¹Now in the assembly that was at Antioch there were some prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

¹در آن زمان در کلیسای انطاکیه عده ای نبی و معلم از قبیل برنابا و شمعونِ ملقب به نیجر و لوکیوسِ قیروانی و مَناحِم (که با هیرودیس پادشاه، بزرگ شده بود) و شائول حضور داشتند.

²As they served the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Separate Barnabas and Saul for me, for the work to which I have called them.”

²یک روز که آن ها روزه دار و مشغول عبادت خداوند بودند روح القدس به ایشان فرمود: «برنابا و شائول را برای آن کاری که من آن ها را خواسته ام مقرر کنید.»

³Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

³پس آن ها بعد از روزه و دعا، دست بر سر آن دو نهاده و آن ها را به وظیفه فرستادند.

⁴So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia. From there they sailed to Cyprus.

⁴این دو نفر که فرستادگان روح القدس بودند، به بندر سلوکیه رفتند و از آنجا از راه دریا به قبرس آمدند

⁵When they were at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. They had also John as their attendant.

⁵و وارد شهر سلامیس شدند و در کنیسه های یهودیان کلام خدا را منتشر می ساختند و یوحنا (که مرقُس لقب داشت) دستیار ایشان بود.

⁶When they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar Jesus,

⁶آن ها تمام جزیرۀ قبرس را طی کردند تا به شهر پافُس رسیدند. در آنجا به یک جادوگر یهودی که نبی دروغین بود و بَریَشوع نام داشت برخوردند.

⁷who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of understanding. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.

⁷او از ملازمین سرگیوس پولُس، والی قبرس که مردی هوشمند بود، بشمار می آمد. والی، برنابا و شائول را به حضور خود خواست زیرا می خواست کلام خدا را از آن ها بشنود.

⁸But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn aside the proconsul from the faith.

⁸اما آن جادوگر که نام یونانی او عَلیما بود با آنها مخالفت می کرد و کوشش می کرد والی را از ایمان آوردن باز دارد.

⁹But Saul, who is also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fastened his eyes on him,

⁹در این هنگام شائول که به نام پولُس معروف شده بود، پُر از روح القدس شده به آن مرد چشم دوخت و گفت:

¹⁰and said, “Full of all deceit and all cunning, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

¹⁰«ای فرزند شیطان، ای دشمن تمام نیکی ها، ای سرچشمۀ نیرنگ و تبهکاری، آیا از گمراه ساختن مردم از راه راست خداوند دست نمی کشی؟

¹¹Now, behold, the hand of the Lord is on you, and you will be blind, not seeing the sun for a season!” Immediately a mist and darkness fell on him. He went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

¹¹حالا ببین، دست خدا ترا خواهد زد و نابینا خواهی شد و تا مدتی نور آفتاب را نخواهی دید.» در همان وقت دنیا در نظر عَلیما تیره و تار شد و کورکورانه به اینطرف و آنطرف می گشت تا شخصی را برای راهنمائی خود پیدا کند.

¹²Then the proconsul, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.

¹²والی که این جریان را دید ایمان آورد زیرا از تعالیم خداوند بسیار حیران شده بود.

¹³Now Paul and his company set sail from Paphos, and came to Perga in Pamphylia. John departed from them and returned to Jerusalem.

¹³پولُس و همراهان او پافُس را ترک کردند و از راه بحر به پرجۀ پمفیلیه آمدند. یوحنای (مرقُس) از آنها جدا شد و به اورشلیم بازگشت.

¹⁴But they, passing on from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia. They went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down.

¹⁴ایشان از پرجه گذشته به شهر انطاکیه که یکی از شهرهای ولایت پیسیدیه است آمدند. در روز سَبَت به کنیسه داخل شدند و نشستند.

¹⁵After the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak.”

¹⁵بعد از قرائت تورات و کتاب انبیاء، رؤسای کنیسه پیش ایشان فرستادند و گفتند: «ای برادران اگر پیام تشویق کننده ای برای این قوم دارید، بفرمائید.»

¹⁶Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, “Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen.

¹⁶پولُس برخاست و با اشاره دست، از ایشان درخواست نمود که خاموش باشند و بعد چنین گفت: «ای مردان اسرائیلی و همۀ شما که خدا ترس هستید، توجه نمائید.

¹⁷The God of this people TR, NU add “Israel” chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they stayed as aliens in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm, he led them out of it.

