God. You ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
43วิบัติแก่เจ้า พวกฟาริสี ด้วยว่าพวกเจ้าชอบที่นั่งอันมีเกียรติในธรรมศาลาและชอบให้เขาคำนับที่กลางตลาด
43 Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues, and the greetings in the marketplaces.
44วิบัติแก่เจ้า พวกธรรมาจารย์และพวกฟาริสี คนหน้าซื่อใจคด ด้วยว่าเจ้าทั้งหลายเป็นเหมือนที่ฝังศพซึ่งมิได้ปรากฏ และคนที่เดินเหยียบที่นั่นก็ไม่รู้ว่ามีอะไร"
44 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves, and the men who walk over them don’t know it.”
45บาเรียนคนหนึ่งทูลพระองค์ว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ซึ่งท่านว่าอย่างนั้น ท่านก็ติเตียนพวกเราด้วย"
45One of the lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying this you insult us also.”
46พระองค์ตรัสว่า "วิบัติแก่เจ้า พวกบาเรียนด้วย เพราะพวกเจ้าเอาของหนักที่แบกยากนักวางบนมนุษย์ แต่ส่วนพวกเจ้าเองก็ไม่จับต้องของหนักนั้นเลยแม้แต่นิ้วเดียว
46He said, “Woe to you lawyers also! For you load men with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won’t even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.
47วิบัติแก่เจ้าทั้งหลาย เพราะเจ้าก่ออุโมงค์ฝังศพของพวกศาสดาพยากรณ์ และบรรพบุรุษของเจ้าเองก็ได้ฆ่าศาสดาพยากรณ์นั้น
47 Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
48ดังนั้นพวกเจ้าจึงเป็นพยานว่าเจ้าเห็นชอบในการของบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า ด้วยว่าเขาได้ฆ่าพวกศาสดาพยากรณ์นั้น แล้วพวกเจ้าก็ก่ออุโมงค์ฝังศพให้
48 So you testify and consent to the works of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their tombs.
49เหตุฉะนั้น พระปัญญาของพระเจ้าก็ตรัสด้วยว่า `เราจะใช้พวกศาสดาพยากรณ์และอัครสาวกไปหาเขา และเขาจะฆ่าเสียบ้าง และข่มเหงบ้าง'
49 Therefore also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send to them prophets and apostles; and some of them they will kill and persecute,
50เพื่อคนยุคนี้แหละจะต้องรับผิดชอบในเรื่องโลหิตของบรรดาศาสดาพยากรณ์ ซึ่งต้องไหลออกตั้งแต่แรกสร้างโลก
50 that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
51คือตั้งแต่โลหิตของอาแบล จนถึงโลหิตของเศคาริยาห์ที่ถูกฆ่าตายระหว่างแท่นบูชากับพระวิหาร เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า คนยุคนี้จะต้องรับผิดชอบในโลหิตนั้น
51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.’ Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation.
52วิบัติแก่เจ้า พวกบาเรียน ด้วยว่าเจ้าได้เอาลูกกุญแจแห่งความรู้ไปเสีย คือพวกเจ้าเองก็ไม่เข้าไป และคนที่กำลังเข้าไปนั้นเจ้าก็ได้ขัดขวางไว้"
52 Woe to you lawyers! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn’t enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered.”
53เมื่อพระองค์ยังตรัสคำเหล่านั้นแก่เขา พวกธรรมาจารย์และพวกฟาริสีก็ตั้งต้นยั่วเย้าพระองค์อย่างรุนแรง หมายให้ตรัสต่อไปหลายประการ
53As he said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly angry, and to draw many things out of him;
54คอยหวังจับผิดในพระดำรัสของพระองค์ เพื่อเขาจะฟ้องพระองค์ได้
54lying in wait for him, and seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.
