¹พระองค์ทรงเรียกสาวกสิบสองคนของพระองค์มาพร้อมกัน แล้วทรงประทานให้เขามีอำนาจและสิทธิอำนาจเหนือผีทั้งปวงและรักษาโรคต่างๆให้หาย

¹He called the twelve TR reads “his twelve disciples” instead of “the twelve” together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.

²แล้วพระองค์ทรงใช้เขาไปประกาศอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า และรักษาคนป่วยเจ็บให้หาย

²He sent them forth to preach the Kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

³พระองค์จึงตรัสสั่งเขาว่า "อย่าเอาอะไรไปใช้ตามทาง เช่น ไม้เท้า หรือย่าม หรืออาหาร หรือเงิน หรือเสื้อคลุมสองตัว

³He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey—neither staffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money; neither have two coats apiece.

⁴และถ้าเข้าไปในเรือนไหน จงอาศัยอยู่ในเรือนนั้นจนกว่าจะไป

⁴ Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.

⁵ผู้ใดไม่ต้อนรับพวกท่าน เมื่อท่านจะไปจากเมืองนั้น จงสะบัดผงคลีดินจากเท้าของท่านออกส่อให้เห็นความผิดของเขา"

⁵ As many as don’t receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.”

⁶เหล่าสาวกจึงออกไปตามหมู่บ้านประกาศข่าวประเสริฐ และรักษาคนป่วยเจ็บทุกแห่งให้หาย

⁶They departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News, and healing everywhere.

⁷ฝ่ายเฮโรดเจ้าเมืองได้ยินเรื่องเหตุการณ์ทั้งปวงซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำนั้น จึงคิดสงสัยมาก เพราะบางคนว่ายอห์นเป็นขึ้นมาจากความตาย

⁷Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him; and he was very perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead,

⁸บางคนก็ว่าเป็นเอลียาห์มาปรากฏ คนอื่นว่าเป็นศาสดาพยากรณ์โบราณกลับเป็นขึ้นมาอีก

⁸and by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the old prophets had risen again.

⁹เฮโรดจึงว่า "ยอห์นนั้นเราได้ตัดศีรษะแล้ว แต่คนนี้ที่เราได้ยินเหตุการณ์ของเขาอย่างนี้คือผู้ใดเล่า" แล้วเฮโรดจึงหาโอกาสที่จะเห็นพระองค์

⁹Herod said, “John I beheaded, but who is this, about whom I hear such things?” He sought to see him.

¹⁰ครั้นอัครสาวกกลับมาแล้ว เขาทูลพระองค์ถึงบรรดาการซึ่งเขาได้กระทำนั้น พระองค์จึงพาเขาไปยังที่เปลี่ยวแต่ลำพังใกล้เมืองที่เรียกว่าเบธไซดา

¹⁰The apostles, when they had returned, told him what things they had done. He took them, and withdrew apart to a deserted place of a city called Bethsaida.

¹¹แต่เมื่อประชาชนรู้แล้วจึงตามพระองค์ไป พระองค์ทรงต้อนรับเขา ตรัสสั่งสอนเขาถึงอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า และทุกคนที่ต้องการให้หายโรคพระองค์ก็ทรงรักษาให้

¹¹But the multitudes, perceiving it, followed him. He welcomed them, and spoke to them of the Kingdom of God, and he cured those who needed healing.

¹²ครั้นกำลังจะเย็นแล้ว สาวกสิบสองคนมาทูลพระองค์ว่า "ขอให้ประชาชนไปตามบ้านไร่บ้านนาที่อยู่แถบนี้ หาที่พักนอนและหาอาหารรับประทาน เพราะที่เราอยู่นี้เป็นที่เปลี่ยว"

¹²The day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said to him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.”

