¹บุตรชายของเราเอ๋ย ถ้าเจ้ารับคำของเรา และสะสมคำบัญชาของเราไว้กับเจ้า

¹My son, if you will receive my words, and store up my commandments within you;

²กระทำหูของเจ้าให้ผึ่งเพื่อรับปัญญา และเอียงใจของเจ้าเข้าหาความเข้าใจ

²So as to turn your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding;

³เออ ถ้าเจ้าร้องหาความรอบรู้ และเปล่งเสียงของเจ้าหาความเข้าใจ

³Yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding;

⁴ถ้าเจ้าแสวงปัญญาดุจหาเงิน และเสาะหาปัญญาอย่างหาขุมทรัพย์ที่ซ่อนไว้

⁴If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures:

⁵นั่นแหละ เจ้าจะเข้าใจความยำเกรงพระเยโฮวาห์ และพบความรู้ของพระเจ้า

⁵then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” .

⁶เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงประทานปัญญา ความรู้และความเข้าใจมาจากพระโอษฐ์ของพระองค์

⁶For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

⁷พระองค์ทรงสะสมสติปัญญาไว้ให้คนชอบธรรม พระองค์ทรงเป็นดั้งให้แก่ผู้ที่ดำเนินในความเที่ยงธรรม

⁷He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity;

⁸พระองค์ทรงรักษาระวังวิถีของความยุติธรรม และทรงสงวนทางของวิสุทธิชนของพระองค์ไว้

⁸that he may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of his saints.

⁹แล้วเจ้าจะเข้าใจความชอบธรรมและความยุติธรรม และความเที่ยงตรง คือวิถีที่ดีทุกสาย

⁹Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path.

¹⁰เมื่อปัญญาจะเข้ามาในใจของเจ้า และความรู้จะเป็นที่ร่มรื่นแก่จิตใจของเจ้า

¹⁰For wisdom will enter into your heart. Knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.

¹¹ความเฉลียวฉลาดจะคอยเฝ้าเจ้า และความเข้าใจจะระแวดระวังเจ้าไว้

¹¹Discretion will watch over you. Understanding will keep you,

¹²เพื่อช่วยเจ้าให้พ้นจากทางแห่งคนชั่วร้าย จากคนที่พูดตลบตะแลง

¹²to deliver you from the way of evil, from the men who speak perverse things;

¹³ผู้ทอดทิ้งวิถีแห่งความเที่ยงธรรม เพื่อเดินในทางแห่งความมืด

¹³who forsake the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

¹⁴ผู้เปรมปรีดิ์ในการกระทำความชั่วร้าย และปีติยินดีในการตลบตะแลงของคนชั่ว

¹⁴who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perverseness of evil;

¹⁵ผู้ซึ่งวิถีชีวิตของเขาล้วนแต่คดเคี้ยวทั้งสิ้น และทางประพฤติของเขาตลบตะแลง

¹⁵who are crooked in their ways, and wayward in their paths:

¹⁶เพื่อช่วยเจ้าให้พ้นจากหญิงชั่ว จากหญิงสัญจรที่พูดจาพะเน้าพะนอ

¹⁶To deliver you from the strange woman, even from the foreigner who flatters with her words;

¹⁷ผู้ทอดทิ้งคู่เคียงที่นางได้มาเมื่อยังสาวๆนั้นเสีย และลืมพันธสัญญาแห่งพระเจ้าของตน

¹⁷who forsakes the friend of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God:

¹⁸เพราะเรือนของนางจมลงไปสู่ความมรณา และวิถีของนางไปสู่ชาวเมืองผี

¹⁸for her house leads down to death, her paths to the dead.

¹⁹ผู้ที่ไปหานางไม่มีกลับมาสักคนเดียว หรือหามีผู้ใดหันเข้าทางแห่งชีวิตอีกได้ไม่

¹⁹None who go to her return again, neither do they attain to the paths of life:

²⁰ดังนั้น เจ้าควรจะดำเนินในทางของคนดี และรักษาวิถีของคนชอบธรรม

²⁰that you may walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

²¹เพราะว่าคนที่เที่ยงธรรมจะได้อยู่ในแผ่นดิน และคนดีรอบคอบจะคงอยู่ในนั้น

²¹For the upright will dwell in the land. The perfect will remain in it.

²²แต่คนชั่วร้ายจะถูกตัดขาดเสียจากแผ่นดินโลก และคนละเมิดจะถูกถอนรากออกไปจากแผ่นดินโลกเสีย

²²But the wicked will be cut off from the land. The treacherous will be rooted out of it.
