1 Samuel

10

1Then Samuel took the vial of oil, and poured it on his head, and kissed him, and said, “Isn’t it that Yahweh has anointed you to be prince over his inheritance?
1 Cymerodd Samuel ffiol o olew a'i dywallt dros ei ben, a'i gusanu a dweud, "Onid yw'r ARGLWYDD yn d'eneinio'n dywysog ar ei bobl Israel, ac onid ti fydd yn rheoli pobl yr ARGLWYDD, ac yn eu gwaredu o law eu gelynion oddi amgylch? A dyma'r arwydd fod yr ARGLWYDD wedi d'eneinio'n dywysog ar ei etifeddiaeth:
2When you have departed from me today, then you shall find two men by Rachel’s tomb, in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will tell you, ‘The donkeys which you went to seek have been found; and behold, your father has stopped caring about the donkeys, and is anxious for you, saying, “What shall I do for my son?”’
2 pan ei oddi wrthyf heddiw, cei ddau ddyn wrth fedd Rachel yn Selsach ar ffin Benjamin, a dywedant wrthyt fod yr asennod yr aethost i'w ceisio wedi eu cael, a bod dy dad wedi rhoi heibio fater yr asennod, ac yn poeni amdanoch chwi ac yn dweud, 'Beth a wnaf am fy mab?'
3“Then you shall go on forward from there, and you shall come to the oak of Tabor; and three men shall meet you there going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three young goats, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:
3 Wedi iti fynd ymlaen oddi yno, fe ddoi at dderwen Tabor a chael yno dri dyn yn mynd i fyny at Dduw i Fethel, un yn cario tri myn, un arall yn cario tair torth, a'r llall yn cario costrel o win.
4and they will greet you, and give you two loaves of bread, which you shall receive of their hand.
4 Wedi iddynt dy gyfarch, rhoddant iti ddwy dorth; cymer dithau hwy ganddynt.
5“After that you shall come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall happen, when you have come there to the city, that you shall meet a band of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tambourine, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they will be prophesying:
5 Wedi hynny doi at Gibea Duw, lle y mae rhaglaw y Philistiaid. Wedi iti gyrraedd y dref, byddi'n taro ar fintai o broffwydi yn dod i lawr o'r uchelfa gyda nabl, tympan, ffliwt a thelyn o'u blaen, a hwythau'n proffwydo.
6and the Spirit of Yahweh will come mightily on you, and you shall prophesy with them, and shall be turned into another man.
6 A bydd ysbryd yr ARGLWYDD yn disgyn arnat, a byddi dithau'n proffwydo gyda hwy ac yn cael dy droi'n ddyn gwahanol.
7Let it be, when these signs have come to you, that you do as occasion shall serve you; for God is with you.
7 Pan ddigwydd yr arwyddion hyn i ti, gwna yn l dy gyfle, oherwydd y mae Duw gyda thi.
8“You shall go down before me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to you, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: you shall wait seven days, until I come to you, and show you what you shall do.”
8 Dos i lawr o'm blaen i Gilgal, a dof finnau atat i offrymu poethoffrymau a heddoffrymau. Aros wythnos amdanaf, ac yna dangosaf iti beth i'w wneud."
9It was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs happened that day.
9 Wedi i Saul droi a gadael Samuel, newidiodd Duw ei galon ef, a digwyddodd yr holl arwyddion hyn yr un diwrnod.
10When they came there to the hill, behold, a band of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came mightily on him, and he prophesied among them.
10 Pan ddaethant i Gibea, yr oedd y fintai o broffwydi yno yn dod i'w gyfarfod; disgynnodd ysbryd Duw arno, a dechreuodd broffwydo yn eu plith.
11It happened, when all who knew him before saw that, behold, he prophesied with the prophets, then the people said one to another, “What is this that has come to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?”
11 Pan welodd y bobl oedd yn ei adnabod gynt ei fod yn proffwydo gyda'r proffwydi, dywedasant wrth ei gilydd, "Beth yw hyn sydd wedi digwydd i fab Cis? A yw Saul hefyd ymysg y proffwydi?"
12One of the same place answered, “Who is their father?” Therefore it became a proverb, “Is Saul also among the prophets?”
12 Ac ychwanegodd un oedd yno, "A phwy yw eu tad?" Dyna sut y daeth y ddihareb, "A yw Saul hefyd ymysg y proffwydi?"
13When he had made an end of prophesying, he came to the high place.
