1In the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.
1در سال هفتم حکومت عتلیا، یَهویاداع تصمیم گرفت که دست به کار شود. بنابران، با عده ای از فرماندهان نظامی از قبیل عَزَریا، پسر یَهُورام، اسماعیل، پسر یَهُوحانان، عَزَریا، پسر عوبید، مَعَسیا، پسر عدایا و الیشافاط، پسر زِکری همدست شد.
2They went about in Judah, and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the heads of fathers’ households of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.
2بعد در سراسر کشور یَهُودا سفر کردند و لاویان و سرکردگان اسرائیل را از تمام شهرهای یَهُودا جمع کرده به اورشلیم آمدند
3All the assembly made a covenant with the king in God’s house. He said to them, “Behold, the king’s son shall reign, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the sons of David.
3و در عبادتگاه خدا پیمانی با پادشاه بستند. بعد یَهویاداع به آن ها گفت: «مطابق پیمان خداوند با خانوادۀ داود، پسر پادشاه باید به سلطنت برسد.
4This is the thing that you shall do. A third part of you, who come in on the Sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be porters of the thresholds.
4پس کاری که باید بکنیم اینست: یک سوم شما لاویان و کاهنان که در روز شنبه می آئید از دروازه ها مراقبت کنید.
5A third part shall be at the king’s house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation. All the people shall be in the courts of Yahweh’s house.
5یک سوم تان در قصر شاهی و یک سوم دیگر تان هم به دروازۀ پائین عبادتگاه موظف باشید و مردم دیگر هم در حویلی عبادتگاه جمع شوند.
6But let no one come into the house of Yahweh, except the priests, and those who minister of the Levites. They shall come in, for they are holy, but all the people shall follow Yahweh’s instructions.
6بغیر از کاهنان و لاویان موظف، به هیچ کسی اجازه ندهید که به عبادتگاه داخل شود، زیرا وظیفۀ آن ها ایجاب می کند که به داخل عبادتگاه بروند و برعلاوه آن ها پاک و مقدس اند. سایر مردم به کارهائی که خداوند برای شان تعیین فرموده است مصروف باشند.
7The Levites shall surround the king, every man with his weapons in his hand. Whoever comes into the house, let him be slain. Be with the king when he comes in, and when he goes out.”
7لاویان سلاح به دست به گِرد شاه باشند و از او محافظت کنند. و هر کسیکه بدون اجازه داخل عبادتگاه شود، باید هلاک گردد و به هیچ صورت شاه را تنها نگذارند.»
8So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath; with those who were to go out on the Sabbath; for Jehoiada the priest didn’t dismiss the shift.
8پس لاویان و همه مردم یَهُودا قرار هدایت یَهویاداع کاهن رفتار کردند. رهبران به سه دسته با مردان خود حاضر شدند ـ آنهائی که در روز سَبَت وظیفه داشتند و هم آنهائی که در آن روز مرخص بودند ـ زیرا یَهویاداع آن ها را اجازه نداد که به خانه های خود بروند.
9Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds the spears, and bucklers, and shields, that had been king David’s, which were in God’s house.
9بعد یَهویاداع نیزه و سپرهای کوچک و بزرگ را که متعلق به داود پادشاه بودند و در عبادتگاه خداوند قرار داشتند به فرماندهان نظامی داد.
10He set all the people, every man with his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, along by the altar and the house, around the king.
10عده ای را برای محافظت شاه گماشت. همگی مسلح در سمت جنوب و شمال عبادتگاه، بدور قربانگاه و همچنین در خود عبادتگاه قرار گرفتند.
11Then they brought out the king’s son, and put the crown on him, and gave him the testimony, and made him king: and Jehoiada and his sons anointed him; and they said, “Long live the king!”
11بعد شهزاده را بیرون آوردند، تاج شاهی را بر سرش گذاشتند و یک نسخۀ عهدنامه را به او دادند و بعنوان پادشاه خود انتخابش کردند. یَهویاداع و پسرانش او را مسح نمودند و گفتند: «زنده باد پادشاه!»
12When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of Yahweh:
12وقتی عتَلیا صدای غلغلۀ مردم را شنید که شاه را مدح می کنند، بداخل عبادتگاه پیش مردم رفت.
13and she looked, and, behold, the king stood by his pillar at the entrance, and the captains and the trumpets by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew trumpets; the singers also played musical instruments, and led the singing of praise. Then Athaliah tore her clothes, and said, “Treason! treason!”
13در آنجا پادشاه را دید که در پهلوی ستون خود، پیش دروازۀ دخول عبادتگاه ایستاده است و فرماندهان نظامی و نوازندگان سُرنا در پهلوی او جای گرفته بودند، و همۀ مردم کشور خوشی می کردند، سُرنا می نواختند و خوانندگان هم با آلات مختلف موسیقی در آن مراسم شرکت داشتند. با دیدن آن صحنه، عتَلیا یخن خود را پاره کرد و فریاد زد: «خیانت! خیانت!»
14Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Bring her out between the ranks; and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t kill her in the Yahweh’s house.”
14آنگاه یَهویاداع کاهن به فرماندهان نظامی گفت: «او را از میان دو صف بیرون ببرید. هر کسیکه بدنبال او بیاید باید با شمشیر کشته شود.» کاهن اضافه کرد: «در بین عبادتگاه خداوند او را نکشید.»
15So they made way for her. She went to the entrance of the horse gate to the king’s house; and they killed her there.
15پس راه را برای او باز کردند و وقتیکه بدهن دروازۀ طویلۀ اسپها، در قصر شاهی رسید، او را در آنجا کشتند.
16Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, and all the people, and the king, that they should be Yahweh’s people.
16بعد یَهویاداع پیمانی با تمام مردم و پادشاه بست که قرار آن پیمان، آن ها قوم خاص خداوند شدند.
17All the people went to the house of Baal, and broke it down, and broke his altars and his images in pieces, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.
17سپس همگی به معبد بعل رفتند و آن را ویران کردند. قربانگاه و بت او را شکستند و متان، کاهن بعل را در پیشروی قربانگاه بقتل رساندند.
18Jehoiada appointed the officers of the house of Yahweh under the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of Yahweh, to offer the burnt offerings of Yahweh, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, according to the order of David.
18یَهویاداع عده ای را تحت سرپرستی لاویان و کاهنان را برای محافظت عبادتگاه گماشت تا مطابق تشکیلات داود و اوامر کتاب تورات موسی قربانی سوختنی با شادی و سرود بحضور خداوند تقدیم کنند.
19He set the porters at the gates of the house of Yahweh, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.
19دروازه بانان را بدروازه های عبادتگاه گماشت تا مردم بدون طهارت بداخل آن نروند.
20He took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the house of Yahweh: and they came through the upper gate to the king’s house, and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.
20بعد فرماندهان نظامی، اشراف، والیان و همه مردم کشور، پادشاه را از راه دروازۀ بالا به قصر سلطنتی آوردند و بر تخت شاهی نشاندند.همگی سرشار از خوشی بودند و بعد از آنکه عتَلیا بقتل رسید، شهر آرام شد.
21So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. Athaliah they had slain with the sword.
