Uma: New Testament

Darby's Translation

1 Corinthians

14

1Jadi' ompi' -ompi', to kana tapopori'ulu mpu'u, mpoka'ahi' -ta doo. Pai' oti toe, kana tahuduwukui wo'o mporata pakulea' to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli'. Pai' pakulea' to meliu mpu'u kamokalaua-na, pakulea' mpohowa' lolita Alata'ala.
1Follow after love, and be emulous of spiritual [manifestations], but rather that ye may prophesy.
2Apa' tauna to mololita hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli', uma-i mpololitai hingka manusia' -na. Mpololitai Alata'ala-i-wadi. Apa' doo-na uma mpo'incai ba napa to na'uli', mololita-i ngkai petete' Inoha' Tomoroli', mpotompo'wiwi anu to uma ra'incai manusia'.
2For he that speaks with a tongue does not speak to men but to God: for no one hears; but in spirit he speaks mysteries.
3Aga tauna to mpohowa' lolita Alata'ala-di, mpololitai manusia' -i. Lolita-na mporohoi nono doo, mpo'apui nono doo, mpotanta'u doo.
3But he that prophesies speaks to men [in] edification, and encouragement, and consolation.
4Tauna to mololita hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli' mporohoi nono-na moto-wadi. Tauna to mpohowa' lolita Alata'ala mporohoi nono doo to morumpu hangkaa-ngkania.
4He that speaks with a tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesies edifies [the] assembly.
5Konoa-ku ompi', bona hawe'ea-ni ma'ala mololita hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli'. Aga meliu kalompe' -na ane mpohowa' -koi lolita Alata'ala. Apa' tauna to mpohowa' lolita Alata'ala hi doo, meliu kamokalaua-na ngkai tauna to mololita hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli'. Sampale ane ria to mpotoli basa-na toe bona rapaha doo, pai' lako' terohoi nono doo to mogampara dohe-na.
5Now I desire that ye should all speak with tongues, but rather that ye should prophesy. But greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks with tongues, unless he interpret, that the assembly may receive edification.
6Jadi' ompi' -ompi', ane rapa' -na rata-a hi pogamparaa-ni, pai' -a mololita hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli', napa-mi kalaua-na hi koi'? Tapi' ane mpakanoto-a patuju Alata'ala ba kareba ngkai Alata'ala to ko'ia ni'incai, ba mpohowa' -a lolita Alata'ala ba metudui' -a, lako' ria-di kalaua-na hi koi'.
6And now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, unless I shall speak to you either in revelation, or in knowledge, or in prophecy, or in teaching?
7Rapa' -na rewa to rapomoni, hewa lalowe ba kasapi: ane uma lompe' potuwui' -na lalowe, ba ane uma makono pokado' -na kasapi, tauna to mpo'epe uma mpo'incai lagu napa to rapomoni.
7Even lifeless things giving a sound, whether pipe or harp, if they give not distinction to the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
8Wae wo'o, ane sangkakala ratuwui' mpokio' tantara mosadia hilou hi panga'ea, tapi' ane uli' karatuwui' -na, hema-hana to sadia manga'e?
8For also, if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself for war?
9Wae wo'o hante koi' -e ompi': ane mololita-koi hante basa to uma ra'incai doo, beiwa kara'inca-na ba napa-i to ni'uli'? Koi' hewa tauna to mpololitai ngolu' -wadi.
9Thus also *ye* with the tongue, unless ye give a distinct speech, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye will be speaking to the air.
10Rala dunia' toi, hewa apa-damo kawori' nyala basa, pai' butu nyala basa, ria batua-na.
10There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of undistinguishable sound.
11Aga ane ria tauna to mpololitai-ta pai' uma ta'incai batua basa-na, tantu ta'uli' molibu' hinyai' -i-wadi. Wae wo'o ane kita' mpololitai-i, na'uli' molibu' hinyai' -ta.
11If therefore I do not know the power of the sound, I shall be to him that speaks a barbarian, and he that speaks a barbarian for me.
12Wae wo'o-hawo hante koi' -e ompi': ane mololita-koi hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli', doo-ni uma mpo'incai kalaua-na. Jadi', apa' doko' rahi-koi mporata baraka' ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli' -e, wae-pi, agina merapi' -koi hi Pue' bona nawai' -koi pakulea' mporohoi nono doo to mogampara dohe-ni.
12Thus *ye* also, since ye are desirous of spirits, seek that ye may abound for the edification of the assembly.
13Toe pai' ku'uli' -kokoi: hema to mololita hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli', agina merapi' -i hi Pue' mporata pakulea' mpotoli basa toe bona hawe'ea doo-na mpopaha batua lolita-na.
