¹"ด้วยว่าอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนเจ้าของสวนคนหนึ่งออกไปจ้างคนทำงานในสวนองุ่นของตนแต่เวลาเช้าตรู่

¹ “For the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who was the master of a household, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.

²ครั้นตกลงกับลูกจ้างวันละเดนาริอันแล้ว จึงใช้ให้ไปทำงานในสวนองุ่นของเขา

² When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius A denarius is a silver Roman coin worth 1/25th of a Roman aureus. This was a common wage for a day of farm labor. a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

³พอเวลาประมาณสามโมงเช้า เจ้าของสวนก็ออกไปอีก เห็นคนอื่นยืนอยู่เปล่าๆกลางตลาด

³ He went out about the third hour, Time was measured from sunrise to sunset, so the third hour would be about 9:00 AM. and saw others standing idle in the marketplace.

⁴จึงพูดกับเขาว่า `ท่านทั้งหลายจงไปทำงานในสวนองุ่นด้วยเถิด เราจะให้ค่าจ้างแก่พวกท่านตามสมควร' แล้วเขาก็พากันไป

⁴ To them he said, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went their way.

⁵พอเวลาเที่ยงวันและเวลาบ่ายสามโมง เจ้าของสวนก็ออกไปอีก ทำเหมือนก่อน

⁵ Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, noon and 3:00 P. M. and did likewise.

⁶ประมาณบ่ายห้าโมงก็ออกไปอีกครั้งหนึ่ง พบอีกพวกหนึ่งยืนอยู่เปล่าๆจึงพูดกับเขาว่า `พวกท่านยืนอยู่ที่นี่เปล่าๆวันยังค่ำทำไม'

⁶ About the eleventh hour 5:00 PM he went out, and found others standing idle. He said to them, ‘Why do you stand here all day idle?’

⁷พวกเขาตอบเจ้าของสวนว่า `เพราะไม่มีใครจ้างพวกข้าพเจ้า' เจ้าของสวนบอกพวกเขาว่า `ท่านทั้งหลายจงไปทำงานในสวนองุ่นด้วยเถิด และท่านจะได้รับค่าจ้างที่สมควร'

⁷ “They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ “He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and you will receive whatever is right.’

⁸ครั้นถึงเวลาพลบค่ำเจ้าของสวนจึงสั่งเจ้าพนักงานว่า `จงเรียกคนทำงานมาและให้ค่าจ้างแก่เขา ตั้งแต่คนมาทำงานสุดท้าย จนถึงคนที่มาแรก'

⁸ When evening had come, the lord of the vineyard said to his manager, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.’

⁹คนที่มาทำงานเวลาประมาณบ่ายห้าโมงนั้น ได้ค่าจ้างคนละหนึ่งเดนาริอัน

⁹ “When those who were hired at about the eleventh hour came, they each received a denarius.

¹⁰ส่วนคนที่มาทีแรกนึกว่าเขาคงจะได้มากกว่านั้น แต่ก็ได้คนละหนึ่งเดนาริอันเหมือนกัน

¹⁰ When the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise each received a denarius.

¹¹เมื่อเขารับเงินไปแล้วก็บ่นต่อว่าเจ้าของสวน

¹¹ When they received it, they murmured against the master of the household,

¹²ว่า `พวกที่มาสุดท้ายได้ทำงานชั่วโมงเดียว และท่านได้ให้ค่าจ้างแก่เขาเท่ากันกับพวกเราที่ทำงานตรากตรำกลางแดดตลอดวัน'

¹² saying, ‘These last have spent one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat!’

¹³ฝ่ายเจ้าของสวนก็ตอบแก่คนหนึ่งในพวกนั้นว่า `สหายเอ๋ย เรามิได้โกงท่านเลย ท่านได้ตกลงกับเราแล้ววันละหนึ่งเดนาริอันมิใช่หรือ

¹³ “But he answered one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me for a denarius?

¹⁴รับค่าจ้างของท่านไปเถิด เราพอใจจะให้คนที่มาทำงานหลังที่สุดนั้นเท่ากันกับท่าน

¹⁴ Take that which is yours, and go your way. It is my desire to give to this last just as much as to you.

¹⁵เราจะปรารถนาจะทำอะไรกับสิ่งที่เป็นของเราเองนั้นไม่ถูกต้องตามพระราชบัญญัติหรือ ทำไมท่านอิจฉาเมื่อเห็นเราใจดี'

¹⁵ Isn’t it lawful for me to do what I want to with what I own? Or is your eye evil, because I am good?’

¹⁶อย่างนั้นแหละคนที่เป็นคนสุดท้ายจะกลับเป็นคนต้น และคนที่เป็นคนต้นจะกลับเป็นคนสุดท้าย ด้วยว่าผู้รับเชิญก็มาก แต่ผู้ที่ทรงเลือกก็น้อย"

¹⁶ So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen.”

¹⁷เมื่อพระเยซูจะเสด็จขึ้นไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ขณะอยู่ตามหนทางได้พาเหล่าสาวกสิบสองคนไปแต่ลำพัง และตรัสกับเขาว่า

¹⁷As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside, and on the way he said to them,

¹⁸"ดูเถิด เราทั้งหลายจะขึ้นไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และเขาจะทรยศบุตรมนุษย์ไว้กับพวกปุโรหิตใหญ่และพวกธรรมาจารย์ และเขาเหล่านั้นจะปรับโทษท่านถึงตาย

¹⁸ “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death,

¹⁹และจะมอบท่านไว้กับคนต่างชาติให้เยาะเย้ยเฆี่ยนตี และให้ตรึงไว้ที่กางเขน และวันที่สามท่านจึงจะกลับฟื้นขึ้นมาใหม่"

¹⁹ and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up.”

