1ปัญญามิได้ร้องเรียกหรือ ความเข้าใจมิได้เปล่งเสียงของเธอหรือ
1Doesn’t wisdom cry out? Doesn’t understanding raise her voice?
2ณ ที่สูงที่ข้างทาง ที่กลางถนนเธอก็ยืนอยู่
2On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands.
3ข้างประตู หน้าเมือง ที่ทางเข้ามุข เธอก็ร้องเสียงดังว่า
3Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud:
4"โอ บรรดาผู้ชายเอ๋ย เราเรียกเจ้า และเสียงเรียกของเราไปถึงบุตรชายของมนุษย์
4“To you men, I call! I send my voice to the sons of mankind.
5โอ คนเขลา จงเข้าใจสติปัญญา โอ คนโง่ จงมีใจที่เข้าใจ
5You simple, understand prudence. You fools, be of an understanding heart.
6ฟังซี เพราะเราจะพูดถึงสิ่งยอดเยี่ยม เพราะสิ่งที่ชอบจะมาจากริมฝีปากของเรา
6Hear, for I will speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for right things.
7เพราะปากของเราจะกล่าวความจริง ความชั่วร้ายเป็นสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนต่อริมฝีปากของเรา
7For my mouth speaks truth. Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8บรรดาคำปากของเรานั้นชอบธรรม ในนั้นไม่มีคำบิดหรือคำคด
8All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.
9คำเหล่านั้นสำหรับผู้ที่เข้าใจก็ตรงหมด สำหรับผู้พบความรู้ก็ถูกต้อง
9They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.
10จงรับคำสั่งสอนของเราแทนเงิน และความรู้แทนทองคำอย่างดี
10Receive my instruction rather than silver; knowledge rather than choice gold.
11เพราะปัญญาดีกว่าทับทิม และสิ่งที่เจ้าปรารถนาทั้งหมดจะเปรียบเทียบกับปัญญาไม่ได้
11For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.
12เราคือปัญญา อยู่ในความหยั่งรู้ และเราพบความรู้แห่งความเฉลียวฉลาด
12“I, wisdom, have made prudence my dwelling. Find out knowledge and discretion.
13ความยำเกรงพระเยโฮวาห์เป็นความเกลียดชังความชั่วร้าย เราเกลียดความเย่อหยิ่งและความจองหอง และทางของความชั่วร้ายกับปากตลบตะแลง
13The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.
14เรามีคำหารือและสติปัญญา เรามีความเข้าใจ เรามีกำลัง
14Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power.
15โดยเรานี่แหละกษัตริย์จึงปกครอง และผู้ครอบครองจึงตรากฎหมายที่ยุติธรรม
15By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16โดยเรานี่แหละเจ้านายและขุนนางได้ครอบครอง คือบรรดาผู้พิพากษาของแผ่นดินโลก
16By me princes rule; nobles, and all the righteous rulers of the earth.
17เรารักบรรดาผู้ที่รักเรา และบรรดาผู้ที่แสวงเราอย่างขยันขันแข็งก็พบเรา
17I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.
18ความมั่งคั่งและเกียรติอยู่กับเรา เออ ทั้งทรัพย์ศฤงคารที่ทนทานและความชอบธรรม
18With me are riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.
19ผลของเราดีกว่าทองคำ แม้ทองคำเนื้อดี และผลได้ของเราดีกว่าเงินเนื้อบริสุทธิ์
19My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold; my yield than choice silver.
20เรานำในทางแห่งความชอบธรรม ในวิถีทั้งหลายของความยุติธรรม
20I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice;
21ประสาททรัพย์ศฤงคารแก่บรรดาผู้ที่รักเรา บรรจุคลังทรัพย์ทั้งหลายของเขาให้เต็ม
21That I may give wealth to those who love me. I fill their treasuries.
22พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเป็นเจ้าของเราในเมื่อพระองค์ทรงเริ่มงานของพระองค์ ก่อนบรรดาพระราชกิจโบราณของพระองค์
22“Yahweh possessed me in the beginning of his work, before his deeds of old.
23เราถูกสถาปนาไว้ตั้งแต่ดึกดำบรรพ์มาแล้ว ตั้งแต่แรก ก่อนปฐมกาลของแผ่นดินโลก
23I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth existed.
24เราถือกำเนิดมาเมื่อก่อนมีมหาสมุทร เมื่อไม่มีน้ำพุที่มีน้ำมากมาย
24When there were no depths, I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water.
25ก่อนการเนรมิตสร้างภูเขา ก่อนเนินเขา เราก็ถือกำเนิดมาแล้ว
25Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was brought forth;
26ก่อนที่พระองค์ทรงสร้างแผ่นดินโลก ทั้งไร่นา หรือก่อนผงคลีแรกของพิภพ
26while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
27เมื่อพระองค์ทรงสถาปนาฟ้าสวรรค์ เราอยู่ที่นั่นแล้ว เมื่อพระองค์ทรงลากเส้นรอบวงบนพื้นมหาสมุทร
27When he established the heavens, I was there; when he set a circle on the surface of the deep,
28เมื่อพระองค์ทรงสถาปนาฟ้าเบื้องบน เมื่อพระองค์ทรงกระทำน้ำพุของน้ำบาดาลให้มั่นไว้
28when he established the clouds above, when the springs of the deep became strong,
29เมื่อพระองค์ทรงกำหนดเขตจำกัดให้แก่ทะเล เพื่อว่าน้ำจะไม่ละเมิดพระบัญชาของพระองค์ เมื่อพระองค์ทรงปักผังรากฐานของพิภพ
29when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth;
30เราอยู่ข้างพระองค์แล้ว เหมือนผู้ที่พระองค์ทรงเลี้ยงดู เราเป็นความปีติยินดีประจำวันของพระองค์ เปรมปรีดิ์อยู่ต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์เสมอ
30then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him,
31เปรมปรีดิ์ในพิภพที่มีคนอาศัยของพระองค์ และปีติยินดีในบุตรทั้งหลายของมนุษย์
31Rejoicing in his whole world. My delight was with the sons of men.
32บุตรทั้งหลายเอ๋ย บัดนี้จงฟังเรา บรรดาผู้ที่รักษาทางของเราก็อยู่สุขสงบ
32“Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways.
33จงฟังคำสั่งสอน และจงฉลาด และอย่าเพิกเฉยเสีย
33Hear instruction, and be wise. Don’t refuse it.
34ผู้ใดที่ฟังเราก็เป็นสุข คือเฝ้าอยู่ที่ประตูรั้วของเราทุกวัน และคอยอยู่ข้างประตูบ้านของเรา
34Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts.
35เพราะผู้ใดที่พบเราก็พบชีวิต และได้รับความพอพระทัยจากพระเยโฮวาห์
35For whoever finds me, finds life, and will obtain favor from Yahweh.
36แต่ผู้ที่พลาดขาดเราก็กระทำจิตใจตัวเองให้เจ็บ บรรดาผู้ที่เกลียดชังเราก็รักความมรณา"
36But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death.”
