Proverbs

24

1Don’t be envious of evil men; neither desire to be with them:
1 Paid  chenfigennu wrth bobl ddrwg, na dymuno bod yn eu cwmni;
2for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about mischief.
2 oherwydd y maent hwy'n meddwl am drais, a'u genau'n sn am drybini.
3Through wisdom a house is built; by understanding it is established;
3 Fe adeiledir tu375? trwy ddoethineb, a'i sicrhau trwy wybodaeth.
4by knowledge the rooms are filled with all rare and beautiful treasure.
4 Trwy ddeall y llenwir ystafelloedd phob eiddo gwerthfawr a dymunol.
5A wise man has great power; and a knowledgeable man increases strength;
5 Y mae'r doeth yn fwy grymus na'r cryf, a'r un deallus na'r un nerthol;
6for by wise guidance you wage your war; and victory is in many advisors.
6 oherwydd gelli drefnu dy frwydr medrusrwydd, a chael buddugoliaeth llawer o gynghorwyr.
7Wisdom is too high for a fool: he doesn’t open his mouth in the gate.
7 Y mae doethineb allan o gyrraedd y ffu373?l; nid yw'n agor ei geg yn y porth.
8One who plots to do evil will be called a schemer.
8 Bydd yr un sy'n cynllunio i wneud drwg yn cael ei alw yn ddichellgar.
9The schemes of folly are sin. The mocker is detested by men.
9 Y mae dichell y ffu373?l yn bechod, ac y mae pobl yn ffieiddio'r gwatwarwr.
10If you falter in the time of trouble, your strength is small.
10 Os torri dy galon yn nydd cyfyngder, yna y mae dy nerth yn wan.
11Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter!
11 Achub y rhai a ddygir i farwolaeth; rho gymorth i'r rhai a lusgir i'w lladd.
12If you say, “Behold, we didn’t know this”; doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?
12 Os dywedi, "Ni wyddem ni am hyn", onid yw'r un sy'n pwyso'r galon yn deall? Y mae'r un sy'n dy wylio yn gwybod, ac yn talu i bob un yn l ei waith.
13My son, eat honey, for it is good; the droppings of the honeycomb, which are sweet to your taste:
13 Fy mab, bwyta fl, oherwydd y mae'n dda, ac y mae diliau ml yn felys i'th enau.
14so you shall know wisdom to be to your soul; if you have found it, then there will be a reward, your hope will not be cut off.
14 Felly y mae deall a doethineb i'th fywyd; os cei hwy, yna y mae iti ddyfodol, ac ni thorrir ymaith dy obaith.
15Don’t lay in wait, wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous. Don’t destroy his resting place:
15 Paid llechu fel drwgweithredwr wrth drigfan y cyfiawn, a phaid ag ymosod ar ei gartref.
16for a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again; but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.
16 Er i'r cyfiawn syrthio seithwaith, eto fe gyfyd; ond fe feglir y drygionus gan adfyd.
17Don’t rejoice when your enemy falls. Don’t let your heart be glad when he is overthrown;
17 Paid llawenhau pan syrth dy elyn, nac ymfalcho pan feglir ef,
18lest Yahweh see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
18 rhag i'r ARGLWYDD weld, a bod yn anfodlon, a throi ei ddig oddi wrtho.
19Don’t fret yourself because of evildoers; neither be envious of the wicked:
19 Na fydd ddig wrth y rhai drygionus, na chenfigennu wrth y rhai sy'n gwneud drwg.
20for there will be no reward to the evil man; and the lamp of the wicked shall be snuffed out.
20 Oherwydd nid oes dyfodol i neb drwg, a diffoddir goleuni'r drygionus.
21My son, fear Yahweh and the king. Don’t join those who are rebellious:
21 Fy mab, ofna'r ARGLWYDD a'r brenin; paid bod yn anufudd iddynt,
22for their calamity will rise suddenly; the destruction from them both—who knows?
22 oherwydd fe ddaw dinistr sydyn oddi wrthynt, a phwy a u373?yr y distryw a achosant ill dau?
23These also are sayings of the wise. To show partiality in judgment is not good.
23 Dyma hefyd eiriau'r doethion: Nid yw'n iawn dangos ffafr mewn barn.
24He who says to the wicked, “You are righteous”; peoples shall curse him, and nations shall abhor him—
24 Pwy bynnag a ddywed wrth yr euog, "Yr wyt yn ddieuog", fe'i melltithir gan bobloedd a'i gollfarnu gan genhedloedd.
25but it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and a rich blessing will come on them.
25 Ond caiff y rhai sy'n eu ceryddu foddhad, a daw gwir fendith arnynt.
26An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
26 Y mae rhoi ateb gonest fel rhoi cusan ar wefusau.
27Prepare your work outside, and get your fields ready. Afterwards, build your house.
27 Rho drefn ar dy waith y tu allan, a threfna'r hyn sydd yn dy gae, ac yna adeilada dy du375?.
28Don’t be a witness against your neighbor without cause. Don’t deceive with your lips.
28 Paid thystio yn erbyn dy gymydog yn ddiachos, na thwyllo 'th eiriau.
29Don’t say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will render to the man according to his work.”
29 Paid dweud, "Gwnaf iddo fel y gwnaeth ef i mi; talaf iddo yn l ei weithred."
30I went by the field of the sluggard, by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
30 Euthum heibio i faes un diog, ac i winllan un disynnwyr,
31Behold, it was all grown over with thorns. Its surface was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down.
31 a sylwais eu bod yn llawn drain, a danadl drostynt i gyd, a'u mur o gerrig wedi ei chwalu.
32Then I saw, and considered well. I saw, and received instruction:
32 Edrychais arnynt ac ystyried; sylwais a dysgu gwers:
33a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep;
33 ychydig gwsg, ychydig hepian, ychydig blethu dwylo i orffwys,
34so your poverty will come as a robber, and your want as an armed man.
34 a daw tlodi atat fel dieithryn creulon, ac angen fel gu373?r arfog.
