1In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea the son of Elah began to reign in Samaria over Israel for nine years.
1در سال دوازدهم سلطنت آحاز، پادشاه یهودا، هوشع، پسر اِیلا در سامره بر تخت سلطنت اسرائیل نشست و مدت نُه سال پادشاهی کرد.
2He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, yet not as the kings of Israel who were before him.
2او در برابر خداوند گناه ورزید، ولی نه به اندازۀ پادشاهانی که پیش از او حکومت می کردند.
3Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and brought him tribute.
3شَلمَناسَر، پادشاه آشور به جنگ او آمد. هوشع به او تسلیم شد و هر سال به او جزیه می داد.
4The king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea; for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.
4اما یک سال به او جزیه نداد و نمایندۀ خود را پیش سوا، پادشاه مصر فرستاد و از او کمک خواست. چون پادشاه آشور خبر شد به جرم خیانتش او را دستگیر کرد و در زندان انداخت.
5Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
5بعد شَلمَناسَر به اسرائیل حمله بُرد. سامره را تصرف کرد و آن سرزمین مدت سه سال در تصرف آشوریان بود.
6In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away to Assyria, and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
6حملۀ آشوریان در سال نهم سلطنت هوشع رُخ داد. پادشاه آشور مردم اسرائیل را به آشور اسیر بُرد. بعضی از آن ها را در شهر حَلَح، بعضی را در کنار دریای خابور در ناحیۀ جوزان و بعضی را در شهرهای مِیدِیان جا داد.
7It was so, because the children of Israel had sinned against Yahweh their God, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
7سقوط سامره نتیجۀ گناه مردم اسرائیل بود که در مقابل خداوند، خدای خود مرتکب شدند. خدائی که آن ها را از دست فرعون، پادشاه مصر نجات داد. آن ها نه تنها خدایان بیگانه را پرستش کردند،
8and walked in the statutes of the nations, whom Yahweh cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they made.
8بلکه راه و روش اقوامی را که خداوند از سر راه شان دور کرده بود تعقیب کرده و رسوم زشتی را که پادشاهان اسرائیل مرتکب شدند، پیروی کردند.
9The children of Israel did secretly things that were not right against Yahweh their God: and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fortified city;
9مردم اسرائیل مخفیانه کارهائی کردند که خداوند، خدای شان منع کرده بود. معابدی مثل بت پرستان در شهرهای خورد و بزرگ برای خود ساختند.
10and they set them up pillars and Asherim on every high hill, and under every green tree;
10بر تپه ها و زیر هر درخت سبز بت و ستون اَشیره ساختند.
11and there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the nations whom Yahweh carried away before them; and they worked wicked things to provoke Yahweh to anger;
11مثل اقوامی که خداوند آن ها را از سر راه شان دور کرد، در آن جاهها قربانی می نمودند و خوشبوئی دود می کردند. با اعمال زشت خود آتش خشم خداوند را برافروختند.
12and they served idols, of which Yahweh had said to them, “You shall not do this thing.”
12خداوند به آن ها فرموده بود که بت پرستی نکنند اما آن ها بازهم آن کار را کردند.
13Yet Yahweh testified to Israel, and to Judah, by every prophet, and every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.”
13خداوند بوسیلۀ انبیاء و پیامبران به مردم اسرائیل و یهودا اخطار داده فرموده بود: «از کارهای زشت دست بردارید و از احکام من پیروی کنید. فرایض مرا مطابق شریعتی که ذریعۀ انبیاء به اجداد تان داده بودم بجا آورید.»
14Notwithstanding, they would not listen, but hardened their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who didn’t believe in Yahweh their God.
14ولی آن ها به کلام خداوند گوش ندادند. مثل اجداد شان که به خداوند، خدای خود ایمان نداشتند مغرور و سرکش شدند.
15They rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified to them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and followed the nations that were around them, concerning whom Yahweh had commanded them that they should not do like them.