²⁰ขณะนั้นมารดาของบุตรแห่งเศเบดีพาบุตรชายทั้งสองมาเฝ้าพระองค์ นมัสการทูลขอสิ่งหนึ่งจากพระองค์

²⁰Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him.

²¹พระองค์จึงทรงถามนางนั้นว่า "ท่านปรารถนาอะไร" นางทูลพระองค์ว่า "ขอทรงโปรดอนุญาตให้บุตรชายของข้าพระองค์สองคนนี้นั่งในราชอาณาจักรของพระองค์ เบื้องขวาพระหัตถ์คนหนึ่ง เบื้องซ้ายคนหนึ่ง"

²¹He said to her, “What do you want?” She said to him, “Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on your right hand, and one on your left hand, in your Kingdom.”

²²แต่พระเยซูตรัสตอบว่า "ที่ท่านขอนั้นท่านไม่เข้าใจ ถ้วยซึ่งเราจะดื่มนั้นท่านจะดื่มได้หรือ และบัพติศมานั้นซึ่งเราจะรับ ท่านจะรับได้หรือ" เขาทูลพระองค์ว่า "พวกข้าพระองค์ทำได้"

²²But Jesus answered, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to him, “We are able.”

²³พระองค์ตรัสกับเขาว่า "ท่านจะดื่มจากถ้วยของเรา และรับบัพติศมาด้วยบัพติศมาที่เราจะรับก็จริง แต่ซึ่งจะนั่งข้างขวาและข้างซ้ายของเรานั้น ไม่ใช่พนักงานของเราที่จะมอบให้ แต่พระบิดาของเราได้ทรงเตรียมไว้สำหรับผู้ใด ก็จะให้แก่ผู้นั้น"

²³He said to them, “You will indeed drink my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with, but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it is for whom it has been prepared by my Father.”

²⁴เมื่อสาวกสิบคนนั้นได้ยินแล้ว พวกเขาก็มีความขุ่นเคืองพี่น้องสองคนนั้น

²⁴When the ten heard it, they were indignant with the two brothers.

²⁵พระเยซูทรงเรียกเขาทั้งหลายมาตรัสว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายรู้อยู่ว่า ผู้ครองของคนต่างชาติย่อมเป็นเจ้าเหนือเขา และผู้ใหญ่ทั้งหลายก็ใช้อำนาจบังคับ

²⁵But Jesus summoned them, and said, “You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.

²⁶แต่ในพวกท่านหาเป็นอย่างนั้นไม่ ถ้าผู้ใดใคร่จะได้เป็นใหญ่ในพวกท่าน ผู้นั้นจะต้องเป็นผู้ปรนนิบัติท่านทั้งหลาย

²⁶ It shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be TR reads “let him be” instead of “shall be” your servant.

²⁷ถ้าผู้ใดใคร่จะได้เป็นเอกเป็นต้นในพวกท่าน ผู้นั้นจะต้องเป็นผู้รับใช้ของพวกท่าน

²⁷ Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant,

²⁸อย่างที่บุตรมนุษย์มิได้มาเพื่อรับการปรนนิบัติ แต่มาเพื่อจะปรนนิบัติเขา และประทานชีวิตของท่านให้เป็นค่าไถ่คนเป็นอันมาก"

²⁸ even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

²⁹เมื่อพระองค์กับเหล่าสาวกออกไปจากเมืองเยรีโค ฝูงชนเป็นอันมากก็ตามพระองค์ไป

²⁹As they went out from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.

³⁰และดูเถิด มีชายตาบอดสองคนนั่งอยู่ริมหนทาง เมื่อเขาได้ยินว่าพระเยซูเสด็จผ่านมา จึงร้องว่า "โอ พระองค์ผู้เป็นบุตรดาวิดเจ้าข้า ขอทรงพระเมตตาข้าพระองค์เถิด"

³⁰Behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!”

³¹ฝ่ายประชาชนก็ห้ามเขาให้นิ่งเสีย แต่เขายิ่งร้องขึ้นอีกว่า "โอ พระองค์ผู้เป็นบุตรดาวิดเจ้าข้า ขอทรงพระเมตตาข้าพระองค์เถิด"

³¹The multitude rebuked them, telling them that they should be quiet, but they cried out even more, “Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!”

³²พระเยซูจึงหยุดประทับยืนอยู่ เรียกเขามา และตรัสว่า "ท่านทั้งสองจะใคร่ให้เราทำอะไรเพื่อท่าน"

³²Jesus stood still, and called them, and asked, “What do you want me to do for you?”

³³พวกเขาทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ขอให้ตาของข้าพระองค์หายบอด"

³³They told him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.”

³⁴พระเยซูจึงมีพระทัยเมตตา ก็ทรงถูกต้องตาเขา ในทันใดนั้นตาของเขาก็เห็นได้และเขาทั้งสองได้ติดตามพระองค์ไป

³⁴Jesus, being moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received their sight, and they followed him.
