¹You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep go astray, and hide yourself from them: you shall surely bring them again to your brother.

¹اگر گاو یا گوسفند یکی از برادران اسرائیلی تان را ببینید که سرگردان است، آن را نادیده نگیرید، بلکه به صاحبش برگردانید.

²If your brother isn’t near to you, or if you don’t know him, then you shall bring it home to your house, and it shall be with you until your brother seek after it, and you shall restore it to him.

²اگر صاحب آن در نزدیکی شما سکونت نداشته باشد و یا ندانید که صاحبش کیست، آنوقت آن را به خانۀ تان برده و در آنجا نگاهش دارید و وقتی که صاحبش پیدا شود آن را به او مسترد کنید.

³So you shall do with his donkey; and so you shall do with his garment; and so you shall do with every lost thing of your brother’s, which he has lost, and you have found: you may not hide yourself.

³وقتی الاغ، لباس و هر چیز دیگری که از کسی گم شده باشد و شما آن را بیابید همچنان رفتار کنید و نباید از کمک کردن خودداری نمائید.

⁴You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fallen down by the way, and hide yourself from them: you shall surely help him to lift them up again.

⁴اگر دیدید که الاغ یا گاو کسی در سر راه افتاده است وانمود نکنید که آنرا ندیده اید، بلکه به کمک آن حیوان بشتابید و آن را بر سر پاهایش بلند کنید.

⁵A woman shall not wear men’s clothing, neither shall a man put on women’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh your God.

⁵زن نباید لباس مردانه بپوشد و نه مرد لباس زنانه را به تن کند، زیرا خداوند، خدای تان از این عمل نفرت دارد.

⁶If a bird’s nest chance to be before you in the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the hen sitting on the young, or on the eggs, you shall not take the hen with the young:

⁶وقتی آشیانۀ پرنده ای را بالای درخت یا روی زمین می بینید که پرنده با چوچه ها یا تخمهای خود در بین آن نشسته است. مادر را همراه چوچه هایش نگیرید.

⁷you shall surely let the hen go, but the young you may take to yourself; that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days.

⁷مادر را رها کنید که برود، تنها چوچه هایش را برای خود بگیرید. به این ترتیب زندگی طولانی و با برکت می داشته باشید.

⁸When you build a new house, then you shall make a battlement for your roof, that you don’t bring blood on your house, if any man fall from there.

⁸وقتی برای خود یک خانۀ نو آباد می کنید، به دورادور بام تان دیوار بسازید، مبادا کسی از سر بام بیفتد و شما مسئول مرگ او شوید.

⁹You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest the whole fruit be forfeited, the seed which you have sown, and the increase of the vineyard.

⁹شما نباید در تاکستان تان تخم دیگری بکارید، زیرا در اینصورت هم تخمی را که کاشته اید و هم انگورها تلف می شوند.

¹⁰You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.

¹⁰برای قلبه کردن، گاو و الاغ را در یک یوغ نبندید.

¹¹You shall not wear a mixed stuff, wool and linen together.

¹¹لباسی را که از پشم و نخ بافته شده باشد نپوشید.

¹²You shall make yourselves fringes or, tassles on the four borders of your cloak, with which you cover yourself.

¹²در چهار گوشۀ چپن تان رشته بدوزید.

¹³If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, and hates her,

¹³اگر مردی با دختری ازدواج کند و بعد از آنکه با او همبستر شد او را متهم سازد که پیش از ازدواج با او با مرد دیگری همبستر شده است و بگوید: «وقتی با او ازدواج کردم باکره نبود.»

¹⁴and accuses her of shameful things, and brings up an evil name on her, and says, “I took this woman, and when I came near to her, I didn’t find in her the tokens of virginity”;

¹⁴پس پدر و مادر دختر باید با مدرکی که بکارت دختر شان را ثبوت کند پیش ریش سفیدان شهر بروند.

¹⁵then shall the father of the young lady, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the young lady’s virginity to the elders of the city in the gate;

¹⁵پدر دختر به آن ها بگوید: «من دختر خود را به این مرد دادم که زن او بشود، اما حالا دخترم را نمی خواهد

¹⁶and the young lady’s father shall tell the elders, “I gave my daughter to this man to wife, and he hates her;

¹⁶و او را متهم ساخته می گوید که دختر باکره نبود. ولی این مدرک ثابت می سازد که دخترم باکره بوده است.» آنگاه پارچه را پیشروی ریش سفیدان شهر پهن کنند.