13Wherefore let him that speaks with a tongue pray that he may interpret.
14Apa' ane mosampaya-ta hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli', mosampaya moto-ta hi rala nono-ta, aga pekiri-ta uma molengo.
14For if I pray with a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15Jadi', napa to lompe' tababehi? Agina mosampaya-ta hi rala nono-ta hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli', pai' mosampaya wo'o-ta hante basa to rapaha doo. Morona' -ta mpo'une' Alata'ala hi rala nono-ta hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli', pai' morona' wo'o-ta mpo'une' Alata'ala hante basa to rapaha doo.
15What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, but I will pray also with the understanding; I will sing with the spirit, but I will sing also with the understanding.
16Ane rapa' -na mololita-ta hi rala basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli' mpo'uli' tarima kasi hi Alata'ala, pai' uma monoto batua lolita-ta hi tauna to mpo'epe, uma-ra-hawo mpai' mpo'uli' "Amin! Bate makono!" apa' uma-hawo ra'incai napa to ta'uli'.
16Since otherwise, if thou blessest with [the] spirit, how shall he who fills the place of the simple [Christian] say Amen, at thy giving of thanks, since he does not know what thou sayest?
17Nau' lompe' -mi posampaya-ta mpo'uli' tarima kasi hi Alata'ala, aga uma-hawo ria tuju-na hi doo, apa' uma terohoi nono-ra mpo'epe posampaya-ta tetu.
17For *thou* indeed givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
18Ku'uli' tarima kasi hi Alata'ala apa' mololita-a hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli' meliu ngkai koi' omea.
18I thank God I speak in a tongue more than all of you:
19Aga hi rala pogamparaa, agina lau-pi mololita-a hante basa to ra'inca doo bona rapaha lolita-ku. Agina-pi mololita hamela romela-wadi mpotudui' doo, ngkai mololita moloe hi rala basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli' to uma rapaha doo.
19but in [the] assembly I desire to speak five words with my understanding, that I may instruct others also, [rather] than ten thousand words in a tongue.
20Ompi' -ompi'! Neo' -pi mopekiri oa' hewa ana' to kedi', kana monoto nono-ni hewa tauna to kama-mi. Aga hewa ana' to kedi' ko'ia mpo'incai mpobabehi gau' to dada'a, wae wo'o kusarumaka neo' -koi mpobabehi gau' to dada'a.
20Brethren, be not children in [your] minds, but in malice be babes; but in [your] minds be grown [men].
21Hi rala Atura Pue' te'uki' hewa toi: Na'uli' Pue' Ala: Hante wiwi tauna to bela-ra to Yahudi kupololitai-ra to Yahudi. Kuhubui-ra mpai' tumai tauna ngkai ngata to molaa to mpololitai-ra hi rala basa to uma ra'incai. Aga nau' wae, bate uma oa' -ra mpai' dota mpopangala' lolita-ku."
21It is written in the law, By people of other tongues, and by strange lips, will I speak to this people; and neither thus will they hear me, saith the Lord.
22Jadi', ane ria-ta to mololita hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli', lolita-ta toe jadi' tanda kamobaraka' -na Pue' hi tauna to uma-ra mepangala' hi Pue', bela hi tauna to mepangala' -mi hi Pue'. Aga ane mpohowa' -ta lolita Alata'ala, lolita-ta toe jadi' tanda kamobaraka' -na Pue' hi tauna to mepangala' -mi, bela hi tauna to uma mepangala'.
22So that tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to unbelievers; but prophecy, not to unbelievers, but to those who believe.
23Rapa' -na morumpu-koi hangkaa-ngkania mogampara, pai' mololita omea-koi hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli'. Ane mesua' tauna to bela-ra to Kristen ba to ko'ia mpo'incai Lolita Alata'ala, napa-mi mpai' to ra'uli' -e? Tantu ra'uli' wuli-koi.
23If therefore the whole assembly come together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and simple [persons] enter in, or unbelievers, will not they say ye are mad?
24Aga ane hawe'ea-ni mpohowa' lolita Alata'ala pai' mesua' hadua tauna to bela-i to Kristen ba to ko'ia-i mpo'incai Lolita Alata'ala, kampo'epe-na napa omea to ni'uli', monoto-mi hi rala nono-na kamojeko' -na. Hewa ria hi rala nono-na to mpo'uli': "To hi aku' -mi tetu-e mai!"
