Psalms

137

1By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down. Yes, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
1 Ger afonydd Babilon yr oeddem yn eistedd ac yn wylo wrth inni gofio am Seion.
2On the willows in its midst, we hung up our harps.
2 Ar yr helyg yno bu inni grogi ein telynau,
3For there, those who led us captive asked us for songs. Those who tormented us demanded songs of joy: “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”
3 oherwydd yno gofynnodd y rhai a'n caethiwai am gn, a'r rhai a'n hanrheithiai am ddifyrrwch. "Canwch inni," meddent, "rai o ganeuon Seion."
4How can we sing Yahweh’s song in a foreign land?
4 Sut y medrwn ganu cn yr ARGLWYDD mewn tir estron?
5If I forget you, Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill.
5 Os anghofiaf di, Jerwsalem, bydded fy neheulaw'n ddiffrwyth;
6Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I don’t remember you; if I don’t prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy.
6 bydded i'm tafod lynu wrth daflod fy ngenau os na chofiaf di, os na osodaf Jerwsalem yn uwch na'm llawenydd pennaf.
7Remember, Yahweh, against the children of Edom, the day of Jerusalem; who said, “Raze it! Raze it even to its foundation!”
7 O ARGLWYDD, dal yn erbyn pobl Edom ddydd gofid Jerwsalem, am iddynt ddweud, "I lawr hi, i lawr hi hyd at ei sylfeini."
8Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, he will be happy who rewards you, as you have served us.
8 O ferch Babilon, a ddistrywir, gwyn ei fyd y sawl sy'n talu'n l i ti am y cyfan a wnaethost i ni.
9Happy shall he be, who takes and dashes your little ones against the rock.
9 Gwyn ei fyd y sawl sy'n cipio dy blant ac yn eu dryllio yn erbyn y graig.
