1My son, pay attention to my wisdom. Turn your ear to my understanding:
2เพื่อเจ้าจะรักษาความเฉลียวฉลาดไว้ และริมฝีปากของเจ้าจะระแวดระวังความรู้
2that you may maintain discretion, that your lips may preserve knowledge.
3เพราะริมฝีปากของหญิงชั่วนั้นก็หยาดน้ำผึ้งออกมา และปากของนางก็ลื่นยิ่งกว่าน้ำมัน
3For the lips of an adulteress drip honey. Her mouth is smoother than oil,
4แต่ในที่สุด นางขมขื่นอย่างบอระเพ็ด และคมอย่างดาบสองคม
4But in the end she is as bitter as wormwood, and as sharp as a two-edged sword.
5เท้าของนางก้าวลงไปสู่ความตาย ย่างเท้าของนางติดตามวิถีสู่นรก
5Her feet go down to death. Her steps lead straight to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. .

7Now therefore, my sons, listen to me. Don’t depart from the words of my mouth.
8จงหลีกทางของเจ้าให้ไกลจากนาง อย่าไปใกล้ประตูเรือนของนาง
8Remove your way far from her. Don’t come near the door of her house,
9เกรงว่าเจ้าจะให้เกียรติของเจ้าแก่คนอื่น และให้ปีเดือนของเจ้าแก่คนโหดร้าย
9lest you give your honor to others, and your years to the cruel one;
10เกรงว่าแขกแปลกหน้าจะกินความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของเจ้าจนอิ่ม และแรงงานของเจ้าตกไปในเรือนของคนต่างด้าว
10lest strangers feast on your wealth, and your labors enrich another man’s house.
11และถึงบั้นปลายชีวิตของเจ้า เจ้าครวญคราง เมื่อเนื้อและกายของเจ้าถูกล้างผลาญ
11You will groan at your latter end, when your flesh and your body are consumed,

12and say, “How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
13ข้าไม่เคยเชื่อฟังเสียงครูของข้า หรือเอียงหูให้แก่ผู้สั่งสอนของข้า
13neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor turned my ear to those who instructed me!
14ข้าจวนจะล้มละลายสู่ความพินาศอยู่รอมร่อ ในหมู่ชุมนุมชนและคนที่ประชุมกันอยู่นั้น"
14I have come to the brink of utter ruin, in the midst of the gathered assembly.”
15จงดื่มน้ำจากถังเก็บน้ำของเจ้า ดื่มน้ำไหลจากบ่อของเจ้าเอง
15Drink water out of your own cistern, running water out of your own well.
16จงให้น้ำพุของเจ้าไหลเพรื่อออกไปนอกบ้าน และให้ธารน้ำนั้นไหลไปตามถนน
16Should your springs overflow in the streets, streams of water in the public squares?
17จงให้มันเป็นของเจ้าแต่ผู้เดียว และมิใช่สำหรับคนแปลกหน้าด้วย
17Let them be for yourself alone, not for strangers with you.
18จงให้น้ำพุของเจ้าได้รับพร และเปรมปรีดิ์อยู่กับภรรยาคนที่เจ้าได้เมื่อหนุ่มนั้น
18Let your spring be blessed. Rejoice in the wife of your youth.
19จงให้นางเหมือนนางกวางที่น่ารัก เลียงผาที่งามสง่า จงให้ถันของภรรยาเจ้าเป็นที่หนำใจเจ้าอยู่ทุกเวลา จงดื่มด่ำอยู่กับความรักของนางเสมอ
19A loving doe and a graceful deer— let her breasts satisfy you at all times. Be captivated always with her love.
20บุตรชายของเราเอ๋ย เจ้าจะเคลิบเคลิ้มอยู่กับหญิงชั่วทำไมเล่า และโอบกอดอกของนางสัญจรอยู่ทำไม
20For why should you, my son, be captivated with an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another?
21เพราะว่าทางของคนก็เบื้องหน้าพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์ และพระองค์ทรงใคร่ครวญวิถีทั้งสิ้นของเขา
21For the ways of man are before the eyes of Yahweh. He examines all his paths.
22ความชั่วช้าของคนชั่วร้ายจะดักเขาเอง และเขาก็จะติดอยู่กับตาข่ายบาปของเขา
22The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare him. The cords of his sin hold him firmly.
23เขาจะตายปราศจากคำสั่งสอน และเพราะความโง่อย่างยิ่งของเขา เขาจึงจะหลงเจิ่นไป
23He will die for lack of instruction. In the greatness of his folly, he will go astray.