¹³แต่พระองค์ตรัสแก่เขาว่า "พวกท่านจงเลี้ยงเขาเถิด" เขาทูลว่า "เราไม่มีอะไรมาก มีแต่ขนมปังห้าก้อนกับปลาสองตัว เว้นเสียแต่เราจะไปซื้ออาหารสำหรับคนทั้งปวงนี้"

¹³But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we should go and buy food for all these people.”

¹⁴เพราะว่าคนเหล่านั้นนับแต่ผู้ชายได้ประมาณห้าพันคน พระองค์จึงสั่งเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ว่า "จงให้คนทั้งปวงนั่งลงเป็นหมู่ๆ ราวหมู่ละห้าสิบคน"

¹⁴For they were about five thousand men. He said to his disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of about fifty each.”

¹⁵เขาก็กระทำตาม คือให้คนทั้งปวงนั่งลง

¹⁵They did so, and made them all sit down.

¹⁶เมื่อพระองค์ทรงรับขนมปังห้าก้อนกับปลาสองตัวนั้นแล้ว ก็แหงนพระพักตร์ดูฟ้าสวรรค์ขอบพระคุณ แล้วหักส่งให้แก่เหล่าสาวก ให้เขาแจกแก่ประชาชน

¹⁶He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.

¹⁷เขาได้กินอิ่มทุกคน แล้วเขาเก็บเศษอาหารที่ยังเหลือนั้นได้สิบสองกระบุง

¹⁷They ate, and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.

¹⁸ต่อมาเมื่อพระองค์กำลังอธิษฐานอยู่แต่ลำพัง เหล่าสาวกอยู่กับพระองค์ พระองค์จึงตรัสถามเขาว่า "คนทั้งปวงพูดกันว่า เราเป็นผู้ใด"

¹⁸It happened, as he was praying alone, that the disciples were with him, and he asked them, “Who do the multitudes say that I am?”

¹⁹เหล่าสาวกทูลตอบว่า "เขาว่าเป็นยอห์นผู้ให้รับบัพติศมา บางคนว่าเป็นเอลียาห์ แต่คนอื่นว่าเป็นคนหนึ่งในพวกศาสดาพยากรณ์โบราณเป็นขึ้นมาใหม่"

¹⁹They answered, “‘John the Baptizer,’ but others say, ‘Elijah,’ and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again.”

²⁰พระองค์จึงตรัสถามเขาว่า "แล้วพวกท่านเล่าว่าเราเป็นใคร" เปโตรทูลตอบว่า "เป็นพระคริสต์ของพระเจ้า"

²⁰He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”

²¹พระองค์จึงกำชับสั่งเขามิให้บอกความนี้แก่ผู้ใด

²¹But he warned them, and commanded them to tell this to no one,

²²ตรัสว่า "บุตรมนุษย์จะต้องทนทุกข์ทรมานหลายประการ พวกผู้ใหญ่ พวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ และพวกธรรมาจารย์จะปฏิเสธท่าน ในที่สุดท่านจะต้องถูกประหารชีวิต แต่ในวันที่สามท่านจะทรงถูกชุบให้เป็นขึ้นมาใหม่"

²²saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.”

²³พระองค์จึงตรัสแก่เขาทั้งหลายว่า "ถ้าผู้ใดจะใคร่ตามเรามา ให้ผู้นั้นเอาชนะตัวเอง และรับกางเขนของตนแบกทุกวัน และตามเรามา

²³He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, TR, NU add “daily” and follow me.

²⁴เพราะว่าผู้ใดใคร่จะเอาชีวิตรอด ผู้นั้นจะเสียชีวิต แต่ผู้ใดจะเสียชีวิตเพราะเห็นแก่เรา ผู้นั้นจะได้ชีวิตรอด

²⁴ For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it.

²⁵เพราะถ้าผู้ใดจะได้สิ่งของสิ้นทั้งโลกแต่ต้องเสียตัวของตนเองหรือถูกทิ้งเสีย ผู้นั้นจะได้ประโยชน์อะไร

²⁵ For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?

