1The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn; but, because he defiled his father’s couch, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
1رؤبین پسر اول اسرائیل بود، اما بخاطریکه یکی از زنان پدر خود را بی عصمت ساخت، از حقی که بعنوان پسر اول داشت محروم گردید و آن حق به یکی از فرزندان یوسف، پسر اسرائیل داده شد. بنابران، نام او بعنوان پسر اول شامل نسب نامه نیست. هرچند آن حق به یوسف داده شد،
2For Judah prevailed above his brothers, and of him came the prince; but the birthright was Joseph’s:)
2اما یهودا از بین همه قبایل، یک قبیلۀ نیرومند گردید و از آن یک پادشاه بوجود آمد.
3the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
3پسران رؤبین، فرزند اول اسرائیل اینها بودند: حنوک، فَلو، حِزرون و کَرمی.
4The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
4اولادۀ یوئیل: پسرش شِمَعیه، نواسه اش جوج و کواسه اش شِمعی بود.
5Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
5پسر شِمعی میکا، نواسه اش رایه و کواسه اش بَعل بود.
6Beerah his son, whom Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.
6پسر بَعل، بیره بود که تِلغَت فِلناسَر، پادشاه او را به اسارت برد. او رهبر قبیلۀ رؤبین بود.
7His brothers by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,
7اینها خویشاوندان او هستند که رهبران قبیله بودند و شامل فهرست نسب نامه شدند: یعی ئیل، زکریا، باِلَع (پسر عزاز، نواسۀ شِمَع، کواسۀ یوئیل). اینها در عروعیر و تا نِبو و بعل معون
8and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who lived in Aroer, even to Nebo and Baal Meon:
8و بطرف شرق تا مدخل بیابان که تا دریای فرات پراگنده بودند، زیرا رمه و گلۀ شان در سرزمین جِلعاد بسیار زیاد شدند.
9and eastward he lived even to the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, because their livestock were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
9در دوران سلطنت شائول با هاجری ها جنگیدند و آن ها را شکست داده مُلک و جای آن ها را در سرزمین جِلعاد اشغال کردند.
10In the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand; and they lived in their tents throughout all the land east of Gilead.
10قبیلۀ جاد در همسایگی قبیلۀ رؤبین، در سرزمین باشان و تا سَلخه زندگی می کردند.
11The sons of Gad lived over against them, in the land of Bashan to Salecah:
11مهمترین شخصیت قبیلۀ شان یوئیل و بعد از او شافام، یَعنای و شافاط در باشان بودند.
12Joel the chief, and Shapham the second, and Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
12اعضای دیگر قبیله به هفت خانوادۀ ذیل تعلق داشتند: میکائیل، مَشُلام، شَبَع، یورای، یَعکان، زیع و عِبِر.
13Their brothers of their fathers’ houses: Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.
13اینها اولادۀ اَبِیحایَل پسر حوری، پسر یاروح، پسر جِلعاد، پسر میکائیل، پسر یَشِیشای، پسر یَحدو و پسر بوز بودند.
14These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;
14اَخی پسر عبدئیل، نواسۀ جونی رئیس قبیله بود.
15Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of their fathers’ houses.
15این مردم جِلعاد و اطراف آنرا در سرزمین باشان و همچنین چراگاه های وسیع شارون را در اختیار خود داشتند.
16They lived in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, as far as their borders.
16نامهای آن ها با نسب نامۀ شان در زمان سلطنت یَرُبعام، پادشاه اسرائیل ثبت دفتر شده اند.
17All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
17قبایل رؤبین، جاد و نیم قبیلۀ مَنَسّی چهل و چهار هزار و هفتصد و شصت نفر جنگجویان دلاور داشتند که همگی مجهز با سپر و شمشیر و تیراندازان ماهر و آزموده بودند.
18The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skillful in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty, that were able to go forth to war.
18آن ها با هاجری ها، یَطور، نافیش و نوداب جنگیدند. چون به خدا ایمان داشتند، در حین جنگ بحضور او زاری کردند و از او کمک خواستند. خدا دعای شان را قبول فرمود و آن ها بر دشمن غلبه یافتند و هاجری ها و متحدین شان تسلیم شدند.
19They made war with the Hagrites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.
19در نتیجه پنجاه هزار شتر، دوصد و پنجاه هزار گوسفند و دو هزار الاغ هاجری ها را به دست آوردند و همچنین یکصد هزار نفر شان را اسیر گرفتند.
20They were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was entreated of them, because they put their trust in him.
20بسیاری از مردم آن ها را کشتند، زیرا آن جنگ، جنگ خدا بود و آن ها تا زمان تبعید در آنجا بسر بردند.
21They took away their livestock; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred fifty thousand, and of donkeys two thousand, and of men one hundred thousand.
21نفوس نیم قبیلۀ مَنَسّی زیاد بود. جای سکونت آن ها از باشان تا بَعل حِرمون، سنیر و کوه حِرمون وسعت داشت.
22For there fell many slain, because the war was of God. They lived in their place until the captivity.
22رؤسای خانواده های شان اشخاص ذیل بودند: عافر، یِشعی، اَلِی ئیل، عَزرئیل، ارمیا، هودویا و یَحدی ئیل. همۀ اینها رهبران جنگجو، شجاع و مشهور خانواده های خود بودند.
23The children of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the land: they increased from Bashan to Baal Hermon and Senir and Mount Hermon.
23اما آن ها در مقابل خدای اجداد خود گناه کردند. بتهای مردم آن سرزمین را که خداوند از سر راه شان محو کرده بود، می پرستیدند.بنابران، خداوند سبب شد که فول، پادشاه آشور (مشهور به تِغلَت فِلناسَر) به کشور شان حمله کند و مردم قبیلۀ رؤبین، جاد و نیم قبیلۀ مَنَسّی را به حَلَح، خابور، هارا و دریای جوزان به اسارت ببرد. آن ها تا به امروز در آنجا باقی ماندند.
24These were the heads of their fathers’ houses: even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, heads of their fathers’ houses.
24بنابران، خداوند سبب شد که فول، پادشاه آشور (مشهور به تِغلَت فِلناسَر) به کشور شان حمله کند و مردم قبیلۀ رؤبین، جاد و نیم قبیلۀ مَنَسّی را به حَلَح، خابور، هارا و دریای جوزان به اسارت ببرد. آن ها تا به امروز در آنجا باقی ماندند.
25They trespassed against the God of their fathers, and played the prostitute after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
26The God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, to this day.