24But if all prophesy, and some unbeliever or simple [person] come in, he is convicted of all, he is judged of all;
25Alaa-na hawe'ea to tewunii' hi nono-na telohu-mi. Ka'omea-na mpai', kamowingkotu' -nami mepue' hi Alata'ala, pai' na'uli': "Bate makono-di! Alata'ala ria mpu'u hi laintongo' -ni!"
25the secrets of his heart are manifested; and thus, falling upon [his] face, he will do homage to God, reporting that God is indeed amongst you.
26Jadi' ompi' -ompi', napa batua-na hawe'ea toe? Ane mogampara-koi, butu dua tauna ria bagia-na: ria to morona', ria to metudui', ria to mpoparata Lolita Alata'ala, ria to mololita hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli', ria to mpotoli batua-na to ra'uli' toe bona rapaha omea. Aga hawe'ea toe kana nibabehi bona mporohoi nono doo.
26What is it then, brethren? whenever ye come together, each [of you] has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done to edification.
27Ane ria to mololita hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli', agina rodua-wadi, neo' melabi ngkai tolu. Pai' neo' -ra mololita hinto'ua, kana momesampei. Pai' kana ria to mpotoli napa to ra'uli' topololita toera.
27If any one speak with a tongue, [let it be] two, or at the most three, and separately, and let one interpret;
28Ane uma ria to mpotoli, tauna to doko' mololita hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli' kana mengkarodo rala pogamparaa, agina rala nono-ra-wadi mpololitai Alata'ala.
28but if there be no interpreter, let him be silent in [the] assembly, and let him speak to himself and to God.
29Ane nabi to mpohowa' lolita Alata'ala, agina rodua ba tolu-ra to mololita, pai' to ntani' -na mpetonoi to ra'uli' toe, ba ngkai Alata'ala mpu'u-di ba bela-di.
29And let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.
30Ane rapa' -na lolita ngkai Alata'ala rata ncorobaa hi hadua to mohura, agina tauna to bula-na mololita mento'o-i ulu, bona doo-na rapalogai mololita.
30But if there be a revelation to another sitting [there], let the first be silent.
31Ane hewa toe-koi, ma'ala mpohowa' lolita Alata'ala omea-koi momesampei, bona hawe'ea-ni mporata tudui' pai' hawe'ea-ni te'apui nono-ni.
31For ye can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all be encouraged.
32Nabi to mpohowa' lolita Alata'ala mpokuasai woto-na moto-i: nakule' mololita pai' mento'o mololita ntuku' konoa-na.
32And spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.
33Apa' konoa Alata'ala, bona tiapa' pogampara-ta, uma napokonoi to moguriwo'. Toe-mi atura to ratuku' hi hawe'ea pogamparaa to Kristen hi butu-butu ngata.
33For God is not [a God] of disorder but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.
34Jadi', tobine-ni kana mengkalino hi pogamparaa. Uma-ra rapiliu mololita hewa tetu, kana mengkoru-ra hewa to te'uki' hi rala Atura Pue'.
34Let [your] women be silent in the assemblies, for it is not permitted to them to speak; but to be in subjection, as the law also says.
35Ane doko' -ra mpo'inca ba napa-napa, agina rapekune' hi tomane-ra hi tomi, apa' uma-hawo natao ane tobine ntora mololita hewa tetu rala pogamparaa.
35But if they wish to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is a shame for a woman to speak in assembly.
36Napa-di pai' ria-koi to uma dota mpotuku' atura-atura toe we'i? Ha ni'uli' -koina, koi' to lomo' -na mpoparata Lolita Alata'ala-e? Ba muntu' hi koi' -wadi Lolita Alata'ala raparata-e?
36Did the word of God go out from you, or did it come to you only?
37Tantu ria-ra hi retu to mpo'uli' nabi mpu'u-ra, ra'uli' ria Inoha' Tomoroli' hi hira'. Jadi', ane ria mpu'u Inoha' Tomoroli' hi hira', kana rapangaku' napa to ku'uki' hi rehe'i bate parenta ngkai Pue'.
37If any one thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognise the things that I write to you, that it is [the] Lord's commandment.
38Aga ane uma rapangalai' lolita-ku toi, neo' -ra rapangala'!
38But if any be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39Ngkai toe-mi ompi', huduwukui-koi mporata pakulea' mpohowa' lolita Alata'ala, aga neo' wo'o-ra ratagi to mololita hante basa to ngkai Inoha' Tomoroli'.
39So that, brethren, desire to prophesy, and do not forbid the speaking with tongues.
40Hawe'ea kana rababehi ntuku' ohea to natao pai' ntuku' aku-na.
40But let all things be done comelily and with order.
