1When he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was in the house.
1I pošto nakon nekoliko dana opet uđe u Kafarnaum, pročulo se da je u kući.
2Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them.
2I skupiše se mnogi te više nije bilo mjesta ni pred vratima. On im navješćivaše Riječ.
3Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him.
3I dođu noseći k njemu uzetoga. Nosila ga četvorica.
4When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on.
4Budući da ga zbog mnoštva nisu mogli unijeti k njemu, otkriju krov nad mjestom gdje bijaše Isus. Načinivši otvor, spuste postelju na kojoj je uzeti ležao.
5Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
5Vidjevši njihovu vjeru, kaže Isus uzetome: "Sinko! Otpuštaju ti se grijesi."
6But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
6Sjedjeli su ondje neki pismoznanci koji počeše mudrovati u sebi:
7“Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

8Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you reason these things in your hearts?
8Isus duhom odmah proniknu da tako mudruju u sebi, pa će im: "Što to mudrujete u sebi?
9 Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?’
9Ta što je lakše? Reći uzetomu: 'Otpuštaju ti se grijesi' ili reći: 'Ustani, uzmi svoju postelju i hodi?'
10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” —he said to the paralytic—
10Ali da znate: vlastan je Sin Čovječji na zemlji otpuštati grijehe!" I reče uzetomu:
11 “I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house.”
11"Tebi zapovijedam, ustani, uzmi postelju i pođi kući!"
12He arose, and immediately took up the mat, and went out in front of them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”
12I on usta, uze odmah postelju i iziđe na očigled svima. Svi su zaneseni slavili Boga govoreći: "Takvo što nikad još ne vidjesmo!"
13He went out again by the seaside. All the multitude came to him, and he taught them.
13Isus ponovno iziđe k moru. Sve je ono mnoštvo grnulo k njemu i on ih poučavaše.
14As he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax office, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he arose and followed him.
14Prolazeći ugleda Levija Alfejeva gdje sjedi u carinarnici. I kaže mu: "Pođi za mnom!" On usta i pođe za njim.
15It happened, that he was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many, and they followed him.
15Kada zatim Isus bijaše za stolom u njegovoj kući, nađoše se za stolom s njime i njegovim učenicima i mnogi carinici i grešnici. Bilo ih je uistinu mnogo. A slijedili su ga
16The scribes and the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”
16i pismoznanci farizejske sljedbe pa vidjevši da jede s grešnicima i carinicima rekoše njegovim učenicima: "Zašto jede s carinicima i grešnicima?"
17When Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
17Čuvši to, Isus im reče: "Ne treba zdravima liječnika, nego bolesnima! Ne dođoh zvati pravednike, nego grešnike."
18John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting, and they came and asked him, “Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don’t fast?”
18Ivanovi su učenici i farizeji postili. I dođu neki i kažu mu: "Zašto učenici Ivanovi i učenici farizejski poste, a tvoji učenici ne poste?"
19Jesus said to them, “Can the groomsmen fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they can’t fast.
19Nato im Isus reče: "Mogu li svatovi postiti dok je zaručnik s njima? Dokle god imaju zaručnika sa sobom, ne mogu postiti.
20 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then will they fast in that day.
20Doći će već dani kad će im se ugrabiti zaručnik i tada će postiti u onaj dan!"
21 No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, or else the patch shrinks and the new tears away from the old, and a worse hole is made.
21"Nitko ne prišiva krpe od sirova sukna na staro odijelo. Inače nova zakrpa vuče sa starog odijela pa nastane još veća rupa."
22 No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine pours out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins.”
22"I nitko ne ulijeva novo vino u stare mješine. Inače će vino poderati mješine pa propade i vino i mješine. Nego - novo vino u nove mješine!"
23It happened that he was going on the Sabbath day through the grain fields, and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain.
23Jedne je subote prolazio kroz usjeve. Njegovi učenici počeše putem trgati klasje. A farizeji mu rekoše:
24The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the Sabbath day?”
24"Gle! Zašto čine što subotom nije dopušteno?"
25He said to them, “Did you never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry—he, and those who were with him?
25Isus im odgovori: "Zar nikad niste čitali što učini David kad ogladnje te se nađe u potrebi on i njegovi pratioci?
26 How he entered into God’s house when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the show bread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and gave also to those who were with him?”
26Kako za velikog svećenika Ebjatara uđe u Dom Božji i pojede prinesene kruhove kojih ne smije jesti nitko osim svećenika; a on dade i svojim pratiocima?"
27He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
27I govoraše im: "Subota je stvorena radi čovjeka, a ne čovjek radi subote.
28 Therefore the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”
28Tako, Sin Čovječji gospodar je subote!"
