¹ในเวลานั้นเหล่าสาวกมาเฝ้าพระเยซูทูลว่า "ใครเป็นใหญ่ที่สุดในอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์"

¹In that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”

²พระเยซูจึงทรงเรียกเด็กเล็กๆคนหนึ่งมาให้อยู่ท่ามกลางเขา

²Jesus called a little child to himself, and set him in their midst,

³แล้วตรัสว่า "เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ถ้าพวกท่านไม่กลับใจเป็นเหมือนเด็กเล็กๆ ท่านจะเข้าในอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์ไม่ได้เลย

³and said, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn, and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

⁴เหตุฉะนั้น ถ้าผู้ใดจะถ่อมจิตใจลงเหมือนเด็กเล็กคนนี้ ผู้นั้นจะเป็นใหญ่ที่สุดในอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์

⁴ Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

⁵ถ้าผู้ใดจะรับเด็กเล็กเช่นนี้คนหนึ่งในนามของเรา ผู้นั้นก็รับเรา

⁵ Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me,

⁶แต่ผู้ใดจะทำผู้เล็กน้อยเหล่านี้คนหนึ่งที่เชื่อในเราให้หลงผิด ถ้าเอาหินโม่ก้อนใหญ่ผูกคอผู้นั้นถ่วงเสียที่ทะเลลึกก็ดีกว่า

⁶ but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone should be hung around his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depths of the sea.

⁷วิบัติแก่โลกนี้ด้วยเหตุให้หลงผิด ถึงจำเป็นต้องมีเหตุให้หลงผิด แต่วิบัติแก่ผู้ที่ก่อเหตุให้เกิดความหลงผิดนั้น

⁷ “Woe to the world because of occasions of stumbling! For it must be that the occasions come, but woe to that person through whom the occasion comes!

⁸ด้วยเหตุนี้ถ้ามือหรือเท้าของท่านทำให้ท่านหลงผิด จงตัดออกและโยนมันทิ้งเสียจากท่าน ซึ่งท่านจะเข้าสู่ชีวิตด้วยมือและเท้าด้วนยังดีกว่ามีสองมือสองเท้า และต้องถูกทิ้งในไฟซึ่งไหม้อยู่เป็นนิตย์

⁸ If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life maimed or crippled, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire.

⁹ถ้าตาของท่านทำให้ท่านหลงผิด จงควักออกและโยนมันทิ้งเสียจากท่าน ซึ่งท่านจะเข้าสู่ชีวิตด้วยตาข้างเดียวยังดีกว่ามีสองตาและต้องถูกทิ้งไปในไฟนรก

⁹ If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna or, Hell of fire.

¹⁰จงระวังให้ดี อย่าดูหมิ่นผู้เล็กน้อยเหล่านี้สักคนหนึ่ง ด้วยเรากล่าวแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า บนสวรรค์ทูตสวรรค์ประจำของเขาเฝ้าอยู่เสมอต่อพระพักตร์พระบิดาของเราผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์

¹⁰ See that you don’t despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

¹¹เพราะว่าบุตรมนุษย์ได้เสด็จมาเพื่อช่วยผู้ซึ่งหลงหายไปนั้นให้รอด

¹¹ For the Son of Man came to save that which was lost.

¹²ท่านทั้งหลายคิดเห็นอย่างไร ถ้าผู้หนึ่งมีแกะอยู่ร้อยตัว และตัวหนึ่งหลงหายไปจากฝูง ผู้นั้นจะไม่ละแกะเก้าสิบเก้าตัวไว้แล้วขึ้นไปบนภูเขาเที่ยวหาตัวที่หายนั้นหรือ

¹² “What do you think? If a man has one hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine, go to the mountains, and seek that which has gone astray?

¹³เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่า ถ้าผู้นั้นพบแกะตัวที่หาย เขาจะชื่นชมยินดียิ่งกว่าที่มีแกะเก้าสิบเก้าตัวที่มิได้หลงหายนั้น

¹³ If he finds it, most certainly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray.

¹⁴อย่างนั้นแหละ พระบิดาของท่านผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์ ไม่ทรงปรารถนาให้ผู้เล็กน้อยเหล่านี้สักคนหนึ่งพินาศไปเลย

¹⁴ Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

¹⁵หากว่าพี่น้องของท่านผู้หนึ่งทำการละเมิดต่อท่าน จงไปแจ้งความผิดบาปนั้นแก่เขาสองต่อสองเท่านั้น ถ้าเขาฟังท่าน ท่านจะได้พี่น้องคืนมา

¹⁵ “If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother.

¹⁶แต่ถ้าเขาไม่ฟังท่าน จงนำคนหนึ่งหรือสองคนไปด้วย ให้เป็นพยานสองสามปาก เพื่อทุกคำจะเป็นหลักฐานได้

¹⁶ But if he doesn’t listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. Deuteronomy 19:15

¹⁷ถ้าเขาไม่ฟังคนเหล่านั้น จงไปแจ้งความต่อคริสตจักร ถ้าเขายังไม่ฟังคริสตจักรอีกก็ให้ถือเสียว่า เขาเป็นเหมือนคนต่างชาติและคนเก็บภาษี

¹⁷ If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector.

¹⁸เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า สิ่งสารพัดซึ่งท่านจะผูกมัดในโลก ก็จะถูกผูกมัดในสวรรค์ และสิ่งซึ่งท่านจะปล่อยในโลกก็จะถูกปล่อยในสวรรค์

¹⁸ Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you release on earth will have been released in heaven.