¹⁷خدای قوم اسرائیل، نیاکان ما را برگزید و در آن هنگام که آن ها در سرزمین مصر در غربت زندگی می کردند آنها را قومی بزرگ ساخت و دست خود را دراز کرد تا آنها را از آن سرزمین بیرون آورد.

¹⁸For a period of about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.

¹⁸مدت چهل سال در بیابانها متحمل ایشان شد.

¹⁹When he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land for an inheritance, for about four hundred fifty years.

¹⁹پس از نابود ساختن آن هفت ملتی که مقیم کنعان بودند سرزمین آن ها را

²⁰After these things he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet.

²⁰تا مدت چهارصد و پنجاه سال به عنوان میراث به تصرف اسرائیل در آورد. بعد از آن هم تا زمان سموئیل نبی، داوران را به ایشان بخشید

²¹Afterward they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.

²¹و وقتی آن ها خواستند برای خود یک پادشاه داشته باشند، خدا شائول پسر قیس را که مردی از طایفۀ بنیامین بود به ایشان داد تا او مدت چهل سال حکمرانی کند.

²²When he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom he also testified, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’

²²بعد از آن او را برکنار کرد و داود را برانگیخت تا پادشاه ایشان شود. خدا در حق داود چنین گواهی داده گفت: «من داود پسر یسی را مورد پسند خود یافته ام. او کسی است که هر چه بخواهم انجام می دهد.»

²³From this man’s seed, God has brought salvation TR, NU read “a Savior, Jesus” instead of “salvation” to Israel according to his promise,

²³از نسل همین مرد، خدا مطابق وعدۀ خود عیسی را به عنوان نجات دهنده ای برای اسرائیل برانگیخت.

²⁴before his coming, when John had first preached the baptism of repentance to Israel. TR, NU read “to all the people of Israel” instead of “to Israel”

²⁴پیش از آمدن او یحیی لزوم توبه و تعمید را به همۀ قوم اسرائیل اعلام می کرد

²⁵As John was fulfilling his course, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. But behold, one comes after me the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’

²⁵و وقتی خدمت خود را به انجام رسانید گفت: «من آن کسی که شما گمان می کنید نیستم. اما بعد از من کسی می آید که من لایق آن نیستم که بند بوت او را باز نمایم.»

²⁶Brothers, children of the stock of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, the word of this salvation is sent out to you.

²⁶ای برادران، ای فرزندان ابراهیم، و نیز شما ای کسانی که در این جمعیت حضور دارید و از خدا می ترسید، پیام این نجات به ما رسیده است،

²⁷For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they didn’t know him, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.

²⁷زیرا ساکنان اورشلیم و حکمرانان ایشان نه او را شناختند و نه از کلمات انبیاء که در هر روز عبادت قرائت می شود چیزی فهمیدند، اما با دادن حکم سر او پیشگوئی های انبیاء را تکمیل کردند.

²⁸Though they found no cause for death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed.

²⁸اگر چه خطائی که مستوجب مرگ باشد در او نیافتند، از پیلاطُس تقاضا کردند تا او را اعدام کند.

²⁹When they had fulfilled all things that were written about him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a tomb.

²⁹و بعد از آنکه تمام پیشگویی های را که در مورد او نوشته شده بود به انجام رسانیدند او را از صلیب پائین آوردند و به خاک سپردند.

³⁰But God raised him from the dead,

³⁰اما خدا او را پس از مرگ زنده گردانید

³¹and he was seen for many days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.

³¹و کسانیکه در سفر از جلیل به اورشلیم همراه او بودند روزهای زیادی او را دیدند و هم اکنون در برابر قوم، شاهدان او می باشند.

³²We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers,

³²ما در حضور شما مژدۀ آن وعده ای را که خدا به پدران ما داد اعلام می کنیم

³³that God has fulfilled the same to us, their children, in that he raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your father.’ Psalm 2:7

³³که خدا برای ما که فرزندان آنها هستیم با رستاخیز عیسی به آن وعده وفا کرده است، چنانکه در مزمور دوم آمده است:«تو پسر من هستی امروز من پدر تو شده ام.»

³⁴“Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’ Isaiah 55:3

³⁴باز هم در خصوص رستاخیز او از مردگان و اینکه دیگر او فساد را نخواهد دید، خدا چنین فرمود:«من آن برکات مقدس و قابل اطمینانی را که به داود وعده داده ام به تو خواهم بخشید.»

