¹Ma-na-se được mười hai tuổi khi người lên làm vua, và người cai trị năm mươi lăm năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.

¹Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.

²Người làm điều ác trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va, theo những sự gớm ghiếc của các dân tộc mà Ðức Giê-hô-va đã đuổi khỏi trước mặt dân Y-sơ-ra-ên.

²He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, after the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.

³Người cất lại các nơi cao mà Ê-xê-chia, cha người, đã phá dỡ, dựng lên những bàn thờ cho Ba-anh, làm các tượng A-sê-ra, thờ lạy cả cơ binh trên trời, và hầu việc chúng nó.

³For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he reared up altars for the Baals, and made Asheroth, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served them.

⁴Người xây những bàn thờ tại trong đền Ðức Giê-hô-va, là về nơi ấy mà Ðức Giê-hô-va đã phán rằng: Danh ta sẽ ngự nơi Giê-ru-sa-lem đời đời.

⁴He built altars in the house of Yahweh, of which Yahweh said, “My name shall be in Jerusalem forever.”

⁵Người cũng lập những bàn thờ cho các cơ binh trên trời, tại trong hai hành lang của đến Ðức Giê-hô-va,

⁵He built altars for all the army of the sky in the two courts of the house of Yahweh.

⁶và đưa con cái mình qua lửa, tại trong trũng con Hi-nôm; người xem bói; ếm chú, dùng pháp thuật, ham theo những kẻ cầu vong và thầy phù thủy: người làm điều ác thái quá tại trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va đặng chọc giận Ngài.

⁶He also made his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom; and he practiced sorcery, and used enchantments, and practiced sorcery, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he worked much evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger.

⁷Người đặt hình tượng chạm mà mình đã làm trong đền của Ðức Chúa Trời, là về đền ấy mà Ðức Chúa Trời có phán với Ða-vít và Sa-lô-môn, con trai người, rằng: Trong đền này và tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, thành ta đã chọn trong các chi phái Y-sơ-ra-ên, ta sẽ đặt danh ta ở đời đời;

⁷He set the engraved image of the idol, which he had made, in God’s house, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name forever:

⁸nếu Y-sơ-ra-ên gìn giữ làm theo các luật pháp, điều răn, và mạng lịnh, mà ta đã cậy Môi-se phán dạy chúng nó, thì ta sẽ chẳng cất chơn của chúng nó khỏi đất ta đã ban cho tổ phụ chúng nó.

⁸neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from off the land which I have appointed for your fathers, if only they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, even all the law and the statutes and the ordinances given by Moses.”

⁹Ma-na-se quyến dụ Giu-đa và dân sự Giê-ru-sa-lem, đến đỗi chúng làm điều ác hơn các dân tộc mà Ðức Giê-hô-va đã hủy diệt khỏi trước mặt dân Y-sơ-ra-ên.

⁹Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did more evil than the nations whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel did.

¹⁰Ðức Giê-hô-va phán bảo Ma-na-se và dân sự người; song chúng không chủ ý đến.

¹⁰Yahweh spoke to Manasseh, and to his people; but they gave no heed.

¹¹Vì cớ ấy, Ðức Giê-hô-va khiến các quan tướng đạo binh của vua A-si-ri đến hãm đánh chúng; các quan ấy bắt đóng cùm Ma-na-se, xiềng người lại, rồi dẫn về Ba-by-lôn.

¹¹Therefore Yahweh brought on them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

¹²Khi người bị hoạn nạn, bèn cầu khẩn Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của người và hạ mình xuống lắm trước mặt Ðức Chúa Trời của tổ phụ người.

¹²When he was in distress, he begged Yahweh his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.

¹³Ma-na-se cầu nguyện cùng Ngài; Ngài nhậm người, dủ nghe lời nài xin của người, dẫn người về Giê-ru-sa-lem trong nước người; khi ấy Ma-na-se nhìn biết Giê-hô-va là Ðức Chúa Trời.

¹³He prayed to him; and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Yahweh was God.

¹⁴Sau việc ấy, người xây vách ngoài thành Ða-vít, về phía tây Ghi-hôn trong trũng, đḀ¿n lối vào cửa cá, và chung quanh Ô-phên, xây nó rất cao rồi người đặt những quan tướng trong các thành bền vững xứ Giu-đa.

¹⁴Now after this he built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate; and he encircled Ophel with it, and raised it up to a very great height: and he put valiant captains in all the fortified cities of Judah.

¹⁵Người cất khỏi đền Ðức Giê-hô-va những thần ngoại bang, hình tượng, và bàn thờ mà người đã xây trên núi của đền Ðức Giê-hô-va và tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, rồi quăng nó ra ngoài thành.

¹⁵He took away the foreign gods, and the idol out of the house of Yahweh, and all the altars that he had built in the mountain of the house of Yahweh, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

¹⁶Ðoạn, người sửa sang bàn thờ của Ðức Giê-hô-va, dâng của lễ bình an và của lễ thù ân tại đó; người truyền dạy dân Giu-đa phục sự Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên.

¹⁶He built up the altar of Yahweh, and offered thereon sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving, and commanded Judah to serve Yahweh, the God of Israel.

¹⁷Dầu vậy, dân sự còn tế lễ cho Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của mình mà thôi.

¹⁷Nevertheless the people sacrificed still in the high places, but only to Yahweh their God.

¹⁸Các công việc khác của Ma-na-se, lời người cầu nguyện cùng Ðức Chúa Trời người, và các lời của đấng tiên kiến nhân danh Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên mà phán với người, đều đã chép trong sách các vua Y-sơ-ra-ên.

¹⁸Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words of the seers who spoke to him in the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel, behold, they are written among the acts of the kings of Israel.

¹⁹Bài cầu nguyện người, và làm sao Ðức Chúa Trời nhậm lời người, các tội lỗi, và gian ác người đã phạm, những chỗ người lập nơi cao, dựng lên thần A-sê-ra và tượng chạm, trước khi người chưa hạ mình xuống, kìa, thảy đều chép trong truyện Hô-xai.

¹⁹His prayer also, and how God was entreated of him, and all his sin and his trespass, and the places in which he built high places, and set up the Asherim and the engraved images, before he humbled himself: behold, they are written in the history of Hozai.

²⁰Ma-na-xe an giấc cùng tổ phụ mình, được chôn trong cung điện người; A-môn con trai người, cai trị thế cho người.

²⁰So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his place.

²¹A-môn được hai mươi hai tuổi khi người lên ngôi làm vua; người cai trị hai năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.

²¹Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.

²²Người làm điều ác tại trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va y như Ma-na-se, cha người, đã làm, cúng tế cho các tượng chạm mà Ma-na-se, cha người, đã làm, và hầu việc chúng nó.

²²He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as did Manasseh his father; and Amon sacrificed to all the engraved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them.

²³Người không hạ mình xuống trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va như Ma-na-se, cha người, đã làm; nhưng người càng thêm phạm tội.

²³He didn’t humble himself before Yahweh, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon trespassed more and more.

²⁴Các đầy tớ người mưu phản, giết người tại trong cung điện người.

²⁴His servants conspired against him, and put him to death in his own house.

²⁵Còn dân sự của xứ lại giết các kẻ đã mưu phản giết vua A-môn; rồi lập Giô-si-a, con trai người, làm vua thế cho người.

²⁵But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.