²⁶เพราะถ้าผู้ใดมีความอายเพราะเราและถ้อยคำของเรา บุตรมนุษย์ก็จะมีความอายเพราะผู้นั้น เมื่อท่านมาด้วยสง่าราศีของท่านเองและของพระบิดาและของเหล่าทูตสวรรค์บริสุทธิ์

²⁶ For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.

²⁷แต่เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า มีบางคนที่ยืนอยู่ที่นี่ ซึ่งยังจะไม่รู้รสความตายจนกว่าจะได้เห็นอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า"

²⁷ But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here, who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Kingdom of God.”

²⁸ต่อมาภายหลังพระองค์ได้ตรัสคำเหล่านั้นประมาณแปดวัน พระองค์จึงทรงพาเปโตร ยอห์น และยากอบขึ้นไปบนภูเขาเพื่อจะอธิษฐาน

²⁸It happened about eight days after these sayings, that he took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up onto the mountain to pray.

²⁹ขณะที่พระองค์กำลังอธิษฐานอยู่ วรรณพระพักตร์ของพระองค์ก็เปลี่ยนไป และฉลองพระองค์ก็ขาวเป็นมันระยับ

²⁹As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling.

³⁰ดูเถิด มีชายสองคนสนทนาอยู่กับพระองค์ คือโมเสส และเอลียาห์

³⁰Behold, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah,

³¹ผู้มาปรากฏด้วยสง่าราศี และกล่าวถึงการมรณาของพระองค์ ซึ่งจะสำเร็จในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม

³¹who appeared in glory, and spoke of his departure, literally, “exodus” which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

³²ฝ่ายเปโตรกับคนที่อยู่ด้วยนั้นก็ง่วงเหงาหาวนอน แต่เมื่อเขาตาสว่างขึ้นแล้วเขาก็ได้เห็นสง่าราศีของพระองค์ และเห็นชายสองคนนั้นที่ยืนอยู่กับพระองค์

³²Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.

³³ต่อมาเมื่อสองคนนั้นกำลังลาไปจากพระองค์ เปโตรจึงทูลพระเยซูว่า "พระอาจารย์เจ้าข้า ซึ่งเราอยู่ที่นี่ก็ดี ให้พวกข้าพระองค์ทำพลับพลาสามหลัง สำหรับพระองค์หลังหนึ่ง สำหรับโมเสสหลังหนึ่ง สำหรับเอลียาห์หลังหนึ่ง" เปโตรไม่เข้าใจว่าตัวได้พูดอะไร

³³It happened, as they were parting from him, that Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah,” not knowing what he said.

³⁴เมื่อเขากำลังพูดคำเหล่านี้ มีเมฆมาคลุมเขาไว้ และเมื่อเข้าอยู่ในเมฆนั้นเขาก็กลัว

³⁴While he said these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud.

³⁵มีพระสุรเสียงออกมาจากเมฆนั้นว่า "ผู้นี้เป็นบุตรที่รักของเรา จงฟังท่านเถิด"

³⁵A voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him!”

³⁶เมื่อพระสุรเสียงนั้นสงบแล้ว พระเยซูทรงสถิตอยู่องค์เดียว เขาทั้งสามก็เก็บเรื่องนี้ไว้ และในกาลครั้งนั้นเขามิได้บอกเหตุการณ์ซึ่งเขาได้เห็นแก่ผู้ใด

³⁶When the voice came, Jesus was found alone. They were silent, and told no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.

³⁷ต่อมาวันรุ่งขึ้นเมื่อพระองค์กับเหล่าสาวกลงมาจากภูเขาแล้ว มีคนมากมายมาพบพระองค์

³⁷It happened on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, that a great multitude met him.

³⁸ดูเถิด มีชายคนหนึ่งในหมู่ประชาชนนั้นร้องว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ขอพระองค์ทรงโปรดทอดพระเนตรบุตรชายของข้าพเจ้า เพราะว่าข้าพเจ้ามีบุตรคนเดียว

³⁸Behold, a man from the crowd called out, saying, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child.