15از اوامر او اطاعت نکردند. پیمانی را که با پدران شان بسته بود شکستند و به اخطار او اعتنا ننمودند، و از روی حماقت بتهای بی ارزش را پرستش کردند و خود شان هم بی ارزش شدند. راه و روش اقوامی را که در اطراف شان بودند، پیروی نمودند، باوجودیکه خداوند فرموده بود که از کارهای بد آن ها تقلید نکنند.
16They forsook all the commandments of Yahweh their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made an Asherah, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served Baal.
16احکام خداوند، خدای خود را فراموش کرده برای خود دو گوسالۀ فلزی ساختند تا آن ها را پرستش کنند. همچنین مجسمۀ بت اَشیره را ساختند و آفتاب و مهتاب و ستارگان را پرستیدند و خدمت آن ها را نمودند.
17They caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger.
17پسران و دختران خود را برای خدایان بیگانه قربانی کردند. دست به جادوگری و فالبینی زدند و زندگی خود را وقف کارهائی نمودند که در نظر خداوند زشت بودند، لهذا خداوند را خشمگین ساختند.
18Therefore Yahweh was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
18پس خداوند بر اسرائیل قهر شد و آن ها را از نظر انداخت و تنها قبیلۀ یهودا در آن کشور باقی ماند.
19Also Judah didn’t keep the commandments of Yahweh their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
19مردم یهودا هم از احکام خداوند، خدای خود اطاعت نکردند و از رسوم و شیوه ای که مردم اسرائیل در پیش گرفته بودند، تقلید کردند.
20Yahweh rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
20خداوند تمام اولادۀ اسرائیل را ترک نمود و آن ها را به دست تاراجگران سپرد تا همۀ شان از حضور او محو شدند و به جزای اعمال خود رسیدند.
21For he tore Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drove Israel from following Yahweh, and made them sin a great sin.
21بعد از آنکه خداوند اسرائیل را از خانوادۀ داود جدا کرد، آن ها یَرُبعام، پسر نباط را پادشاه خود انتخاب کردند. یَرُبعام مردم اسرائیل را از پیروی خداوند بازداشت و سبب شد که آن ها مرتکب گناه بزرگی شوند.
22The children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they didn’t depart from them;
22مردم اسرائیل از گناهان یَرُبعام پیروی کردند و از گناه کردن دست نکشیدند،
23until Yahweh removed Israel out of his sight, as he spoke by all his servants the prophets. So Israel was carried away out of their own land to Assyria to this day.
23تا اینکه خداوند، همانطوریکه بوسیلۀ تمام انبیاء پیشگوئی فرموده بود، مردم اسرائیل را از حضور خود راند. بنابران آن ها در سرزمین آشور تا به امروز در حال تبعید بسر می برند.
24The king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Avva, and from Hamath and Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they possessed Samaria, and lived in the cities of it.
24پادشاه آشور مردم را از بابل، کوت، عِوا، حَمات و سفرایم آورد و آن ها را بجای مردم اسرائیل در شهرهای سامره جا داد. به این ترتیب آشوریان سامره را تصرف نموده در شهرهای آن سکونت اختیار کردند.
25So it was, at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they didn’t fear Yahweh: therefore Yahweh sent lions among them, which killed some of them.
25چون این مردم در اوایلِ اقامت خود در آنجا خداوند را پرستش نکردند، بنابران خداوند شیرها را در بین شان فرستاد تا بعضی از آن ها را بکشند.
26Therefore they spoke to the king of Assyria, saying, “The nations which you have carried away, and placed in the cities of Samaria, don’t know the law of the god of the land. Therefore he has sent lions among them, and behold, they kill them, because they don’t know the law of the god of the land.”
26پس به پادشاه آشور خبر دادند و گفتند: «مردمی را که آوردی و در شهرهای سامره جا دادی از قوانین خدای آن سرزمین خبر ندارند، بنابران او شیرها را فرستاد و آن ها مردم را می کشند، زیرا از شریعت خدای آن سرزمین بی خبر اند.»
27Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, “Carry there one of the priests whom you brought from there; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the law of the god of the land.”