13 Pan orffennodd broffwydo, aeth i'r uchelfa.
14Saul’s uncle said to him and to his servant, “Where did you go?” He said, “To seek the donkeys. When we saw that they were not found, we came to Samuel.”
14 Gofynnodd ewythr Saul iddo ef a'i was, "Ymhle y buoch?" Atebodd, "Yn chwilio am yr asennod; ac wedi inni fethu eu gweld, aethom at Samuel."
15Saul’s uncle said, “Please tell me what Samuel said to you.”
15 Ac meddai ewythr Saul, "Dywed wrthyf, ynteu, beth a ddywedodd Samuel wrthych."
16Saul said to his uncle, “He told us plainly that the donkeys were found.” But concerning the matter of the kingdom, of which Samuel spoke, he didn’t tell him.
16 Dywedodd Saul wrth ei ewythr, "Sicrhaodd ni fod yr asennod wedi eu cael." Ond ni soniodd ddim wrtho am yr hyn a ddywedodd Samuel ynglu375?n 'r frenhiniaeth.
17Samuel called the people together to Yahweh to Mizpah;
17 Galwodd Samuel y bobl at yr ARGLWYDD i Mispa,
18and he said to the children of Israel, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all the kingdoms that oppressed you:’
18 a dywedodd wrth yr Israeliaid, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel: 'Myfi a ddaeth ag Israel i fyny o'r Aifft, a'ch achub o law yr Eifftiaid a'r holl deyrnasoedd a fu'n eich gorthrymu.
19but you have this day rejected your God, who himself saves you out of all your calamities and your distresses; and you have said to him, ‘No! Set a king over us.’ Now therefore present yourselves before Yahweh by your tribes, and by your thousands.”
19 Ond heddiw yr ydych yn gwrthod eich Duw, a fu'n eich gwaredu o'ch holl drueni a'ch cyfyngderau, ac yn dweud wrtho, "Rho inni frenin." Yn awr, felly, safwch yn rhengoedd o flaen yr ARGLWYDD yn l eich llwythau a'ch tylwythau.'"
20So Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel near, and the tribe of Benjamin was taken.
20 Wedi i Samuel gyflwyno pob un o lwythau Israel gerbron yr ARGLWYDD, dewiswyd llwyth Benjamin.
21He brought the tribe of Benjamin near by their families; and the family of the Matrites was taken; and Saul the son of Kish was taken: but when they sought him, he could not be found.
21 Yna cyflwynodd lwyth Benjamin fesul tylwythau, a dewiswyd tylwyth Matri; wedyn dewiswyd Saul fab Cis, ond wedi chwilio amdano, nid oedd i'w gael.
22Therefore they asked of Yahweh further, “Is there yet a man to come here?” Yahweh answered, “Behold, he has hidden himself among the baggage.”
22 Gofynasant eto i'r ARGLWYDD, "A ddaeth y gu373?r yma?" A dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD, "Do, y mae'n cuddio ymysg yr offer."
23They ran and fetched him there; and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.
23 Wedi iddynt redeg a'i gymryd oddi yno a'i osod i sefyll yng nghanol y bobl, yr oedd yn dalach na phawb, o'i ysgwyddau i fyny.
24Samuel said to all the people, “You see him whom Yahweh has chosen, that there is none like him among all the people?” All the people shouted, and said, “Let the king live!”
24 Dywedodd Samuel, "A welwch chwi'r un a ddewisodd yr ARGLWYDD? Yn wir nid oes neb o'r holl bobl yn debyg iddo." Bloeddiodd yr holl bobl a dweud, "Hir oes i'r brenin!"
25Then Samuel told the people the regulations of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before Yahweh. Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.
25 Yna mynegodd Samuel wrth y bobl ddull y frenhiniaeth, a'i ysgrifennu mewn llyfr a'i osod ynghadw gerbron yr ARGLWYDD; yna gollyngodd yr holl bobl, i bob un fynd adref.
26Saul also went to his house to Gibeah; and there went with him the army, whose hearts God had touched.
26 Aeth Saul yntau adref i Gibea, ac aeth gydag ef fyddin o rai y cyffyrddodd Duw 'u calon.
27But certain worthless fellows said, “How shall this man save us?” They despised him, and brought him no present. But he held his peace.
27 Ond meddai'r dihirod, "Sut y gall hwn ein hachub?" Yr oeddent yn ei ddirmygu, ac ni ddaethant ag anrheg iddo.