³⁵Therefore he says also in another psalm, ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.’ Psalm 16:10

³⁵و در جای دیگر می فرماید:«تو به این رضا نخواهی داد، که بنده امین تو فساد را ببیند.»

³⁶For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was laid with his fathers, and saw decay.

³⁶و اما داود که در روزگار خود مطابق ارادۀ خدا خدمت کرده بود، مُرد و به پدران خود ملحق شد و فساد را دید،

³⁷But he whom God raised up saw no decay.

³⁷اما آن کسی که خدا او را زنده گردانید هرگز فساد را ندید.

³⁸Be it known to you therefore, brothers The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” , that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins,

³⁸ای برادران، بدانید که مژدۀ آمرزش گناهان به وسیلۀ عیسی به شما اعلام شده است.

³⁹and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

³⁹هر کس به او ایمان آورد، از تمام گناهانی که شریعت موسی نتوانست او را آزاد نماید، آزاد خواهد شد.

⁴⁰Beware therefore, lest that come on you which is spoken in the prophets:

⁴⁰پس متوجه باشید که این گفتۀ انبیاء در مورد شما صادق نباشد که می فرماید:

⁴¹‘Behold, you scoffers, and wonder, and perish; for I work a work in your days, a work which you will in no way believe, if one declares it to you.’” Habakkuk 1:5

⁴¹«ای استهزا کنندگان توجه کنید، حیران شوید و نابود گردید، زیرا در روزگار شما کاری خواهم کرد که حتی اگر کسی آنرا برای تان بیان کند باور نخواهید کرد.»»

⁴²So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.

⁴²در موقع خروج از کنیسه مردم از آن ها تقاضا کردند که سَبَت بعد نیز دربارۀ این امور برای ایشان سخن بگویند

⁴³Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.

⁴³و وقتی مجلس تمام شد بسیاری از یهودیان و آنهایی که به یهودیت گرویده بودند، بدنبال پولُس و برنابا در راه رفتن شدند. این دو با آنها صحبت می کردند و ایشان را تشویق می نمودند، که در فیض خدا استوار بمانند.

⁴⁴The next Sabbath almost the whole city was gathered together to hear the word of God.

⁴⁴هفته بعد تقریباً همۀ ساکنان آن شهر برای شنیدن پیام خدا گرد آمدند.

⁴⁵But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.

⁴⁵اما هنگامی که یهودیان جماعت را دیدند حسادت ورزیدند و هر چه را پولُس می گفت، انکار می کردند و به او دشنام می دادند.

⁴⁶Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said, “It was necessary that God’s word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

⁴⁶پولُس و برنابا با شجاعت و دلیری گفتند: «لازم بود که کلام خدا پیش از همه به گوش شما برسد، اما چون شما آنرا رد کردید و خود را لایق زندگی ابدی ندانستید، بدانید که ما از این پس پیش غیر یهودیان خواهیم رفت،

⁴⁷For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’” Isaiah 49:6

⁴⁷زیرا خداوند چنین فرموده است:«من ترا برگزیدم که نور ملتها و وسیلۀ رستگاری تمام جهان باشی.»»

⁴⁸As the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God. As many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

⁴⁸وقتی غیر یهودیان این گفتار را شنیدند خوشحال شدند و از کلام خدا تعریف کردند و آنانی که برای دریافت زندگی ابدی معین شده بودند، ایمان آوردند.

⁴⁹The Lord’s word was spread abroad throughout all the region.

⁴⁹پیام خداوند در تمام آن سرزمین منتشر شد.

⁵⁰But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their borders.

⁵⁰اما یهودیان، زنان متنفذی که به یهودیت گرویده بودند و بزرگان شهر را بر ضد پولُس و برنابا تحریک نمودند. پس آنها را آزار رسانیده از آن ناحیه بیرون کردند.

⁵¹But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium.

⁵¹اما آن دو به عنوان اعتراض، خاک آن شهر را از پاهای خود تکانده و به شهر قونیه رفتندو شاگردان در انطاکیه پُر از خوشی و روح القدس گردیدند.

⁵²The disciples were filled with joy with the Holy Spirit.

⁵²و شاگردان در انطاکیه پُر از خوشی و روح القدس گردیدند.