³⁹และ ดูเถิด ผีมักจะเข้าสิงเขา เด็กก็โห่ร้องขึ้นทันที ผีทำให้เด็กนั้นชักดิ้น น้ำลายฟูมปาก ทำให้ตัวฟกช้ำ ไม่ใคร่ออกจากเขาเลย

³⁹Behold, a spirit takes him, he suddenly cries out, and it convulses him so that he foams, and it hardly departs from him, bruising him severely.

⁴⁰ข้าพเจ้าได้ขอเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ให้ขับมันออกเสีย แต่เขากระทำไม่ได้"

⁴⁰I begged your disciples to cast it out, and they couldn’t.”

⁴¹พระเยซูตรัสตอบว่า "โอ คนในยุคที่ขาดความเชื่อและมีทิฐิชั่ว เราจะต้องอยู่กับเจ้าทั้งหลายและอดทนเพราะพวกเจ้านานเท่าใด จงพาบุตรของท่านมาที่นี่เถิด"

⁴¹Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.”

⁴²เมื่อเด็กนั้นกำลังมา ผีก็ทำให้เขาล้มชักดิ้นใหญ่ แต่พระเยซูตรัสสำทับผีโสโครกนั้นและทรงรักษาเด็กให้หาย แล้วส่งคืนให้บิดาเขา

⁴²While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

⁴³คนทั้งปวงก็ประหลาดใจนักเพราะฤทธิ์เดชอันใหญ่ยิ่งของพระเจ้า แต่เมื่อเขาทั้งหลายยังประหลาดใจอยู่เพราะเหตุการณ์ทั้งปวงซึ่งพระเยซูได้ทรงกระทำนั้น พระองค์จึงตรัสแก่เหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ว่า

⁴³They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did, he said to his disciples,

⁴⁴"จงให้คำเหล่านี้เข้าหูของท่าน เพราะว่าบุตรมนุษย์จะต้องถูกมอบไว้ในมือมนุษย์"

⁴⁴ “Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men.”

⁴⁵แต่คำเหล่านั้นสาวกหาได้เข้าใจไม่ ความก็ถูกซ่อนไว้จากเขา เพื่อเขาจะไม่ได้เข้าใจ และเขาไม่กล้าถามพระองค์ถึงคำนั้น

⁴⁵But they didn’t understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

⁴⁶แล้วเหล่าสาวกก็เกิดเถียงกันว่า ในพวกเขาใครจะเป็นใหญ่ที่สุด

⁴⁶There arose an argument among them about which of them was the greatest.

⁴⁷ฝ่ายพระเยซูทรงหยั่งรู้ความคิดในใจของเขา จึงให้เด็กคนหนึ่งยืนอยู่ใกล้พระองค์

⁴⁷Jesus, perceiving the reasoning of their hearts, took a little child, and set him by his side,

⁴⁸แล้วตรัสกับเขาว่า "ถ้าผู้ใดจะรับเด็กเล็กๆคนนี้ในนามของเรา ผู้นั้นก็ได้รับเรา และผู้ใดได้รับเรา ผู้นั้นก็ได้รับพระองค์ผู้ทรงใช้เรามา เพราะว่าในพวกท่านทั้งหลาย ผู้ใดเป็นผู้ต่ำต้อยที่สุด ผู้นั้นแหละเป็นผู้ใหญ่"

⁴⁸and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one will be great.”

⁴⁹ฝ่ายยอห์นทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระอาจารย์เจ้าข้า พวกข้าพระองค์เห็นผู้หนึ่งขับผีออกในพระนามของพระองค์ และข้าพระองค์ได้ห้ามเขาเสีย เพราะเขาไม่ตามพวกเรามา"

⁴⁹John answered, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow with us.”