¹⁹เรากล่าวแก่ท่านทั้งหลายอีกว่า ถ้าในพวกท่านที่อยู่ในโลกสองคนจะร่วมใจกันขอสิ่งหนึ่งสิ่งใด พระบิดาของเราผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์ก็จะทรงกระทำให้

¹⁹ Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.

²⁰ด้วยว่ามีสองสามคนประชุมกันที่ไหนๆในนามของเรา เราจะอยู่ท่ามกลางเขาที่นั่น"

²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst.”

²¹ขณะนั้นเปโตรมาทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า หากพี่น้องของข้าพระองค์จะกระทำผิดต่อข้าพระองค์เรื่อยไป ข้าพระองค์ควรจะยกความผิดของเขาสักกี่ครั้ง ถึงเจ็ดครั้งหรือ"

²¹Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?”

²²พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "เรามิได้ว่าเพียงเจ็ดครั้งเท่านั้น แต่เจ็ดครั้งคูณด้วยเจ็ดสิบ

²²Jesus said to him, “I don’t tell you until seven times, but, until seventy times seven.

²³เหตุฉะนั้น อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนกษัตริย์องค์หนึ่งทรงประสงค์จะคิดบัญชีกับผู้รับใช้ของท่าน

²³ Therefore the Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who wanted to reconcile accounts with his servants.

²⁴เมื่อตั้งต้นทำการนั้น เขาพาคนหนึ่งซึ่งเป็นหนี้หนึ่งหมื่นตะลันต์มาเฝ้า

²⁴ When he had begun to reconcile, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. Ten thousand talents represents an extremely large sum of money, equivalent to about 60,000,000 denarii, where one denarius was typical of one day’s wages for agricultural labor.

²⁵เจ้านายของเขาจึงสั่งให้ขายตัวกับทั้งภรรยาและลูก และบรรดาสิ่งของที่เขามีอยู่นั้นเอามาใช้หนี้ เพราะเขาไม่มีเงินจะใช้หนี้

²⁵ But because he couldn’t pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, with his wife, his children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

²⁶ผู้รับใช้ลูกหนี้ผู้นั้นจึงกราบลงนมัสการท่านว่า `ข้าแต่ท่าน ขอโปรดผัดไว้ก่อน แล้วข้าพเจ้าจะใช้หนี้ทั้งสิ้น'

²⁶ The servant therefore fell down and kneeled before him, saying, ‘Lord, have patience with me, and I will repay you all!’

²⁷เจ้านายของผู้รับใช้ผู้นั้นมีพระทัยเมตตา โปรดยกหนี้ปล่อยตัวเขาไป

²⁷ The lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.

²⁸แต่ผู้รับใช้ผู้นั้นออกไปพบคนหนึ่งเป็นเพื่อนผู้รับใช้ด้วยกัน ซึ่งเป็นหนี้เขาอยู่หนึ่งร้อยเดนาริอัน จึงจับคนนั้นบีบคอว่า `จงใช้หนี้ให้ข้า'

²⁸ “But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him one hundred denarii, 100 denarii was about one sixtieth of a talent. and he grabbed him, and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’

²⁹เพื่อนผู้รับใช้ผู้นั้นได้กราบลงแทบเท้าอ้อนวอนว่า `ขอโปรดผัดไว้ก่อน แล้วข้าพเจ้าจะใช้หนี้ทั้งสิ้น'

²⁹ “So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will repay you!’

³⁰แต่เขาไม่ยอม จึงนำผู้รับใช้ลูกหนี้นั้นไปจำจองไว้ จนกว่าจะใช้เงินนั้น

³⁰ He would not, but went and cast him into prison, until he should pay back that which was due.

³¹ฝ่ายพวกเพื่อนผู้รับใช้เมื่อเห็นเหตุการณ์เช่นนั้น ก็พากันสลดใจยิ่งนัก จึงนำเหตุการณ์ทั้งปวงไปกราบทูลเจ้านายของพวกตน

³¹ So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were exceedingly sorry, and came and told to their lord all that was done.

³²แล้วเจ้านายของเขาจึงทรงเรียกผู้รับใช้นั้นมาสั่งว่า `โอ เจ้าผู้รับใช้ชั่ว เราได้โปรดยกหนี้ให้เจ้าหมด เพราะเจ้าได้อ้อนวอนเรา

³² Then his lord called him in, and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt, because you begged me.

³³เจ้าควรจะเมตตาเพื่อนผู้รับใช้ด้วยกัน เหมือนเราได้เมตตาเจ้ามิใช่หรือ'

³³ Shouldn’t you also have had mercy on your fellow servant, even as I had mercy on you?’

³⁴แล้วเจ้านายของเขาก็กริ้วจึงมอบผู้นั้นไว้แก่เจ้าหน้าที่ให้ทรมาน จนกว่าจะใช้หนี้หมด

³⁴ His lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors, until he should pay all that was due to him.

³⁵พระบิดาของเราผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์จะทรงกระทำแก่ท่านทุกคนอย่างนั้น ถ้าหากว่าท่านแต่ละคนไม่ยกโทษการละเมิดให้แก่พี่น้องของท่านด้วยใจกว้างขวาง"

³⁵ So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you don’t each forgive your brother from your hearts for his misdeeds.”
