¹Praise Yahweh! Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

¹Aleluja! Hvalite Jahvu jer je dobar, jer je vječna ljubav njegova!

²Who can utter the mighty acts of Yahweh, or fully declare all his praise?

²Tko će izreć' djela moći Jahvine, tko li mu iskazat' sve pohvale?

³Blessed are those who keep justice. Blessed is one who does what is right at all times.

³Blaženi što drže naredbe njegove i čine pravo u svako doba!

⁴Remember me, Yahweh, with the favor that you show to your people. Visit me with your salvation,

⁴Sjeti me se, Jahve, po dobroti prema svome puku, pohodi me spasenjem svojim

⁵that I may see the prosperity of your chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.

⁵da uživam sreću izabranih tvojih, da se radujem radosti naroda tvoga, da tvojom se baštinom ponosim.

⁶We have sinned with our fathers. We have committed iniquity. We have done wickedly.

⁶Zgriješismo kao oci naši, činismo bezakonje, bezbožno radismo.

⁷Our fathers didn’t understand your wonders in Egypt. They didn’t remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses, but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds .

⁷Oci naši u Egiptu, nehajni za čudesa tvoja, ne spominjahu se velike ljubavi tvoje, već na Svevišnjeg digoše se na Crvenom moru.

⁸Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power known.

⁸Al' on ih izbavi rad' imena svoga da pokaže silu svoju.

⁹He rebuked the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds also, and it was dried up; so he led them through the depths, as through a desert.

⁹Zapovjedi Crvenome moru, i presahnu ono, provede ih izmed valÄa kao kroz pustinju.

¹⁰He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

¹⁰Iz ruku mrzitelja njih izbavi, oslobodi iz ruku dušmana.

¹¹The waters covered their adversaries. There was not one of them left.

¹¹I prekriše vode neprijatelje njine, ne ostade nijednoga od njih.

¹²Then they believed his words. They sang his praise.

¹²Vjerovahu riječima njegovim i hvale mu pjevahu.

¹³They soon forgot his works. They didn’t wait for his counsel,

¹⁵He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.

¹⁵I dade im što iskahu, al' u duše njine on groznicu posla.

¹⁶They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron, Yahweh’s saint.

¹⁶Zavidješe tada Mojsiju u taboru, Aronu, kog posveti Jahve.

¹⁷The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

¹⁷Otvori se zemlja, Datana proždrije, Abiramovo pokri mnoštvo.

¹⁸A fire was kindled in their company. The flame burned up the wicked.

¹⁸Oganj pade na sve mnoštvo njino i zlotvore plamen sažga.

¹⁹They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped a molten image.

¹⁹Načiniše tele na Horebu, klanjahu se liku od zlata slivenu.

²⁰Thus they exchanged their glory for an image of a bull that eats grass.

²⁰Zamijeniše Slavu svoju likom bika što proždire travu.

²¹They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt,

²¹Zaboraviše Boga, koji ih izbavi u Egiptu znamenja čineći

²²Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome things by the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds .

²²i čudesa u Kamovoj zemlji i strahote na Crvenome moru.

²³Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had Moses, his chosen, not stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, so that he wouldn’t destroy them.

²³Već namisli da ih satre, al' Mojsije, izabranik njegov, zauze se za njih da srdžbu mu odvrati, te ih ne uništi.

²⁴Yes, they despised the pleasant land. They didn’t believe his word,

²⁴Prezreše oni zemlju željkovanu ne vjerujuć' njegovoj riječi.

²⁵but murmured in their tents, and didn’t listen to Yahweh’s voice.

²⁵Mrmljahu pod šatorima svojim, ne poslušaše glasa Jahvina.

²⁶Therefore he swore to them that he would overthrow them in the wilderness,

²⁶Zakle se tada podignutom rukom: sve će ih pokosit' u pustinji,

²⁷that he would overthrow their seed among the nations, and scatter them in the lands.

²⁷potomstvo njino međ' narode razbacat', njih razasut' po zemljama.

²⁸They joined themselves also to Baal Peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

²⁸Posvetiše se Baal Peoru i jedoše žrtve bogova mrtvih.

²⁹Thus they provoked him to anger with their deeds. The plague broke in on them.

²⁹Razjariše ga nedjelima svojim, i on na njih pošast baci.

³⁰Then Phinehas stood up, and executed judgment, so the plague was stopped.

³⁰Al' se Pinhas diže, sud izvrši i pošasti nesta tada.

³¹That was credited to him for righteousness, for all generations to come.

³¹U zasluge to mu uđe u sva pokoljenja dovijeka.

³²They angered him also at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was troubled for their sakes;

³²Razjariše ga opet kraj voda meripskih, i Mojsija zlo pogodi zbog njih,

³³because they were rebellious against his spirit, he spoke rashly with his lips.

³³jer mu duh već ogorčiše, nesmotrenu riječ izusti.

³⁴They didn’t destroy the peoples, as Yahweh commanded them,

³⁴I ne istrijebiše naroda za koje im Jahve bješe naredio.

³⁵but mixed themselves with the nations, and learned their works.

³⁵S poganima miješahu se, naučiše djela njina.

³⁶They served their idols, which became a snare to them.

³⁶Štovahu likove njihove, koji im postaše zamka.

³⁷Žrtvovahu sinove svoje i svoje kćeri zlodusima.

³⁸They shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. The land was polluted with blood.

³⁸Prolijevahu krv nevinu, krv sinova i kćeri svojih, koje žrtvovahu likovima kanaanskim. Zemlja bješe krvlju okaljana,

³⁹Thus were they defiled with their works, and prostituted themselves in their deeds.

³⁹djelima se svojim uprljaše, učiniše preljub svojim nedjelima.

⁴⁰Therefore Yahweh burned with anger against his people. He abhorred his inheritance.

⁴⁰Na svoj narod Jahve srdžbom planu, zgadi mu se njegova baština.

⁴¹He gave them into the hand of the nations. Those who hated them ruled over them.

⁴¹Predade ih u ruke pogana te vladahu njima mrzitelji njini.

⁴²Their enemies also oppressed them. They were brought into subjection under their hand.

⁴²Mučili ih neprijatelji i tlačili rukom svojom.

⁴³Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their counsel, and were brought low in their iniquity.

⁴³Prečesto ih izbavljaše, al' ga razjariše naumima svojim: pokošeni bjehu za bezakonja svoja.

⁴⁴Nevertheless he regarded their distress, when he heard their cry.

⁴⁴On pogleda opet na nevolju njinu kad njihove molitve začu

⁴⁵He remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.

⁴⁵i sjeti se svog Saveza s njima, sažali se na njih u velikom milosrđu svome.

⁴⁶He made them also to be pitied by all those who carried them captive.

⁴⁶Učini da nađu milost u onih što ih bjehu zarobili.

⁴⁷Save us, Yahweh, our God, gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise!

⁴⁷Spasi nas, Jahve, Bože naš, i saberi nas od bezbožnih naroda da slavimo tvoje sveto ime, da se tvojom slavom ponosimo.

⁴⁸Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting! Let all the people say, “Amen.” Praise Yah! BOOK V

⁴⁸Blagoslovljen Jahve, Bog Izraelov, od vijeka dovijeka! I sav narod neka kaže: "Amen! Aleluja!"