¹⁷and behold, he has accused her of shameful things, saying, ‘I didn’t find in your daughter the tokens of virginity;’ and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity.” They shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.

¹⁷ریش سفیدان شهر باید آن مرد را جزا بدهند

¹⁸The elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him;

¹⁸و معادل یکصد مثقال نقره جریمه اش کنند و این جریمه باید به پدر دختر پرداخته شود، زیرا او یک دختر باکرۀ اسرائیلی را بدروغ متهم ساخته است. آن زن همسر او باقی بماند و تا که زنده است اجازه ندارد او را طلاق بدهد.

¹⁹and they shall fine him one hundred shekels of silver, and give them to the father of the young lady, because he has brought up an evil name on a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.

¹⁹اما اگر اتهامات مرد حقیقت داشته و مدرکی که بکارت آن زن را ثابت کند وجود نداشته باشد،

²⁰But if this thing be true, that the tokens of virginity were not found in the young lady;

²⁰آنوقت ریش سفیدان شهر زن را به خانۀ پدرش برده در آنجا سنگسارش کنند تا بمیرد، زیرا او در خانۀ پدر خود زنا کرده و در اسرائیل رسوائی را بار آورده است و شما باید این ننگ را از دامن تان پاک کنید.

²¹then they shall bring out the young lady to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done folly in Israel, to play the prostitute in her father’s house: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.

²¹اگر مردی حین زنا با یک زن شوهردار دیده شود، باید آن مرد و زن هر دو بقتل برسند. به این ترتیب، اسرائیل از شرارت پاک می شود.

²²If a man be found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman: so you shall put away the evil from Israel.

²²هرگاه مردی، در بین شهر، در حال ارتکاب زنا با دختری که نامزد شخص دیگری است دیده شود،

²³If there is a young lady who is a virgin pledged to be married to a husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;

²³شما باید هردوی شان را از شهر بیرون برده سنگسار کنید تا بمیرند ـ آن دختر را بخاطری که برای کمک فریاد نزد و مرد را به این جهت که نامزد مرد دیگری را بی حرمت ساخته است. به این طریق، شما شرارت را از بین خود پاک می کنید.

²⁴then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones; the lady, because she didn’t cry, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor’s wife: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.

²⁴اما اگر مردی در خارج شهر به ناموس دختری که نامزد شخص دیگری است تجاوز کند، آنوقت باید تنها آن مرد متجاوز کشته شود

²⁵But if the man find the lady who is pledged to be married in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her; then the man only who lay with her shall die:

²⁵و با آن دختر کاری نداشته باشید، زیرا او کاری نکرده است که مستحق مرگ باشد. عمل مرد مثل آن است که کسی به شخصی حمله کند و او را بقتل برساند،

²⁶but to the lady you shall do nothing; there is in the lady no sin worthy of death: for as when a man rises against his neighbor, and kills him, even so is this matter;

²⁶چونکه این عمل در بیرون شهر صورت گرفته است و شاید آن دختر برای کمک فریاد زده باشد و کسی نبود که او را نجات بدهد.

²⁷for he found her in the field, the pledged to be married lady cried, and there was none to save her.

²⁷اگر مردی به یک دختری که نامزد نباشد، تجاوز کند و در حین ارتکاب این عمل دستگیر شود،

²⁸If a man find a lady who is a virgin, who is not pledged to be married, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

²⁸آن مرد متجاوز باید به پدر دختر پنجاه مثقال نقره بپردازد و با آن دختر ازدواج کند. چون او آن دختر را بی حرمت ساخته است و هرگز اجازه ندارد که او را طلاق بدهد.هیچ مردی زن پدر خود را به زنی نگیرد و در حق پدر خود تجاوز ننماید.

²⁹then the man who lay with her shall give to the lady’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has humbled her; he may not put her away all his days.

²⁹هیچ مردی زن پدر خود را به زنی نگیرد و در حق پدر خود تجاوز ننماید.

³⁰A man shall not take his father’s wife, and shall not uncover his father’s skirt.
