1In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
1در سال سی و ششم سلطنت آسا، بعشا پادشاه اسرائیل به یَهُودا اعلان جنگ داد و در عین حال، شهر مستحکم رامه را آباد کرد تا کسی نتواند از خارج و داخل در قلمرو آسا، پادشاه یَهُودا رفت و آمد کند.
2Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of Yahweh and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben Hadad king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,
2پس آسا تمام نقره و طلائی را که در خزانه های عبادتگاه و قصر شاهی بود برای بِنهَدَد، پادشاه سوریه که در دمشق حکومت می کرد، همراه با این پیام فرستاد:
3“Let there be a treaty between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.”
3«می خواهم پیمانی را که پدر تو و پدر من با هم بسته بودند تازه کنیم. اینک این تحفۀ نقره و طلا را برایت می فرستم و پیمانی را که با بعشا، پادشاه اسرائیل بسته ای فسخ کن تا او سپاه خود را از اینجا خارج کند.»
4Ben Hadad listened to king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali.
4بِنهَدَد قبول کرد و قوای خود را برای حمله به شهرهای اسرائیل فرستاد. شهرهای عیون، دان و آبل مایَم را با شهرهای ذخیرۀ نفتالی تصرف کرد.
5It happened, when Baasha heard of it, that he left off building Ramah, and let his work cease.
5بمجردیکه بعشا از ماجرا خبر شد، از بنای شهر رامه دست کشید و کار آبادی آن را ناتمام گذاشت.
6Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, with which Baasha had built; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.
6آسا پادشاه مردم یَهُودا را جمع کرد و آن ها سنگها و چوبهائی را که بعشا در رامه به کار برده بود، برداشتند و بردند و با آن ها شهرهای جِبَع و مِصفه را مستحکم ساختند.
7At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, “Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on Yahweh your God, therefore is the army of the king of Syria escaped out of your hand.
7در همین وقت حَنانی نبی پیش آسا، پادشاه یَهُودا رفت و به او گفت: «بخاطریکه تو از پادشاه سوریه کمک خواستی و به خداوند اعتماد نکردی، بنابران، سپاه سوریه را از دست دادی.
8Weren’t the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge army, with chariots and horsemen exceeding many? Yet, because you relied on Yahweh, he delivered them into your hand.
8آیا بخاطر نداری که بر سر مردم حبشه، لیبیا و سپاه آن ها چه آمد؟ آن وقت چون بر خداوند توکل کردی، آن ها را با همۀ عراده جات جنگی و سواران شان به دست تو شکست داد.
9For the eyes of Yahweh run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein you have done foolishly; for from henceforth you shall have wars.”
9هیچ چیزی در جهان از خداوند پنهان نمی ماند. او همه چیز را می بیند و به کسانی که با دل و جان به او ایمان دارند، قدرت و نیرو می بخشد. ولی تو کار احمقانه ای کردی، بنابران، از این ببعد، گرفتار جنگها خواهی بود.»
10Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in the prison; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.
10آسا از این حرف حَنانی قهر شد و او را در زندان انداخت و از آن روز ببعد، آسا شروع به آزار مردم کرد.
11Behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
11وقایع دوران سلطنت آسا از اول تا آخر در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان یَهُودا و اسرائیل ثبت اند.
12In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet; his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he didn’t seek Yahweh, but to the physicians.
12در سال سی و نهم سلطنتش به مرض پادردی مبتلا شد و مرضش روزبروز وخیمتر می گردید. او باوجودیکه به آنچنان مرض سخت گرفتار بود، بازهم از خداوند مدد نخواست و دست کمک به سوی طبیبان دراز کرد.
13Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
13سر انجام در سال چهل و یکم سلطنت خود فوت کرد و با پدران خود پیوستو او را در تابوتی که پُر از عطریات و انواع خوشبوئی بود، گذاشته در شهر داود، در مقبره ای که خودش برای خود ساخته بود، دفن کردند و آتش بزرگی به افتخار او افروختند.
14They buried him in his own tombs, which he had dug out for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers’ art: and they made a very great burning for him.
14و او را در تابوتی که پُر از عطریات و انواع خوشبوئی بود، گذاشته در شهر داود، در مقبره ای که خودش برای خود ساخته بود، دفن کردند و آتش بزرگی به افتخار او افروختند.