⁵⁰พระเยซูตรัสแก่เขาว่า "อย่าห้ามเขาเลย เพราะว่าผู้ใดไม่เป็นฝ่ายต่อสู้เรา ก็เป็นฝ่ายเราแล้ว"

⁵⁰Jesus said to him, “Don’t forbid him, for he who is not against us is for us.”

⁵¹ต่อมาครั้นจวนเวลาที่พระองค์จะทรงถูกรับขึ้นไป พระองค์ทรงมุ่งพระพักตร์แน่วไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม

⁵¹It came to pass, when the days were near that he should be taken up, he intently set his face to go to Jerusalem,

⁵²และพระองค์ทรงใช้ผู้ส่งข่าวล่วงหน้าไปก่อน เขาก็เข้าไปในหมู่บ้านแห่งหนึ่งของชาวสะมาเรียเพื่อจะเตรียมไว้ให้พระองค์

⁵²and sent messengers before his face. They went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, so as to prepare for him.

⁵³ชาวบ้านนั้นไม่รับรองพระองค์ เพราะดูเหมือนว่าพระองค์กำลังทรงมุ่งพระพักตร์ไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม

⁵³They didn’t receive him, because he was traveling with his face set towards Jerusalem.

⁵⁴และเมื่อสาวกของพระองค์ คือยากอบและยอห์นได้เห็นดังนั้น เขาทูลว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า พระองค์พอพระทัยจะให้ข้าพระองค์ขอไฟลงมาจากสวรรค์ เผาผลาญเขาเสียอย่างเอลียาห์ได้กระทำนั้นหรือ"

⁵⁴When his disciples, James and John, saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from the sky, and destroy them, just as Elijah did?”

⁵⁵แต่พระองค์ทรงเหลียวมาห้ามปรามเขา และตรัสว่า "ท่านไม่รู้ว่าท่านมีจิตใจทำนองใด

⁵⁵But he turned and rebuked them, “You don’t know of what kind of spirit you are.

⁵⁶เพราะว่าบุตรมนุษย์มิได้มาเพื่อทำลายชีวิตมนุษย์ แต่มาเพื่อช่วยเขาทั้งหลายให้รอด" แล้วพระองค์กับเหล่าสาวกก็เลยไปที่หมู่บ้านอีกแห่งหนึ่ง

⁵⁶ For the Son of Man didn’t come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” They went to another village.

⁵⁷ต่อมาเมื่อพระองค์กับเหล่าสาวกกำลังเดินทางไป มีคนหนึ่งทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า พระองค์เสด็จไปทางไหน ข้าพระองค์จะตามพระองค์ไปทางนั้น"

⁵⁷As they went on the way, a certain man said to him, “I want to follow you wherever you go, Lord.”

⁵⁸พระเยซูตรัสแก่เขาว่า "สุนัขจิ้งจอกยังมีโพรง และนกในอากาศก็ยังมีรัง แต่บุตรมนุษย์ไม่มีที่ที่จะวางศีรษะ"

⁵⁸Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

⁵⁹พระองค์ตรัสแก่อีกคนหนึ่งว่า "จงตามเรามาเถิด" แต่คนนั้นทูลตอบว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ขอทรงโปรดให้ข้าพระองค์ไปฝังศพบิดาข้าพระองค์ก่อน"

⁵⁹He said to another, “Follow me!” But he said, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”

⁶⁰พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "ปล่อยให้คนตายฝังคนตายของเขาเองเถิด แต่ส่วนท่านจงไปประกาศอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า"

⁶⁰But Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce the Kingdom of God.”

⁶¹อีกคนหนึ่งทูลว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ข้าพระองค์จะตามพระองค์ไป แต่ขออนุญาตให้ข้าพระองค์ไปลาคนที่อยู่ในบ้านของข้าพระองค์ก่อน"

⁶¹Another also said, “I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say good-bye to those who are at my house.”

⁶²พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า "ผู้ใดเอามือจับคันไถแล้วหันหน้ากลับเสีย ผู้นั้นก็ไม่สมควรกับอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า"

⁶²But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.”