27پادشاه آشور امر کرد: «یکی از کاهنان را که اسیر گرفته اید به آنجا بفرستید تا به آن ها شریعت خدای آن سرزمین را تعلیم بدهد.»
28So one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and lived in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear Yahweh.
28پس یکی از کاهنان را که از سامره اسیر کرده بودند به بیت ئیل فرستادند و او در آنجا سکونت اختیار کرد و به آن ها آموخت که به چه ترتیب خداوند را بپرستند.
29However every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities in which they lived.
29اما مردمی که در سامره ساکن شدند برای خود خدایانی ساختند و در معابد بالای تپه ها که مردم سامره بنا کرده بودند قرار دادند.
30The men of Babylon made Succoth Benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
30مردم بابل بت سُکوت بِنُوت را، مردم کوت بت نَرجَل را، مردم حَمات بت اشیما را،
31and the Avvites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the Sepharvites burnt their children in the fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
31عِویان بتهای نِبحَز و ترتاک را ساختند. مردم سفرایم پسران خود را برای اَدرَمَلک و عَنَمَلَک، خدایان شان، در آتش قربانی کردند.
32So they feared Yahweh, and made to them from among themselves priests of the high places, who sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
32آن ها همچنان خداوند را عبادت می کردند و از بین خود، از هر گروه مردم کاهنان را در معابد بالای تپه ها گماشتند که برای شان در همان معابد قربانی تقدیم کنند.
33They feared Yahweh, and served their own gods, after the ways of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.
33به این ترتیب آن ها هم خداوند و هم خدایان خود را می پرستیدند،
34To this day they do what they did before: they don’t fear Yahweh, neither do they follow their statutes, or their ordinances, or the law or the commandment which Yahweh commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
34و تا به امروز به همان عادات قدیم خود دوام داده از رسوم کشورهای اصلی خود پیروی می کنند.
آن ها خداوند را پرستش نکردند. احکام، فرایض و اوامر او را که به اولادۀ یعقوب، داده بود بجا نیاوردند. (خداوند پسانتر نام یعقوب را به اسرائیل تبدیل کرد.)
35with whom Yahweh had made a covenant, and commanded them, saying, “You shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them;
35خداوند با آن ها پیمانی بست و فرمود: «شما نباید خدایان دیگر را بپرستید، یا آن ها را سجده کنید، یا خدمت آن ها را بنمائید و یا برای شان قربانی کنید،
36but you shall fear Yahweh, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, and you shall bow yourselves to him, and you shall sacrifice to him.
36بلکه تنها خداوند را بپرستید که با قدرت خدائی و بازوی توانای خود شما را از کشور مصر خارج کرد. شما باید او را سجده کنید و برای او قربانی تقدیم نمائید.
37The statutes and the ordinances, and the law and the commandment, which he wrote for you, you shall observe to do forevermore. You shall not fear other gods.
37از فرایض، احکام و شریعت او که برای شما نوشت، همیشه و با دقت کامل پیروی کنید. از پرستش خدایان بیگانه بپرهیزید؛
38You shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you; neither shall you fear other gods.
38پیمانی را که با شما بسته ام از یاد نبرید و خدایان دیگر را عبادت نکنید،
39But you shall fear Yahweh your God; and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”
39بلکه تنها خداوند، خدای خود را که شما را از دست همه دشمنان نجات داد بپرستید.»
40However they did not listen, but they did what they did before.
40بازهم مردم به کلام خداوند گوش ندادند و عادات و رسوم قدیم خود را ترک نکردند.به این ترتیب این مردم هم خداوند را و هم بتهای خود را می پرستیدند، و تا به امروز فرزندان و اولادۀ فرزندان شان از اعمال گذشتگان خود پیروی می کنند.
41So these nations feared Yahweh, and served their engraved images. Their children likewise, and their children’s children, as their fathers did, so they do to this day.
41به این ترتیب این مردم هم خداوند را و هم بتهای خود را می پرستیدند، و تا به امروز فرزندان و اولادۀ فرزندان شان از اعمال گذشتگان خود پیروی می کنند.
