1In the second year of Joash son of Joahaz king of Israel began Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah to reign.
1در سال دوم سلطنت یهوآش، پسر یَهواَخاز، پادشاه اسرائیل بود که اَمَصیا، پسر یوآش پادشاه یهودا شد.
2He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jehoaddin of Jerusalem.
2او در سن بیست و پنج سالگی به سلطنت رسید و مدت بیست و نُه سال در اورشلیم پادشاهی کرد. نام مادرش یَهُوعدان و از مردم اورشلیم بود.
3He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, yet not like David his father: he did according to all that Joash his father had done.
3اَمَصیا مانند پدر خود، یوآش با کارهای نیک خود رضامندی و خوشنودی خداوند را حاصل کرد، اما نه به اندازۀ جد خود، داود.
4However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
4معابد بالای تپه ها را بحال شان گذاشت و مردم هنوز هم در آن معابد قربانی می کردند و بخور می سوزاندند.
5It happened, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he killed his servants who had slain the king his father:
5بمجردیکه همه قدرت و اختیار مملکت را در دست گرفت تمام مأمورینی را که در قتل پدرش دست داشتند از بین برد.
6but the children of the murderers he didn’t put to death; according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as Yahweh commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”
6اما فرزندان قاتلان را، طبق احکام تورات نکشت. چونکه خداوند چنین فرموده بود: «والدین بخاطر فرزندان کشته نشوند و همچنین فرزندان بسبب گناه والدین بقتل نرسند، بلکه هر کسی باید به موجب گناه خودش جزا ببیند.»
7He killed of Edom in the Valley of Salt ten thousand, and took Sela by war, and called its name Joktheel, to this day.
7اَمَصیا یکبار ده هزار نفر از ادومیان را در وادی نمک بقتل رساند. سالع را تصرف کرد نام آنرا به یُقتَئیل تبدیل نمود که تا به امروز به همین نام یاد می شود.
8Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, “Come, let us look one another in the face.”
8بعد اَمَصیا به یهوآش، پسر یَهواَخاز، نواسۀ ییهُو، پادشاه اسرائیل پیام فرستاده گفت: «بیا که باهم زورآزمائی کنیم.»
9Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son as wife. Then a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by, and trampled down the thistle.
9یهوآش در جواب اَمَصیا گفت: «شترخار لبنان به سرو لبنان پیام فرستاده گفت: «دخترت را به پسرم بده.» اما در همان اثنا یک حیوان وحشی لبنان که از آنجا می گذشت شترخار را پایمال کرد.
10You have indeed struck Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Enjoy the glory of it, and stay at home; for why should you meddle to your harm, that you should fall, even you, and Judah with you?’”
10همین افتخاری که ادومیان را شکست دادی برایت بس است و حالا در خانه ات به آرامی زندگی کن. چرا برای خود مشکلات خلق می کنی و مردم یهودا را هم با خود در بلا گرفتار می سازی؟»
11But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah.
11اما اَمَصیا به سخنان او گوش نداد. بنابران یهوآش، پادشاه اسرائیل بجنگ او رفت. هر دو پادشاه در مقابل هم در بیت شمس که متعلق به یهودا بود صف آراستند.
12Judah was defeated by Israel; and they fled every man to his tent.
12یهودا شکست خورد و همۀ شان به خانه های خود فرار کردند.
13Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Beth Shemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
13یهوآش اَمَصیا را دستگیر کرد و بعد با سپاه خود به اورشلیم رفت. دیوار اورشلیم را از «دروازۀ افرایم» تا «دروازۀ زاویه» که دوصد متر طول داشت ویران کرد.
14He took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of Yahweh, and in the treasures of the king’s house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.
14تمام نقره، طلا و ظروفی را که در عبادتگاه خداوند و خزانۀ قصر شاهی بود گرفت و با یک عده اسیران به سامره برگشت.
15Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15بقیۀ کارروائی های یهوآش، قدرت و شیوه ایکه در جنگ با اَمَصیا، پادشاه یهودا به کار برد همه در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل ثبت است.
16Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his place.
16وقتی یهوآش فوت کرد او را با اجدادش در مقبرۀ پادشاهان اسرائیل در سامره بخاک سپردند و یَرُبعام جانشین او شد.
17Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.
17بعد از وفات یهوآش، پادشاه اسرائیل، اَمَصیا مدت پانزده سال زندگی کرد.
18Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
18بقیه وقایع دوران سلطنت اَمَصیا در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان یهودا نوشته شده اند.
19They made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish: but they sent after him to Lachish, and killed him there.
19پسانتر در اورشلیم توطئه ای برضد او چیدند و او به لاکیش فرار کرد، اما دشمنانش به تعقیبش رفته در آنجا او را بقتل رساندند.
20They brought him on horses; and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.
20مردم یهودا جنازۀ او را بر اسپ حمل کرده به اورشلیم بردند و با پدرانش در شهر داود بخاک سپردند.
21All the people of Judah took Azariah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.
21بعد از او تاج شاهی را بر سر پسر شانزده ساله اش، عَزَریا گذاشتند.
22He built Elath, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
22عَزَریا پس از وفات پدر خود، اِیلَت را دوباره آباد کرد و به یهودا مسترد نمود.
23In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria for forty-one years.
23در سال پانزدهم سلطنت اَمَصیا، پادشاه یهودا، یَرُبعام، پسر یوآش در سامره پادشاه اسرائیل شد و مدت چهل و یک سال سلطنت کرد.
24He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh: he didn’t depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.
24با کارهای زشت خود خداوند را ناراضی ساخت. از راه و روش خطای یَرُبعام، پسر نباط که مردم اسرائیل را براه گناه بُرد، پیروی کرد و از آن دست نکشید.
25He restored the border of Israel from the entrance of Hamath to the sea of the Arabah, according to the word of Yahweh, the God of Israel, which he spoke by his servant Jonah the son of Amittai, the prophet, who was of Gath Hepher.
25سرحد اسرائیل را از دهانۀ حَمات تا بحیرۀ عربه دوباره به دست آورد. این کار او نتیجۀ پیشگوئی خداوند، خدای اسرائیل بود که به یونس نبی، پسر اَمِتای، از اهالی جَت حافر، فرموده بود.
26For Yahweh saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter; for there was none shut up nor left at large, neither was there any helper for Israel.
26زیرا خداوند دید که مصیبت و رنج مردم اسرائیل از حد گذشته است و همگی ـ غلام و آزاد ـ رنج می کشیدند و غمخوار و مددگاری نداشتند.
27Yahweh didn’t say that he would blot out the name of Israel from under the sky; but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.
27برعلاوه خداوند وعده فرموده بود که نام اسرائیل را از صفحۀ روزگار محو نمی کند، بنابران آن ها را بوسیلۀ یَرُبعام دوم، پسر یوآش نجات داد.
28Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which had belonged to Judah, for Israel, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
28بقیه وقایع دوران سلطنت یَرُبعام، کارها، قدرت، جنگها و اینکه چطور دمشق و حمات را که متعلق به یهودا بودند دوباره به دست آورد، همه در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل ثبت اند.وقتی یَرُبعام فوت کرد با اجداد خود پیوست و بعد از او پسرش، زِکَریا پادشاه شد.
29Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zechariah his son reigned in his place.
29وقتی یَرُبعام فوت کرد با اجداد خود پیوست و بعد از او پسرش، زِکَریا پادشاه شد.
